The fields have been maintained to some degree until 2019 when Lee came up with the idea of primitive camping. The land turns out to be ideal because each site makes you feel like the only campers there.

We live on 52 wooded acres in a natural area surrounded by lakes and ponds just 14 miles north of Montpelier VT. We are located on the Green Mountain Gravel Growler bike packing trail and 7 miles south of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. We have lots of hiking , biking, boating and swimming opportunities nearby. Our amenity's include a bath house and laundry. We have two 30 amp RV sites with full hook ups and 4 tent/small RV non electric sites. We are 100% solar powered and have good WIFI but no cell service. We cater to small quiet groups who can enjoy our peaceful setting. If your are bike packing and our sites are booked just text or stop in we will accommodate you.
The campground is located along our town road and the sites are 50 - 100 feet apart along our driveway. This is not a wilderness experience you will have neighbors, including us.
We are a family friendly, non smoking campground. We are open early May till late October. Pets on leashes are OK. Quiet time is all the time :~). 12 and under free, no Generators.

Conserved by the South Hero Land Trust, the historic Sawyer Bay Farm on the Island of South Hero was converted to grazing beef cattle.
Our farm name is Health Hero Farm.
We practice intensive planned grazing, moving the cattle daily to fresh grass. The herd may be near the campsites or completely out of sight, somewhere on our 180 acres.
While we were building a house, we camped in the equipment shed during the summer and grew to value its convenience.
Joan's enjoyment of cycling inspired her to designate the farm stand as a "bike stop" where visitors could buy a snack, get water, fix their bikes and use the unique islands amenity of a composing toilet in a converted ice fishing shack. A port-a-potty is available during high season.
South Hero is an agricultural island, as well as a summer tourist destination with numerous outdoor activities.
It is also only a half-hour away from Burlington, and the drive is pleasurable.
Pitch your tent, stow your gear under cover and explore all the islands have to offer. Yes, this is a summer destination, with great cycling, boating and swimming. We are a grass-fed beef operation, Health Hero Farm, on the island of South Hero.

Our farm is on the bike route around the islands, with access to many other vacation activities.
Pitch your tent in the farmstead or in half of our empty equipment shed 30' x 60'. Or tool on down the farm road and be alone with the cattle and grass. In the shed, which is open on the north side, you have shelter from the rain, sun and wind. We have two campsites that can share a microwave, hot plate, refrigerator, camp sink and coffee maker in the barn. Lots of storage under roof for bikes and luggage. Our composting toilet (from Natures Head Composting Toilet) is a unique amenity -- installed in a retired ice-fishing shack (on skis).
During the busy summer months, we may have a port-o-let (a.k.a. port-a-potty) with professional service.
In the winter, the equipment shed not available. We rent out vehicle and boat storage in the equipment shed and cannot accommodate camping there. However, we have ample parking for RVs at any time of the year. And if you are an experienced snow camper, we have several locations to choose from.
We have a farm stand where you can buy a few snacks.
If you want to try our beef, we'll be happy to show you our freezers.
We are 2 miles from a convenience store that packs an amazing array of products into a small space. We are close to a gem of a public beach, a winery (Snow Farm Vineyard), apple orchards, a public school playground,
and miles of scenic driving.
Local farmers markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays offer some of the best produce from these agricultural islands. We also own 1000' frontage on Lake Champlain, which you may enjoy. It is difficult to access, but affords privacy and serenity.
We allow campfires on the gravel areas of the farm and on the beach, where you can gather dead wood.
If you want to host a large group, you will need to reserve both campsites and rent a port-o-let (Vermont's lingo for porta-potty) if we don't already have one. Additional fees might apply. There is no RV electrical hookup; however, the equipment shed has electric outlets for your use. Additional fees apply for energy intensive appliances, such as heaters or air conditioners.
There is no water hookup; however, we can fill your tanks with a hose from a potable water supply. Generators are not allowed, unless you are sufficiently distanced from other campers and our neighbors. Other accommodations may be available. Just ask!

