Stoney Goat Homestead

Gary and his son are building something really special. The goats were a lot of fun and the surroundings are beautiful. We really enjoyed our visit and highly recommend it!

GOAT with the Goats!

Gary’s homestead is amazing!! My partner and I stayed for the weekend and enjoyed every second. Highlights included feeding the goats, getting cozy in the covered wagon next to the wood-stove, and chatting with Gary about his land. Truly a perfect getaway for animal lovers and travelers who love to meet cool people with unique homes! Would definitely stay again, sending love to all the fur-babies. Thanks again Gary!

One of a kind experience!

Wow what a cool surprise this was, my girlfriend and I booked this last week for a quick getaway. Upon arrival we met with our host Gary, he gave us a tour of the property and explained his vision for the homestead, I just think it’s so cool in 2026 for a host to not care about gouging people for money, and genuinely wanting to show people it’s possible to live a self sustaining lifestyle. Gary provided all the firewood we could ask for free of charge and even started a fire for us the first night. The goats were AMAZING! Gary gave us a huge bucket of corn to go down and introduce ourselves, there had to be 40 of them including about 6 babies. It was heaven. The wagon itself was super comfortable with a small wood stove, and a nice queen bed. Gary brought us over some delicious fresh eggs from his chickens in the morning and man there was nothing like it. Well for sure be back, thank you so much Gary for all the hospitality and conversation. Ps give Sawyer a big pat on the head for us! -dylan and jess

My boyfriend, our dog, and I very much enjoyed our stay in the covered wagon. Gary couldn’t be a nicer guy and real genuine. He helped make our stay comfortable, giving us wood for the fire, some fresh eggs for breakfast, and corn to feed the friendliest goats. His dogs are sweet and friendly too. Our dog got to make new friends. We really loved every minute of our trip. I highly recommend choosing the Stoney Goat Homestead. It was a great place to unwind and forget about the stresses of life. I can’t wait to see how the homestead progresses into Gary’s vision. It’s already a great place. I wish we could’ve stayed longer but we’ll definitely be back for sure! Thanks so much Gary!!! : )

Gary a great hoast. He cut up plenty of wood for the inside fireplace to keep us warm through the night and even left us some fresh eggs for breakfast. The bed was comfy and the yurt was more spacious then it looked in the photos.

A rustic weekend getaway

We loved our time on the homestead! Gary is a very gracious host and was nothing but helpful the whole trip. The wagon stayed warm so long as we got off our butts to stick some wood in the stove. It was very comfy for our little trio, and my dog thoroughly enjoyed exploring the trails with us. The only downside of the entire trip was the hike down to the outhouse, but even that was manageable - we just needed to plan ahead for bathroom breaks. The goats were friendly and we appreciated the rooster alarm clock. I know the homestead is still a work in progress, which is why we're very excited to see what it looks like when we come back next year :)

Fantastic off grid camping

This is a fantastic off grid experience! Gary is so friendly and helpful that I felt right at home. The goats and pigs are friendly and my tent site was perfect with a fire pit nearby. I would recommend this experience to anyone.

A hidden gem of New York

I can’t say enough good things about our stay at Stony Goat Farm. It was magical. Gary is a humble and helpful and generous host. We had a romantic and adventurous little getaway and I definitely want to go back. The fall foliage was majestic, the animals were endearing and the cabin was quaint and perfect. It got pretty chilly during our late October trip but the stove kept us cozy. This place is a hidden gem of New York.

We had such a great time at the Stoney Goat Homestead. Gary was a very kind host with such a cool homestead. It was such a cool experience to be able to meet all his goats, pigs, chickens, dogs, and cats. His garden was incredible as well. The campsite itself was secluded and gave us enough space to pitch our tent, cook outdoor meals and have campfires. Would highly recommend camping here and we can’t wait to come back!!

Best camping experience so far, goats, dogs, chickens, pigs, coyotes howling at night, starry nights and a cozy little cabin, with plenty to hike near by. Great time, memories and getting to know Gary was the best part of it. A very humble and hard working human being, with big project in mind for his family, home, and campsite, We are already thinking of going back sometime soon already 🙌🏽. 10/10.

