We took great care to make sure each campsite is PRIVATE (parking on-site*) and the trails are easily navigable. Our 'Welcome Shed' is equipped with a compost toilet, local information, (newly added) Hot Water Station, first-aid kit, charging station, bug spray etc. and is located in a safe, well lit, open area on the property. Each site is equipped with a fire pit and comfortable seating with tables, chairs, and/or picnic tables and tripod grills. Firewood is available on a donation basis. There are State Parks and places to hike one of the many gorges around beautiful Seneca Lake and surrounding area. Take a tour of the many wineries and breweries which our region is famous for. Enjoy hiking, swimming, biking, kayaking, and many historical sites to see. Our reviews tell it all. We know you'll love it here :) *PLEASE NOTE: Our sites are custom made for TENT or CAR camping. Because we have "parking on-site", Large RVs, Campers (over 16'), and any 5th-wheel campers are very difficult to place since there are no easy ways to back in or turn around. We have opportunities for farm classes, pick your own veggies and more. We also have 1800 feet of access to the Neversink River. We recommend four wheel drive for some of our sites so please ask about them. We are an off grid farm with access to some solar for charging. We have tent sites and room for campers. This land was once all pasture for grazing animals. We moved to Delaware County in November 2018 to start our family and pursue dreams of working on the land. The initial idea was to find a place we could live, garden, and raise a few animals while hosting guests and sharing the land with visitors. When we found this place on Williams Road, we loved the mix of rural and proximity to a thriving country town. We now have two kids and enjoy living in Delhi so much we hardly leave the town limits! There are wonderful restaurants, a great year-round farmers market, grocery stores, and many other services and amenities you can find listed towards the end of this guide. Our Catskill Mountain home is situated on a historic early 19th century farm site. Parts of the house might be more than 190 years old! With several additions and upgrades we think the house has lots of charm and enjoy the many modern touches. The property is overgrown pastures and a few steeper slopes with medium growth trees. After the industrial period saw this region nearly deforested, the land was granted to settlers who cleared fields and planted grass. Our immediate vicinity was knows for it’s cattle (Bovina), mostly for diary, and sheep. The agriculture in Delaware County has been on a decline since the advent of rail shipping opened New York City markets to farms in less challenging geographies. Construction of the NYC fresh water system (DEP Watershed) may have contributed to this decline, but about 60-70 years ago the majority of pastures, especially less productive parcels were abandoned to the “weed trees”. These first succession trees grew quickly in the sunny meadows and covered the hills; trees such as Ash, Hawthorn, and Norway Spruce. Fences and barns were left to return to the earth. On our property the stone walls that boarder the fields are the most stark reminder of the intensive agriculture practiced here.

Only a quick drive to Tannersville, Hunter, Windham, Palenville, Woodstock, Phoenicia, Catskill and Saugerties where you can explore the cute town, restaurants, and shops. The site is perched on the banks of the Roaring Kill Stream, perfect for swimming and fishing. There are also lots of flat areas to put additional tents. Great access to the Roaring Kill Trailhead and to the Devil's Path Hiking Trail. If you're looking for some water activities take a short drive to Colgate Lake. Site guidelines Do be careful driving on the dirt jeep track out to the camp. Don't miss swimming in the Roaring Kill Falls. Do leave the campsite just as you found it. "Don't feed the bears." Seriously, do keep a very clean camp. Do ask questions about local activities- swimming holes, hiking, etc. Please take all trash with you, leave no trace!

