Great camping spot that's both remote and close to town/many things to do. We really enjoyed our stay. One thing to note, accessing the lake with kayaks/canoes directly from the campsite isnt an option, but there is a small, easier place to access the lake closer to the driveway when you arrive to the property.

This is quite frankly the best campsite I’ve ever been to. If you read nothing else, do not pass up the opportunity to stay here.
We are a family of 7 with 5 children ages 6 through 14 and a dog. It is not an easy task creating a space where that age range can be happy. Plus our mangy dog was thrilled to run around all day!
We paddle boarded every day and saw loons, herons, cranes, eagles, and BEAVERS! There is ample space for yard games.
We had 4 hammocks set up and 2 tents with plenty of room to spread out. We rented a lily pad from Dave’s Sportland and laid out by the lily pads growing up along the shore.
The campsite is remote in that it is quiet. And yet, Super One in Crosby is 6 minutes away.
The toilet available (a little pit) is not much more than what you get in the boundary waters, but it’s fine and actually not that buggy at all.
Overall, we spent 4 nights and 5 days there. Every night, as we watched the sunset from the dock, my wife and I dreamed about our next trip to Queen Anne’s Island.
Our family is SO THANKFUL for Grady and this space he has shared. Memories we will treasure forever.

We had a fantastic stay here! We stayed mid August with 4 people and dogs, tent camping. It was easy to find with the provided instructions, hardly any bugs, beautiful stars at night, only saw 1 other group of people on their boat for a couple hours, and had fun on the lake. There was a gas cook top, chairs, pit toilet, boat launch, plenty of fire wood, and fire pit. Only cons were it'd be nice if the pit toilet at least had 1 privacy wall and the lake was very weedy, especially by the dock. Host was very helpful and accommodating. Overall we had a much-needed escape from the city and hope to return next year.💖

loved it, nice and remote but close to Cuyuna biking. The vault toilet was a bit of a stretch but think owner was looking at upgraded sanitation. Not really a worry if you are self-prepared.
Kids loved fishing off the dock, it really felt remote but was close enough to town for incidental needs.
Would visit again.

The campsite is beautiful! Wonderful view of the lake. Very private and quiet. We had good luck fishing off the dock- caught some decent size large mouth bass and some sunnies. You travel down a long driveway to the site, so definitely feels private. Only 4 other houses on the lake I think. We had a blow up row boat raft which was nice to paddle around the lake. We saw and heard lots of loons during our stay! Only 2 sort of downsides- the wooded area means lots of bugs- at least when we were there so bring bug spray! We had a 24’ camper trailer which I would say is the max you want to drive down the windy driveway and try to maneuver at the camping spot. We had a lovely time though! Beautiful spot!

This is a particularly nice spot. There is a sense of total privacy. On this specific Thursday night, despite perfect summer weather, I never saw any human activity on the lake. Also note there's Verizon reception.
Be aware: you have to follow the written directions (which are easy to understand) and don't rely on the coordinates exactly ... This is the case with a lot of Hipcamps ... No biggie.

Such an awesome spot!! Enjoyed lake views from the site. So nice and private! Even the drive in was beautiful. We launched our paddle boards off the dock, fished, enjoyed a couple nights with a campfire, and slept comfortably in our tent.
There is no running water but was not an issue for us at all.
Very curious to know the story behind the stone fireplace….

This is a lovely, private, secluded tent spot which is exactly what I was seeking. I enjoyed how pristinely undeveloped it is. I’m the kind of HipCamper that prefers sites void of anything, even picnic tables. I do like a fire pit though, and this one is large and nicely located. The first thing I did upon arrival was to tidy up after whomever had preceded me. It’s surprising what “leave no trace” means to some people, and that they put cans in fire pits. There were also two kind of junky looking piles of stuff in the line of sight to what otherwise would have been a beautiful view of the lake and an AWESOME old stone fireplace from a dwelling of the past. It’s too bad that those eyesores with some items that looked left behind by other campers ( like a towel ) were there, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I had left my compass at home so couldn’t find the SE corner (?) of the potty that apparently is marked by a trail, but I’d brought my own.
LOTS of sounds from the lake all night, so come here if you LOVE the sound of nature. It would be HipCamp HEAVEN to me without the eyesores on-site and highway noise, but this place comes pretty darned close. Thank you Grady for the use of your lovely land, for the great directions, and for personally answering my questions. I’d love to come back.

The view from the campfire is gorgeous! The shore is pretty mucky but once we got further out, the lake was great for swimming and paddle boarding. Bring bug spray!

We spent two nights here and woke each morning to only the sounds of the loons on the lake and the wind in the trees. There’s very little highway noise but you do get to hear the whistle of the trains in the afternoon.
There’s room for one family tent or two personal tents and a prep area near the fire pit overlooking the lake. In the clearing – up a short rise from the fire pit – is a vehicle turnaround or room for more tents/trailers.
There is some debris and other camping equipment stored near the site which isn’t any fun to look at and the vegetation surrounding the campsite is pretty dense so plan accordingly.
The property is quite dog-friendly. There’s oddly not many squirrels and ground varmint to chase and the lakefront vegetation is quite dense so it’s not terribly inviting for anything other than the intrepid dog.
We took paddle boards out on the lake several times. We swam in the middle of the lake and watched one of the very few neighbors haul a pretty good size fish out of the water.
Overall, the privacy and natural setting of this site is remarkable but at $120/night I feel it’s on the pricey side for similar locations.

Great spot to gather with friends! There is a ton of room, great views, good fishing, and a lot of privacy. Grady was extremely responsive and had an answer for all of my questions! My group and I will definitely be back.

This place is rad! Very private and plenty of space to relax. Stayed two nights with my dog and had a great experience. Great views, only three or four homes on the lake and they’re spaced out nicely. Saw some swans and a garter snake but that was about it for wildlife this time. I’d definitely like to come back with a canoe and stay a while longer. Great spot.
