James had a nice, clean property and was very welcoming when we arrived. Directions were clear. He was hospitable and checked on us to make sure that we had everything we needed before settling in. Great experience overall!

Me and my group went on a really rainy 3 day span, we ended up being the only ones camping there, James upgraded us to a better spot in the camp site which was awesome! James was very accommodating and helpful to us throughout our time there! Very beautiful land and a decent amount of places to explore!

The campsite was great. It was very remote and quiet, no road noise, and we could hear the peepers all night. James was a great host and gave us our space while letting us know he was available if we needed anything. He also showed my son some deer antler sheddings in the morning and gave him a turkey feather he found! We only stayed for 1 night, but it was a perfect place to stay.

Absolute gem of a property tucked into the farmlands of NY! James was an absolutely amazing host, not only do I recommend for other but I'll 100% be back several times over again.
Restroom.... Disc Golf Basket! Garbage cans. Recycling cans, fire pits...

absolutely amazing views, camping spots, and hospitality! firewood was delivered right to us and we even got some background on the history of Jim Thorpe. we will 100000% be back!

James is an amazing host! He is accommodating, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He made our stay super easy and comfortable. We had a lovely fire, thanks to James delivering wood and sticks so that we could get it going with these. I highly recommend Apple Cove, peaceful, quiet and located near some great outdoor activities.

Overall a good spot, not hard to get to and private once you get back to your site.
Beautiful spot to see the stars too!
Not all the sites had a good spot to pitch a tent, sometimes the gravel drive expanded a bit far

This place was wonderful for our Eclipse gathering! James was a gracious and helpful host who ensured we had everything we needed on his beautiful property. I wish we lived closer so we could have more reasons to come back sooner!

I drove up for the eclipse in a group of 9, and we had an amazing time! James is an amazing host, he's quick to respond, tentative to the campsite, and a delight to talk to. Apple Cove is a beautiful place, the wildlife is diverse, the campsites are well set up, and I'm excited to return someday.
They have extra camping supplies to rent or buy if you forget something. He also has a couple of telescopes which people are welcome to borrow, and the sky there is dark so there are a ton of stars.

Everybody working there is so kind and helpful and the place is amazing. We had a party of 20 at two campsites and it all still felt so spacious and serene. Super new and clean porta potty on site, awesome creek running behind the sites to explore, and nice flat land for our tents. We stayed to watch the solar eclipse and it was perfect. Will be returning.

This cabin was nice and new!
Has 2 nice single size cota.
The land is beautiful with lots of apple trees, newly planted trees and lots of wildlife.
The fall foliage this time of year was a site to see.
Lots of trails to walk and see the property.
15 minutes from Letchworth State Park
Host was attentive with answering questions.

Great secluded camping right next to Letchworth State Park, perfect for an autumn camping trip. Fields were well maintained for setting up our campsite and the trees around the location were beautiful. Nice and quiet, too. Restroom facilities were clean and firewood was available, no complaints from anybody in our group! Definitely want to come back someday.

We absolutely loved our stay at Apple Cove. James and his boys were so sweet and so helpful. James gave us a tour of his beautiful property, including the brand new cabin him and his boys built, and let us choose where we wanted to camp for the night. We ended up choosing a beautiful spot right by the creek. There are many well marked trails around the property that we were able to explore once we set up camp. We had a ton of privacy and couldn't hear any traffic. It was a very safe, beautiful camping experience, only a few minutes outside of Letchworth. Next time we are in Letchworth, we will definitely be staying here again!

Our "blue picnic table" site was perfect for our camper van. We had a peaceful evening with visiting deer (and they came again to say good morning). Totally rustic property. Thank you James!

Apple Cove
Apple Cove is fantastic! It is so much more than the photos show.
We stayed for 2 nights in our small vintage camper with our dogs. The property has so many places to explore. We really loved being next to the creek which was great for cooling off on a hot day.
Camping here is primitive. We used water from the creek for our shower, our generator for power, and a lug-a-lue toilet. There is an outhouse on site.
The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful with anything you may need. We will definitely stay again!

James’s land is perfect fir hipcamp. Each site is unique. Some are large sunny, grassy areas while others are tucked away under shade, in little private coves and even in the old apple grove.
He keeps the grass very well manicured and his fire rings travel to the spot you choose. That was the best part. He lets you decide. I was there for two weeknights and after he left it was just me. It was SO quiet. There’s not even any traffic noise which is really hard to escape. The stars were incredible as well. I felt very safe and content during my stay.

Apple cove is a great place to camp. I stayed by the small playground and by 7 year old had a blast playing and exploring around the creek. I look forward to my next trip to the letchworth area. I know where im camping. James was very welcoming and very kind person. Took the time to show is around a made sure he was there if we need anything.

Apple cove is a wonderful spot, full of beautiful trails and spacious camping set ups. James is a wonderful and accommodating host. We set up on friendship field and spent the weekend enjoying the wind through the birch trees, listening to the frogs and watching the field mice enjoy our fire pit. A truly wonderful experience and we will come back!

This was our first time using the app and this site was everything I thought a Hipcamp would be. We camp in the back of our SUV and many times stealth camp in parking lots such as Walmart when traveling. James met us when we arrived, showed us the different sites and let us choose our perfect site. Once we did, we had some shopping we had to do and when we returned, James had placed a fire ring, trash can and recycle bin at our site. James also provided firewood for a nominal fee. We chose a site in an open field, near the woods, it was perfect. James also had sites nestled among the trees, which would have good for a tent, or a small SUV such as ours. All in all we had a very peaceful night and will definitely stay here again when we hike Letchworth State Park again.

If you don't mind trading a short drive to Letchworth State Park for peace, quiet, and a more authentic camping experience, Apple Cove should fit your needs. My experience was a great one. On the occasion that I visited, I was the only camper and the only sounds that I heard were from the local wildlife and apples fall from the trees. James communicated very well and I enjoyed my stay enough to recommend and book again in the future if/when I return.
