Thank you Hipcamp and all of the beautiful people whom we have the pleasure of hosting at Pooh’s Corner! It’s a new year, a new season of camping, and another opportunity to camp with us.
We hope you enjoy Pooh's Corner as much as we enjoy having all of you great Hipcampers sharing our beautiful Fingerlakes Region with us.
Pooh's Corner lies in a rural area just 1.5 miles from Watkins Glen. (3315 County Road 28, Watkins Glen, NY 14891). We took great care to make sure each campsite is PRIVATE (parking on-site*) and the trails are easily navigable. Our 'Welcome Shed' is equipped with a compost toilet, local information, (newly added) Hot Water Station, first-aid kit, charging station, bug spray etc. and is located in a safe, well lit, open area on the property. Each site is equipped with a fire pit and comfortable seating with tables, chairs, and/or picnic tables and tripod grills. Firewood is available on a donation basis.
There are State Parks and places to hike one of the many gorges around beautiful Seneca Lake and surrounding area. Take a tour of the many wineries and breweries which our region is famous for. Enjoy hiking, swimming, biking, kayaking, and many historical sites to see. Our reviews tell it all. We know you'll love it here :)
*PLEASE NOTE: Our sites are custom made for TENT or CAR camping. Because we have "parking on-site", Large RVs, Campers (over 16'), and any 5th-wheel campers are very difficult to place since there are no easy ways to back in or turn around. We highly recommend "Havana Glen State Park" (same general area) for those types of camping units.

This picturesque family farm is conveniently located just 80 miles from both Manhattan and Albany. Riverside Farm offers 1600 feet of direct river access, ponds, rolling meadows and woodlands. You’ll have 50 acres of freedom to enjoy at your leisure. There are convenient walking paths cut throughout the property to help guide you. The farm is yours to explore, check out the beautiful, historical barns, old school hand water pumps, the old-world windmill and other hidden treasures. All the campsites have plenty of space between each other (roughly 300 ft), and they all have their own access points to the river.
We are approximately 1.5 miles from Angry Orchard Cider House. The new City Winery in Montgomery is minutes away. We are located right in the middle of the Shawangunk Wine Trail and have dozens of wineries and craft breweries within 20 miles of the farm. World class hiking trails and breathtaking views await at Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Mountain House, both just 15 miles away. The Bashakill Preserve is home to some of the best bird watching in the Northeast and is 5 miles away. The walkway over the Hudson and fine dining options at Newburgh's waterfront are also within a short 20 minute drive. The Shawangunk, Wallkill and Hudson Valley rail trails are easily accessible for those wanting to bike or jog. Towner's Country Paradise started out as a wild forest and pasture for cows in the 1940's, owned by Llewellyn Towner. In the 1960s, Llewellyn's love for aviation led him to construct a small airstrip and hangar, and then his son Terry began to plant Christmas Trees (no more cows) and clear much of the land. By the early 1970's our main and largest pond was built and since that time our fully functional cabin, several more fish ponds, roads, trails, running water and generated electricity have been added. Christmas Trees are still grown and harvested by Terry's son Scott Towner. Green rolling hills, deep valleys, a waterfall, ponds stocked with fish, a fully functional cabin, herds of deer, flocks of turkey and Canada Geese, & well-maintained roads and trails here in Addison NY. Sweeping pastoral hillsides mixed with densely wooded private acres make our camps unique, each one offering a different experience. A developed network of our own marked trails for exploring, our private red slate swimming quarry with docks and seating, and catch release fishing at 2 ponds are a few things to enjoy here. Slate Valley Trails and Merck Forest are close by. Places to picnic, enjoy the sunset, and idle are a plenty. Our farm stand is stocked with seasonal produce, jams, eggs, and bagged ice. Spring water is available. Excellent locally burgers, steaks, chicken and more are available as pre-order EXTRAS.

Ugly Apple Farms was started by my Wife and to try to bring fresh organic/permaculture
food to our community. We love to play music and get together with our friends and have been hosting people for some time. We thought that hipcamp could introduce people to our mission and make some extra money to get the farm off the ground.
Ugly Apple Farms is a diverse place. We have opportunities for farm classes, pick your own veggies and more. We also have 1800 feet of access to the Neversink River.
We recommend four wheel drive for some of our sites so please ask about them.
We are an off grid farm with access to some solar for charging. We have tent sites and room for campers. Our camping is primitive but there is access to potable water and sanitation if needed. All extras are first come first serve if not reserved in advance. We love and welcome any questions!