This campsite is nestled in the deep woods of a 120 acre farm that offers beautiful views coming and going. After being allowed to use the restroom at the stone farmhouse, you will then go rustic and start your 3/4 - 1 mile hike in (approximately 20 minutes to the campsite) past the fields and pond down the path into the woods. The trail is remote and you will instantly be able to leave the sights and sounds of civilization behind you and breath the clean forest air. Wear good hiking shoes because portions of the hike are uneven and rocky. This site is best for experienced campers who know how to pack light with just the essentials as there is no tractor service to this campsite. When you arrive at the campsite, you will be within 20 feet of a year round stream with brook trout and in a hundred foot tall hemlock canopy nestled between two brook meadows. A 9,000 acre forested preserve abuts our property so you will be able to completely relax, bird watch, enjoy the wildlife, or fish for a brook trout breakfast without hearing the sounds of anyone but yourselves. The campsite has a stone fire pit, split log benches for seating, a canvas privacy blind around a stand of trees where the composting toilet resides, and a food bag lift to attach your food and trash bags to about 100 yards from the campsite. Unlimited Split firewood is free next to where you will park that you can take down to the site. All trash needs to be carted out with you. We can't accept mixed trash as it will attract animals that will knock over the trashcans and make a mess. No food goes in our personal trashcans as we have learned this the hard way. Weekend Trip to Steady Slope Fields and Forest

We absolutely loved our stay! Even on a rainy day, we had such a great time thanks to the sauna, which made the experience even more special. The morning visits from Pepper and Ripley were such a sweet bonus! The best part was how peaceful and secluded the property was — exactly what we were looking for! Chris and Amanda were both incredibly welcoming and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed. We couldn't have asked for a better getaway. We'll definitely be back!! ❤️

Weekend Trip to Pneuma Acres

We only got to spend one night at the site for a short weekend trip but it was perfect! Steven was the kindest host and helped bring our gear to/from the site in the rain, with very short notice about when we were arriving. We enjoyed the peaceful site with our reactive dog, and Steven was especially accommodating of her and let us know he would keep his dog inside if we didn‘t want our pups to meet. We are definitely looking forward to coming back.

Weekend Trip to Upper Shire Campsites Hudson Valley

Joanna has created a magical private camping experience in Hillsdale, New York! You can feel her vision and passion throughout the details of the property. I had the luxury of staying at the Pine Grove Bell Tent, which was is the Yurt outfitted with a queen sized blow up mattress. The yurt along with the ground were very clean upon arrival as was the whole property. Well maintained, groomed and clearly seeded with care. I took this trip as a solo getaway from the day-to-day in life, to clear my mind and heart. I felt the 2 nights spent at the Upper Shire has been instrumental in supporting me in that process. If you're looking for a private campground run by a passionate and caring owner, I strongly suggest staying at Upper Shire with Joanna anytime of the year!

Enjoyed our stay, Steve was very responsive and welcoming and the site was well kept. Nice fire pit and nice toilet- a little far from the site. Quite tucked away site- didn’t even hear the people at the other site. Can hear some coyotes at night but they are far- and lots of birds. Will stay again. 👍🏽. Thanks Steve.

We had a great time here! The campsite was in very good condition, and the wood-oven heater in the tent was really nice for the chilly evenings. There was also lots of space for additional tents, so it would also be a perfect spot for a bigger group. It’s also right by Kaaterskill falls, which was absolutely beautiful.

Incredible stay! The sunset views were amazing, the giant fire pit basin was so warm and protected the fire perfectly. The site was clean, pit toilet was great, and Heather was so friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend!

Terrace farm is a slice of heaven! Stayed at beechwood with some friends. Private and deep in the woods. The campsite was covered with woodchips which provided comfortable grounds for sleeping. Very clean outhouse. Bear box on site. Heard owls and wildlife at night!

Weekend Trip to Upper Shire Campsites Hudson Valley

Another year another campout at Upper Shire. We love this place, the area and Joanna. This time we stayed at the new cabin. So cozy, specially this rainy windy weekend. We didn’t mind, made it more cozy. There’s a mini propane heater with a glass front that added ambiance and warmth to the cabin. Do I need to mention the outdoor showers again? My absolute favorite part, specially with fall brisk temperatures. Instant and endless hot water gives you time to enjoy the moment. The surrounding area has so many choices of top notch breakfast lunch and dinner. Hudson is 30 minutes with tons of restaurants and you’re right on the border of Massachusetts where there’s even more to do. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you again Joanna!

3 nights at ADK Saddle Hill

Incredible views of the mountains from our campsite. We even had visitors (horses) on multiple occasions. (There was an electric fence that they couldn't cross but they were super friendly and appreciated the attention!) Proximity to the 87 meant lots of road noise but it didn't bother us too much. Would definitely visit again!
