For July 4th weekend, and Labor Day weekend drive-up sites are a 2 night minimum. Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock.
The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you!
Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool.
Our location is convenient to the Berkshire Mountains, state parks, hiking and other attractions, including Ramble Wild tree to tree adventures and Jiminy Peak. There are a few miles of rail trail access just down the road.

For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka.
Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinary spots on earth that make you feel like you’re in another world. The sites aren’t suitable for parties or loud groups.
It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below.
The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls.
Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside
At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. There are 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water.
This is a leave no trace site. Take all your trash with you when you leave. Bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty!
Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log.
The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by.
Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). Nearby hikes include Looking Glass Pond and Vroman's Nose, and others.

Sweeping pastoral hillsides mixed with densely wooded private acres make our camps unique, each one offering a different experience. A developed network of our own marked trails for exploring, our private red slate swimming quarry with docks and seating, and catch release fishing at 2 ponds are a few things to enjoy here. Slate Valley Trails and Merck Forest are close by. Places to picnic, enjoy the sunset, and idle are a plenty. Our farm stand is stocked with seasonal produce, jams, eggs, and bagged ice. Spring water is available. Excellent locally burgers, steaks, chicken and more are available.

Fantastic place for fall camping. Very quiet, with everything you could need. Well maintained sites, nice camp store, beautiful grounds. Bathroom and shower area very clean, good water pressure and nice hot water. Two thumbs up!!!❤️

What a special place! My pup and I stayed in the Hemlock Cabin, super cozy over two nights of rain. When it cleared during the day, we enjoyed long walks on the trails through the property. Sarah and Doug were excellent hosts, ensuring I had all I needed to be comfortable. Looking forward to returning!

Incredible stay! The sunset views were amazing, the giant fire pit basin was so warm and protected the fire perfectly. The site was clean, pit toilet was great, and Heather was so friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend!

Incredible views of the mountains from our campsite. We even had visitors (horses) on multiple occasions. (There was an electric fence that they couldn't cross but they were super friendly and appreciated the attention!) Proximity to the 87 meant lots of road noise but it didn't bother us too much. Would definitely visit again!

Weekend Trip to Waterfall Sanctuary & Quiet Retreat
Our stay at the Starlight Cabin was wonderful - the cabin itself is great, tucked away in the woods (there was another couple staying at the other Wildflower cabin while we were here but our space felt completely private). The waterfall is truly a magical experience, there’s something so special about this space & being able to experience it with just us two was incredible. Definitely would stay again… plus Amy is a great host & very responsive!

First time to this campground, clean and well maintained. One note to know is that the campground store is closed on Monday so if you need wood good luck…. Didn’t even see any in the area from regular neighbors. Other than that it was pretty nice.

Slateville Farm was a great place for our group to camp. Heather was friendly and always quick to respond to our queries and requests. The Farm is unique, with gorgeous views, spacious, well maintained, and has a fantastic swimming spot with kayaks available to take a little paddle around. We met some other campers at the Quarry pond, but otherwise it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The other campers were singing the sites praises as well and we all agreed, this is the type of place you come to again and again. We had a great experience and look forward to visiting again!

This was easily one of our favorite Hipcamp experience yet! Finding the farmhouse via GPS was easy, and we even had LTE/5G service high up at the Oak Tree site. Heather welcomed us right as we arrived and walked us through her well-stocked farm stand, which has everything from fresh eggs and produce to extra camping gear. After showing us the property layout, including the clean shower and flush toilet, she drove us up to the Oak Tree site and took the time to answer all of our questions about the property, the sites, and a little history of the farm.
The views from the site are absolutely jaw-dropping. The campsite itself is massive, beautifully maintained, and fully equipped with an outhouse, a picnic table, and plenty of firewood. We loved getting full morning sun followed by refreshing afternoon shade. We did have a bit of rain during our stay but made do. While there was so much more to see and do around the property, that million-dollar view was hard to leave!
One the way out, we bought some produce at the stand and Heather took the time to run to her coop and gather fresh eggs. We couldn't have asked for a nicer host or amazing camping experience! Would highly recommend and plan on returning to stay at some of their other unique sites.

This was a great experience. Drove right up to our site and it was an amazing site. Nice amount of space with a picnic table. The night sky was incredible!! Thomas was a great host. I highly recommend camping here. I will absolutely be back in the future when I’m back in the NY area.
