Not only wash the property breath taking, spacious, and felt very secure/safe bringing my toddler nephew along, Terry made recommended another site closer to the restroom that was more accommodating to a toddler since Site 1 was much farther. The new site was also very spacious and had a gorgeous view over one of the lakes. We did have neighbors during our stay, but the sites are spaced out nicely with clear boundaries. Upon arrival, Terry help navigate us to the site, gave us a helpful debriefing of the property, with his recommendations where to explore, and was very transparent of other campers. Typically being a solo camper, I felt very at easy bringing kids and would definitely book here again!

This was our first time camping at Compound but we hope to come back again. The Quarry is absolutely beautiful and well taken care of. Terry was very nice and accommodating. He also was able to get us firewood when we forgot to purchase it beforehand. Compound is worth the stay.

Awesome site!! Gorgeous location, nice and peaceful, and extremely scenic. Decent cell service, friendly host, couldn’t ask for more! I will definitely be back.

Terry was so welcoming and friendly! He gave a great history of the land. The campsite felt remote and we were really able to appreciate its natural beauty. We were able to see so many stars and the moonlight filled up the quarry at night. We definitely want to come back again!

Awesome spot! Great views and peaceful. Generous space between the campsites so you’re not on top of each other. Some light train noise in the background, but nothing disturbing. The porta potty was clean, and extra stacks of firewood available to buy if you need more. Wish we had more time to check out the hiking trail around the quarry. And only a 20 minute drive to Harper’s Ferry for additional adventuring!

The most amazing and dramatic site that I have stayed at. Very cool. Photos don’t do it justice. You have the option of staying high above the quart with
Magnificent views, or to stay at water level to explore ! What a treat and I look forward to coming back!

This was our second time camping at the Compound Camprounds. The natural beauty of the quarry and surrounding area is breathtaking. What made it even better was our host, Terry. He was incredibly friendly, flexible, and responsive.
His flexibility in accommodating our requests and his quick responsiveness added to the overall ease and enjoyment of our stay.

Terry is a wonderful host. The camp is pristine and lovely. Very well kept.
Others mentioned the train and road noise, however we didn’t mind the occasional train in the distance. And barely noticed any traffic sounds. It’s peaceful with plenty of solitude. We will be returning often.

We were pleasantly surprised to find a gas grill with available propane to prepare a special dinner, were consistently delighted by the varieties of singing birds, curious deer, and the wonderful fireflies, and very excited to have the nights to ourselves while stargazing and enjoying the near full Strawberry Moon! Awesome stay! The views of the water were beautiful, especiallywhenthey reflected the limestone cliffs. Although we don't fish, the folks we observed fishing were getting hits. There's a nice trail that starts at the back of the property and goes all the way around the ridge that we enjoyed. Terry and his brother Mike were awesome hosts. If you're a nature enthusiast, there's plenty to watch. I was lucky enough to watch a bald eagle looking for fish. Don't let the mention of the traffic scare you away. It is a distance away, and although you can hear some in the background, it's not like you're camping right along the highway or train tracks. Our dog loved it too! We will definitely be coming back!

Terry's spot the Compound Campground was a perfect spot for a weekend stay! The quarry is beautiful and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. As others have mentioned their is train noise present at all hours of the day but it is very manageable. The quarry was the perfect spot to explore on our kayak, the other camp spots seem to be spaced out quite well and check in check out was a breeze. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Compound Campground!

Terry is an excellent host and was flexible with our delayed check in and camp site selection. The place is clean above and below water and the porta potty was just serviced. The water is clear and perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing with the kids. We caught bass, bluegill, rock bass, green sunfish and crappie. We could hear the traffic and the trains as we were going to bed but we woke up to birds chirping which was pleasant. You can buy firewood too, which we did, but didn’t end up needing it. It’s an awesome place and Terry and his brother and great. Highly recommend.
