If you fish, Lakeside provides wonderful fishing. The lake includes bass, sunnies, bluegills, catfish, and perch. We have a license for the lake so you do not need an NYS license.

This land was once all pasture for grazing animals.
We moved to Delaware County in November 2018 to start our family and pursue dreams of working on the land. The initial idea was to find a place we could live, garden, and raise a few animals while hosting guests and sharing the land with visitors. When we found this place on Williams Road, we loved the mix of rural and proximity to a thriving country town. We now have two kids and enjoy living in Delhi so much we hardly leave the town limits! There are wonderful restaurants, a great year-round farmers market, grocery stores, and many other services and amenities you can find listed towards the end of this guide.
Our Catskill Mountain home is situated on a historic early 19th century farm site. Parts of the house might be more than 190 years old! With several additions and upgrades we think the house has lots of charm and enjoy the many modern touches. The property is overgrown pastures and a few steeper slopes with medium growth trees. After the industrial period saw this region nearly deforested, the land was granted to settlers who cleared fields and planted grass. Our immediate vicinity was knows for it’s cattle (Bovina), mostly for diary, and sheep. The agriculture in Delaware County has been on a decline since the advent of rail shipping opened New York City markets to farms in less challenging geographies. Construction of the NYC fresh water system (DEP Watershed) may have contributed to this decline, but about 60-70 years ago the majority of pastures, especially less productive parcels were abandoned to the “weed trees”. These first succession trees grew quickly in the sunny meadows and covered the hills; trees such as Ash, Hawthorn, and Norway Spruce. Fences and barns were left to return to the earth. On our property the stone walls that boarder the fields are the most stark reminder of the intensive agriculture practiced here.

Weekend Trip to Lakeside Campground
I really enjoyed this place. It is very peaceful and clean, perfect for resting and disconnecting. The surroundings are beautiful: watching the sunrise over the lake, the sunsets, and the bonfires at night made the experience unforgettable. The nature around brings peace and energy, ideal for relaxing and reconnecting.
The hosts were very attentive and always available for anything I needed. You can feel the care and dedication they put into maintaining the place, which makes you feel welcome from the very first moment.
Overall, it was an excellent experience and I definitely recommend it. It’s a place I would love to return to.

Staying at a yurt was a different experience altogether! We’ve never glamped but I do think it’s along those lines…. Nice clean space with basic amenities and clean shared restrooms and hot showers! Literally all that you can ask for when in the wilderness!

Dix cabin is great! I would definitely go back again. It’s very secluded (about a mile off-road), far away from other sites- so very private, and had everything necessary for one or two people. It’s a nice bonus that you have access to all the campground facilities (including boats for the lake). The camp caretaker was also very friendly and helpful.

It's a beautiful secluded lake down a half a mile road. Just bring your own bedding and enjoy the nature with no wifi. The owner is helpful and the area is not far from Tupper lake.

Campground host , mr. matt, is a great person and will help you in any way.
Showers and cabins are good, some better than others since they are still upgrading as much as possible on what funds are available.
Lake is sandy and warm.

It was nice having running water (+ shower) for me who hadn't camped in over 25 years! Trails clearly marked to get to rec hall and beach. The check in process was easy enough. Glad I had my Jeep to get up the hills to the cabin!

We loved camping at Whiteface Lodge until the day we left and the our neighbors next to us, swore at us and used the f*** word multlple times. Pretty sad you can’t even have a nice weekend getaways with your friends and laugh, without people trying to ruin it. Were we loud yes, but at 10pm we were quiet and respectful. We enjoyed ourselves the last few years, but now it is becoming to busy.

Ester Cabin was great. Very close (about 50 feet) to the bathrooms, shower house, but not so close that it disturbed any privacy. Close to the game hall, waterfront, and washroom for dishes. Would stay again. Very quiet campground.

The campground was great! Deep, really deep into the plush forest. The There is a nice sandy beach with crystal clear water on the beautiful natural Massawepie lake. It’s secluded and not over run with campers. We felt like we were the only ones there for first two nights then a family with children came in. The camping spaces are far apart for the most part except the RV’s are fairly close to one another but I think they only have 8 lots for RV’s, 4 or 6 cabins or lodges and so many tent sites. There were by no means too many campers. It was rare if we saw any our whole vacation! So if you’re looking for camper camaraderie, this is not the place for you. Oh my goodness… hiking trails leading in every direction! It is so serene!! The campground has rowboats and canoes you can use. The beach area has a nice boat dock and out in the water it has a floating dock to dive off. No lifeguards to watch your kids so their guardians will need to watch them. Oh goodness… I almost forgot! It has a large rec hall with this beautiful huge rock formed fireplace and shelves of games for young and older!! There are pool table, air hockey, foosball, ping pong tables/games to play. Dining tables plus couches around the fireplace to unwind and socialize. Even has a soda/beverage vending machine in the rec hall. The cabins are so spacious and ours was as if it had been renovated a year or two ago. Beautiful knotty pine walls and pine framing. Furnished too! We loved it!

I loved camping at Whiteface Cabin on Massawepie Lake.. Mountaineer Family Camp host was extremely helpful, directions to the camp were clear. The cabin was clean and had all the necessary amenities. The views were stunning and night fishing had the best Bass! Great for people and families that want to totally “disconnect”.