What Gary has to offer is simple but all the necessary essentials anyone could want. He and his animals are beyond welcoming and friendly and we were sad we only got to spend the short time we did with him. Anyone looking for a simple get away with all the nature and friends you could want, look no further. We can’t wait to visit again and see all the new additions!

Can’t wait to go back!

A slice of paradise! My husband and I spent 3 nights on Gary’s land and it was incredible. We never experienced a homestead before and not only did we enjoy spending time with the animals, we learned a lot about them. Gary is so kind and welcoming. He is putting so much love and care into his property and you can feel it. If you are looking for a place to disconnect and be out in nature off the grid, this is it!

Homestead getaway

It was amazing! Gary has a welcoming homestead with different camping experiences available. The animal interactions were the highlight of the trip. We were able to take a lesiure walk with some goats and feed the pigs. Gary is an exceptional host, enthusiastic and informative about the land and his animals. He even offered us fresh eggs from the chickens and they were delightful. 100% would recommend to anyone who loves the homestead lifestyle, a secluded getaway, or farm animals. We will definitely be staying there again.

Divine!!!!

Words can’t express how wonderful it was to experience this place. Gary is incredibly thoughtful, kind, and respectful. The animals are all so clearly well taken care of, kind and open to any pets and cuddles!!! Gary provided so many little amenities to help make our Yurt experience more comfortable and enjoyable - the color changing lights and the compost toilet right on the site definitely glammed up our camping experience. He was also so accommodating to our entire party, allowing us to pitch our tents near each other and provided goats to lead us on local walks :) There’s a beautiful picnic area just up the clearing that’s a great spot for stargazing, having a fire, or sitting around to play games or paint! There’s even a scenic view from the outhouse! There is so much firewood and kindling on the land - but he still went out of his way to help us gather more and start our fires. Truly above and beyond hosting! We cannot wait to come back soon :)

Amazing Camping With Goats

My group has the best time. We came as a group of 7 and booked all his campsites for the weekend. Gary let us stay at his new tent site that isn’t posted yet, which was next to the wagon; so we could all be together. We got to feed goats, take them on walks, and even spend time with Gary. He was so thoughtful and made sure we had a great time. His sites were beautiful and all super comfortable. The outhouse was super clean, and we will definitely be back! I would give this place 10000 stars if I could; but since I can’t, I’ll just give it a perfect 5!

Fun farm adventure!

We had so much fun camping at Gary’s awesome farm! The covered wagon was adorable and well made, and it was amazing to meet all the animals! Gary was thoughtful and generous, sharing stories and experiences of his farming life. We would love to go back!

This was an awesome place to camp! It was quiet, clean, private and peaceful. The outhouse was an inspiration to what all outhouses should be. It was clean, no smell, Nathan has a little hand sanitizer station set up. There was instant coffee, egg collector, and firewood. Who would have thought primitive camping could have amenities!! Nathan was extremely friendly and put a lot of thought into his campsites and campers. The goat were by far the friendliest goats I have ever encountered! Would definitely come back and recommend.

Very cozy camping area. Secluded in the woods with friendly goats and chickens. If you’re just looking for a little getaway to disconnect and vistit the fingerlake vineyards we would recommend this stay.

I had to cancel my booking here last minute due to weather concerns, and Nathan was SO helpful and gave me a full refund, going out of his way to do so. I wish I got to see this site!! He was very accommodating and easy to work with, and he responded so quickly to all my questions and concerns. I will be booking here again when I have a free weekend!!

Gary and nathan were awesome hosts would 100 percent reccomend. beautiful property and the animals are great. he greeted us with a variety of fresh vegetables from his garden and made us feel welcome from arriving. we collected fresh eggs from his chicken coop and they were delicious. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. make sure to write in the log in the outhouse if you visit!

Myself and 3 friends all absolutely loved our time at Stoney Goat Homestead. Aside from enjoying our time at the fire there was plenty to explore and we enjoyed talking to the owner, his son, and his son’s girlfriend. As an added bonus, we got fresh eggs and vegetables from the garden. Everyone had a great time playing with the goats, chickens, dogs, and cats! On the way home we were talking about how we’d all like to return next season and make more amazing memories at Stoney Goat Homestead 😁
