We believe in the simple things and are based on the song from Jonathan Edwards - Shanty - (Jonathan Edwards, November 1971)https://youtu.be/vH5qJNl8qDM. Come and kick back on a log or in the tree house or even cool your feet in the pond. There is 80 acres for you to pick the right spot for you. We are a hunting family so in woods areas are off limits during hunting season (Oct. – Early Dec.), but we have beautiful closer by camping areas during that season. We are sure you won’t be disappointed. We are within minutes from MANY state parks including the GRAND CANYON OF THE EAST – Letchworth State Park. During Feb and March, we will be busy making MAPLE SYRUP! Our children, grandchildren and friends are continuing the tradition. Summertime is filled with fishing and swimming and of course the occasional party. There is 80 acres for you to roam. Sites will be set on a first come first serve bases. Amy and The Stone Shanty were perfect for our stay while attending the hot air balloon festival at Letchworth State Park. Amy was super friendly and incredibly kind! Her property, including a pond, are great for stay while exploring the area. And her sweet doggie, Lulu, was a highlight with her daily visits!

We got a few camp spots because we were in a group. Travel trailer and tents. Both were perfect. Pond is nice with beautiful fish to look at. We didn’t get a chance to fish but we will be back

Fun property with so much to do! Amy is a wonderful host and was always making sure we had what we needed. The pond would be fun in the summer!!

Lovely people, refreshingly quiet! A lot within a couple hours of this place, or you can just hang out and enjoy the peace. Got a lot of rest I needed, plus the opportunity to see Niagara Falls for the first time in my life, as well as found a few gems of breweries/restaurants/coffee shops I otherwise would have glossed over if I had just stayed at Niagara. Owners do have quite the collection of miscellaneous items around the property. Didn’t bother me, but if you’ve only stayed at manicured campsites and/or are someone who does not like clutter, this location might not be for you…

Amy is a very pleasant host and she tries to accommodate her guests. There was rain the night before and she allowed us to pick out a spot that wasn’t wet and even got us a fire pit to use! They had a dj the night before and laser tags as well!

Amy is the kindest host you could ever imagine. The place at the lake is so nice as well as the people there. We had a happy time together, wonderful talks and the best Maple Sirup ever… a must try… from scratch of course!!! There’s really nothing to worry about, you won’t regret to choose the Stone Shanty for a stay, promise!

Amy was very kind upon arrival and gave me a quick tour of the property. Our dogs were able to play off leash together but she asked first if it was okay. The outhouse and outdoor kitchen are are very nice! Amy let me park close to both since I was the only camper there.

Feel like family camping experience

So where to begin. A beautiful hour and a half ride right out of Buffalo and you land in the beautiful scenic campsite. Loaded with things to do such as kayaks ,canoes, stocked bass pond, outdoor kitchen, enormous fire pit, tree house, and lovely forested walking routes in the woods. Right away when we got there we were greeted by Amy and her friendly puppy and given a nice tour and some lovely conversation. Throughout the weekend (labor day) we're we're introduced to family as they came over to celebrate and included our camping group as one of their own. Libations and stories were shared from both groups leading to some wonderful nights and friendships. Early mornings would start with a few of us fishing and even one of family catching a 5lb bass. It was a biiiig fish haha. Overall this felt more like being invited over by family for a fun get together. It was camping with all the perks! The best part has to be the host and the people around her they were so inviting and kind it really made the weekend. If you like tarot, beers, good vibes,fishing and of course maple syrup. This is 100 percent the place to check out.

Amy is a very kind and gracious host. She has an awesome property with something for everyone. Her communication is excellent and answers questions quickly. Fishing on the pond for bass was a blast! She also has walking trails and the "outhouse" was great. All the cooking necessities are there and campfires galore. It was a lot of fun!

Absolutely amazing in every aspect! Amy always went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best it could possibly be! Lulu the pup was perfectly well behaved and got along perfectly with our dog! We had our own fire pit and secluded site so we could have our own time, but there is also the Party Pit, where there's all the cooking supplies you could need, plus a fridge, plus people to share great stories with! The pond is perfect for fishing, the bass are super active! Amazing for hammock campers, very short walk from parking to your campsite, outhouse with flushing toilet was a great luxury! Amy went out of her way to make sure we felt like family there, between Amy, Lulu, and the amazing property, we will definitely be back!

