Perfect Getaway
Staying at the Longhorn Getaway for four days to view the eclipse and get some much needed R&R met our deepest needs. We were secluded from the other campers yet we weren’t shut out. That means we had our privacy and also were able to interact with the other campers. There was a walk to the restroom and shower, however, the hosts brought in a second restroom for our convenience. It was easy to “hike” into the campsite. It was not far at all and we were able to drive back into the area to unload our gear (4x4 is recommended to do this). Everyone was friendly and courteous, not only in the campground, but also in and around town.

Unique and memorable
We enjoyed the beautiful property and cute donkey. There is plenty of firewood and the homemade port-a-potty was clean. Sometime in the early morning the longhorns came near our tent and freaked us out a bit bc it sounded so close and loud, but they were very chill. The disc golf course is very much “make up as you go” as there are no clear starting points so we ended up just practicing our short game. The directions to get on the property were in a YouTube video so watch that before going because they don’t send the gate code info via message like Airbnb. All in all I would definitely use this camping spot again. They were super friendly and it is so close to all of the things we were exploring. It was peaceful and the trees were beautiful.

Solstice camping.
I’ve given a few 5 star reviews and now I realize they weren’t worth a 5 star review. This place is awesome! We plan on doing another trip out here and have no hesitation about staying here. The bathroom was a composting. But I’ve of the best that I have seen. Also an awesome shower set up too. I don’t play disc golf but it’s cool that they have it as a feature. The disc golf route had A nice trail to walk on, even if you don’t play. It was close enough to the cities and amenities while feeling outdoors all at the same time. Responses were slow, but it could of easily been because we were there for the eclipse and they just got lost in the pile of campers reaching out.
