This was our second stay in Painted Desert. Last time was in the summer so we were a little worried about staying warm in mid-October. Despite being in the 40’s at night, it was very comfortable and our stay was even better than the last. Lex took good care of us and Bay View never disappoints. We can’t wait to go back.

Unique Stay in Vibrant MKE
Walkable energetic neighborhood; you can get food delivered if you don’t want to venture out. All of the comforts of home without any of the usual distractions. It’s the perfect cozy space to unwind and unplug. The patio area feels private and secure even though you’re in the heart of Bay View. I adored the aesthetic, and Lexis was an incredible host.

Great experience
This was one of the best stays on any peer to peer rental site we have ever experienced! The vibe the host has cultivated is absolutely breath taking. We enjoyed the whole site experience and the neighborhood it was located in. I will be telling everyone who will listen to stay here!

My new friend’s name is “Janice”
If you’re looking for comfortable glamping in a cool urban neighborhood, don’t miss out on this listing! The motor home “Janice” was spacious, had tons of period-specific /homey touches, and was completely unique! Very comfortable - tons of pillows, seating areas, and fans/vents to circulate air. Access to an indoor bathroom in a building less than 100 yards away was super convenient!
While I can wax poetic for a while on how great our stay was, I do have 2 gripes: 1) The was only one towel we could find for showering. It might to nice to have a couple more available? And 2) I wish the shower in the RV was explained more. Don’t get me wrong - Lexis’ guidebook was INCREDIBLE. The only thing it was missing was info about how the water source worked. I was looking to simply shampoo and condition my hair and in (what seemed like) 5-7 minutes the water was completely out for the rest of the night. My traveling partner was out of luck for a shower. However, Lexis provided an outdoor sink that helped wash off some things. So there was a silver lining!
But if you get anything out of my long diatribe… book this stay. You’ll have a blast, feel inspired, and enjoy yourself. I’m excited to return.

We had an incredible weekend staying in Painted Dessert (RV)! Located next to the heart of Bayview, it was also close to large parks and the beach. We did it all and at some amazing restaurants / drank at some cool bars. Coming back to the RV was always a treat since the outdoor area was secluded and just looking at Painted Dessert brings a smile to your face.

We stayed here for my girlfriend’s birthday weekend thinking that it would be a fun way to celebrate and it blew our expectations out of the water! Firstly, the photos posted here do not do the motorhome justice. It was clear that Lexis took a great deal of effort to make literally every corner of the place beautiful and cozy. Secondly, the stay was within walking distance to dozens of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops, and just a short drive away to the city center. Everything was clean and organized upon arrival, and Lexis responded very quickly to a question we had. We highly recommend!

This place was awesome! Highly recommended. Such a great spot, and so nicely redone and kept up! It's close to a lot of things, and we were able to get some late take-out and eat at the nice big table in the camper, it was great.

I loved our stay at the vintage RV. Lex was welcoming and gave all the info needed. The RV is very cool and delivers all the Almost Famous vintage vibes that it touts in pictures. The neighborhood felt welcoming and inclusive with tons of great food/drink options nearby. Something notable is that cold weather means you could be cold in the RV. There's space heaters that do warm up the space eventually but in the end it's still a little chilly. That's probably a detail that an RV experienced person would expect but as a visitor to the world it hadn't crossed my mind. So pack accordingly! I would happily stay here again on a summer trip.

Staying in this camper was like stepping back into the 1970s! The host has done an amazing job decorating and restoring it. The location is excellent. Great place to stay for an urban adventure. Walkable neighborhood near the lake and lots of restaurants/bars.