This campsite is absolutely fantastic We had a great stay at Amy's campsite. Amy makes you feel comfortable and at home. You can share your experience with other campers around the fire or playing cards. I highly recommend Amy's land. If you like maple syrup, you can ask Amy to sell you some of her own.

Best Camping Experience Ever

I have been camping for over 20 years and I can honestly say this was my best experience at a campground that I have EVER had. As someone who works in the travel industry, I am absolutely beyond impressed with Amy and her family. They were amazing, even her grandsons were assisting her around the property, they were present if we needed something but respected our space and boundaries. Incredibly dog friendly people, their pup LuLu was my dogs best friend this weekend. Amy personally took campers on a tour of their beautiful property, played games with us at night, and so many other awesome things that made us feel like distant relatives reconnecting, not strangers on their land. There is an incredible common area with a bar, tons of seating, games, full fridge and freezer, appliances, and a Blackstone grill! All of that and more like use of their kayaks and boats for leisure and fishing, is included! I will absolutely 100% be returning very frequently on weekends to disconnect from reality and enjoy myself. Thank you for everything Amy! Give LuLu lots of love for us!!

The stone shanty had everything that we could have needed and more! The property was gorgeous and clearly well cared for. We were a little nervous using Hipcamp for the first time but Amy made the experience super easy. We felt very safe on the property and it was so nice to wake up to a view of the pond. Highly recommend staying here!!

Amy met us as we drove in and was very welcoming. The area she offered was more than enough room and we set up our tent near the pond. There was a clean bathroom building for us to use very close by. There were trails to wander in the woods and she has this amazing outdoor kitchen that she allows campers to use that include a sink, refrigerator, and grill, along with several tables to use. Amy checked in with us after a couple hours to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed ourselves and would come back again.

The Stone Shanty property is really something special. The sun rises over the large pond each morning while many different bird species fill the space. The pond was amazing not only to sit in front of and read, but also to fish in (we caught & released a bunch of large mouth bass), for the dogs to play in, and Amy let our children use the paddle boat. Yes... Amy... She met us as soon as we arrived to greet us and show us to our area to set up. She might just be the best host around. Amy showed us around, told us all about their Maple syrup making process, and even came down from the house one morning to gift us a little jar of the syrup. She checked in each day to see if we needed anything, and she did so much to help us feel right at home. There was a cute little outhouse (with elec. and running water), a huge fire pit area with plenty of seats and plenty of trails through the woods to walk and explore. Our dogs were able to be off-leash the whole time, which was amazing. Amy had a few dogs of her own that would play with our dogs and kids. Our kids had an absolute blast - so much so that they both asked when we could return again. It's the little things that make a difference to us - for example: One morning Amy came down to the site with grapefruits to share with us, and our son couldn't get enough of them! The next morning we woke to more on the table. We will return to the Stone Shanty - 100%. What a beautiful property!

It's a beautiful spot. There's no doubt about that. Our host was very friendly and welcoming. Even making us coffee when we arrived tired. The dogs were a whole treat, and friendly as well. The only downsides were 1) I wouldn't call it wheelchair accessible, however as rain renders the terrain too muddy for any wheeled mobility device and there is no hard pathway. I couldn't even unload my power wheelchair and the extra walking was not something I had planned on. 2) There was also no firewood and we had to go into town and buy it which got a bit expensive and surely took a lot of time and gas we didn't plan on. Otherwise a fun stay.

Really nice spot by the pond! Sunrises are beautiful. Amy is super friendly and helpful. We had a19’ RV and hooking up to electric was no problem at all. We had the place to ourselves so it was very quiet. The spot sits off the road a bit which is quiet anyway but even more peaceful once you’re at the pond. We’d stay again in a heartbeat!

Excellent location with a beautiful pond. They have maple syrup and she even brought out hot coffee for breakfast (I put syrup in mine).

We stayed 2 nights. Amy and Rick were great hosts. They even left fresh produce for us. The site was very quiet and the full moon rose over their pond. It was beautiful. As a Verizon customer, the signal was not great, but that is just what we needed. We spent some time catching up on reading our books. This is close to Letchworth and a very good BBQ place! We will definitely stay the next time we visit Letchworth!

We had a really great time here! Amy was very accommodating and offered so much to us she is an amazing host! The kids did not want to get out of the water and they had a lot of fun! Our host also makes the best syrup! Amy we would like to buy some of that syrup! I would recommend this place to everyone