This campsite is nestled in the deep woods of a 120 acre farm that offers beautiful views coming and going. After being allowed to use the restroom at the stone farmhouse, you will then go rustic and start your 3/4 - 1 mile hike in (approximately 20 minutes to the campsite) past the fields and pond down the path into the woods. The trail is remote and you will instantly be able to leave the sights and sounds of civilization behind you and breath the clean forest air. Wear good hiking shoes because portions of the hike are uneven and rocky.
This site is best for experienced campers who know how to pack light with just the essentials as there is no tractor service to this campsite.
When you arrive at the campsite, you will be within 20 feet of a year round stream with brook trout and in a hundred foot tall hemlock canopy nestled between two brook meadows. A 9,000 acre forested preserve abuts our property so you will be able to completely relax, bird watch, enjoy the wildlife, or fish for a brook trout breakfast without hearing the sounds of anyone but yourselves.
The campsite has a stone fire pit, split log benches for seating, a canvas privacy blind around a stand of trees where the composting toilet resides, and a food bag lift to attach your food and trash bags to about 100 yards from the campsite.
Unlimited Split firewood is free next to where you will park that you can take down to the site. All trash needs to be carted out with you. We can't accept mixed trash as it will attract animals that will knock over the trashcans and make a mess. No food goes in our personal trashcans as we have learned this the hard way. Thanks!

This off-the-grid tiny house is nestled on a 23 acre parcel at the end of a quarter-mile dirt road. The property itself is secluded but is less than 2 miles from the heart of Saranac Lake's downtown. This property is bordered by the Saranac River, the backside of Baker Mountain and State Forest. The only other building on the property is our timberframe which we may or may not be at during the time of your visit. The property does have private trails up to the cliffs on the backside of Baker mtn however, the Saranac River is down a steep embankment so it does not make for a good place to launch a boat (several public boat launches nearby).
The Mt Baker tiny house is a great basecamp for hiking the Saranac Lake 6-ers, paddling/boating along the Saranac Chain of lakes or Saranac River, Mountain Biking at Dewey, Pisgah or other nearby BETA trails.
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
This tiny cabin is completely off the grid: no electricity, heat or cooling.
Queen sized bed - we provide the linens.
The driveway is narrow - so nothing in tow.

Wonderful stay at Site 3. It’s tucked away from the other sites and right on the river. The site itself is well maintained and super clean. The farm has nicely manicured pathways for exploring. My dog had a blast running through the fields. Sam and Melissa are very responsive—providing directions to the site, delivering eggs, and checking in about firewood. I appreciated the hospitality. Absolutely plan to come back!

Melissa and Sam's camp sites are beautifully located with unimpeded river views on one side and beautiful fields with walking paths and rolling hills on the other. Their farm fresh eggs are delicious (and colorful!) and they're gracious and well organized hosts. Plenty of walking paths to keep kids (and adults) occupied. We hope to come back before too long.

We had an amazing time on site 5 with a group of 14 campers. The property is incredibly beautiful and well maintained, and the river access and views were fantastic. Also the amount of birds and fireflies was a testament to how ecologically healthy and diverse this place was. It was such an awesome time that we are already planning our next trip!

We had a blast at Sarah's campsite! The setup was beautiful and serene. There were other campers on the property but they were far away and it felt very private. We did hear a sound check and music set from City Winery but luckily the festivities seemed to have wrapped up by ~6p and the music was fun.

There is plenty of flat space to set up tents, nice and grassy. Nice area to watch sunset and moonrise. We opted not to set up down by the river because the path (just a few feet further down) was pretty steep and we knew we’d be going back and forth from the fire and the car. But we would return!

We loved the cabin and the surrounding area. It really gave us the quiet break we needed. It is basic but has got everything you need. We would've just preferred to know before the booking how many mosquitoes there would be. It is impossible to stay outside, you're instantly surrounded by thousands of them.

Had a great time at Knotty pines! The site is quite private and has tons of room, it could definitely fit a bigger group of people. There’s also a basketball court that’s available to guests which is pretty cool. Will definitely be back if we’re in the area!

This was my 4th stay at Towner's and as per usual it was a great time! The pond is great for fishing, bundles of firewood for sale onsite, beautiful views, and a friendly atmosphere. Absolutely recommend!

Loved camping here! The site was large and private. Great view of the creek from the fire pit. Lots of wildlife - we saw a mink and a heron! Definitely check out the waterfall.

I loved how secluded everything was, and with such an amazing site by the river! Even with the other campsites, it always felt like it was just us in our little area. Would definitely come by again and bring friends!

A perfect stay with so much space for our group of 10 to spread out as if we had the whole place to ourselves. If you need anything (firewood, charcoal) they respond immediately by call or text and you’ll get what you need. Great to always come back to if you want to get away from it all!

Incredible stay! What a perfect place to launch or end a river trip, hang out on a farm or enjoy a quiet weekend in the woods. Will def return for more river trips soon!!

I tent camped in the beginning of May, it was very quiet, Molly was extremely nice and very accommodating. As with all outdoor activities I would suggest treating clothes, shoes & gear with insect and/or tick repellant and do proper body checks for ticks. I didnt find any on me or any of my gear the next morning but i did see one crawling on the firewood. That being said I would definitely camp there again. Be safe out there