Camping is provided by and in support of the Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center, a 501 3C non-profit company. Located in the heart of the Green Mountain National Forest, the Outdoor Center provides access to the Blueberry Hill network of trails, the Vermont Long Trail, The Catamount Trail, and the Moosalamoo National Forest Trails.
All campsites are located at the edge of the field behind the Outdoor Center. We have hot/cold outdoor showers as well as restrooms in the Outdoor Center. For more information, visit our website at blueberryhilltrails dot com.
While there is an internet connection near the buildings, it may not be available at your site. Cell service is limited at best. You can drive your car right up to your site. Sites are a good distance apart. Site 1 and the Bed in the Shed are the most private. Site two is quite open and supports trailers.
For your campfire, you can forage for wood or request "bundles" (about a dozen hunks of wood) by the morning of your arrival, and we'll have it delivered to your site. Please note, wood from outside Vermont is not permitted.
We like to keep things quiet. No generators at any time.
Step outside your tent and you'll find a wealth of hiking, biking, and running trails. As stewards of these trails, your camping fees help support the efforts of this non-profit company. Nearby, you can enjoy swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. Trail maps are provided upon arrival, and you can also view them online on our webpage at Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center.
The Outdoor Center offers snacks and cold drinks for purchase, including our inn-made chocolate chip cookies, chips, and cold drinks. Also available on site, at the Inn across the road on mornings we are serving, may be a full breakfast, pastries, packed lunch, and coffee. (Please enquire in advance or night before if any inn items are available. ) Don't miss our Pizza Nights at the inn. More info on the Outdoor Center or Blueberry Hill Inn webpage. This 150-acre property has been in our family for 32 years and now houses three generations.
Built in 1900 it was a traditional dairy farm until the 50's and 60's when potatoes were planted on the fields for the Boston and New York markets. By the 70's and 80's it became a gentleman's farm for a retired couple from New York City and the dairy farmers nearby hayed the fields. When we purchased the property in 1993 we continued offering the hay, built greenhouses, planted vegetable and flower gardens, ran a traditional Bed and Breakfast, now airbnb. We leased some of the fields to a local organic seed company for 13 years until they purchased their own property. The farm remains certified organic and is still being hayed by a local dairy farm, the gardens are community managed using regenerative and sustainable practices when ever possible. In the commercial garden, seed crops are being planted once again. Much of the cultivated agricultural land is protected under the Vermont Land Trust, to ensure that it remains used for agricultural purposes.
We love to share our farm and forest with others. In addition to our very intentional farming operations, you can find wild edibles tucked away on forest trails. Wildlife and wildflowers abound. Views and sunsets. Check out the 968 acre wildlife management area that abuts the property. Plenty of trails through the woods leading to Wolcott Pond and hidden beaver huts and dams.

Our little pond behind the big greenhouse has filled up a bit more this spring which you are welcome to use for dipping or frog watching.

Plenty of places to dip into the cool water when you need to cool off! Walk or drive down to either of 2 covered bridges and see the craftmanship that enables them to continue to be used today! Access the Long Trail at multiple locations within a few miles.
BIKING
Bike the back roads of the area—wooded areas, windy or flat terrain, beautiful views, plenty of spots to rest beside a flowing stream. Or, access the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (93+ miles of non-motorized riding/walking on a converted and maintained railway bed).
FISHING/HUNTING
In the mountains we have streams, brooks, and rivers. There are many hotspots for fishing—lots of brook trout! No matter the rod you use, there are many places to try your skills. A fishing/hunting license is needed.
CANOE, KAYAK, TUBE
Got your own? Bring it! The Lamoille River is a few miles away and a favorite for water lovers. Don't have one, there is a great rental place down the road where you can take one out for the day. Looking for another option to the river? The Belvidere Pond is down the road and offers a peaceful place to paddle around surrounded by the mountains.
MAPLE SYRUP/SUGARBUSH
Want to learn about the maple sugaring process? We are always happy to give you a tour of our sugarhouse and the woods, and explain how we turn the tree sap into yummy Maple Syrup. (We only boil January-early April.) We do have this year's crop bottled and available for sale! Buy one for morning pancakes, to add to your morning coffee, or to take home!
WILDLIFE/BERRIES/MUSHROOMS/FIDDLEHEADS
Depending on the time of the year, you can find wild raspberries, blackberries, mushrooms, and fiddleheads. (Please do not pick or eat something if you don't know if it is poisonous!) And, wildlife are around. Look for tracks in the soil, signs they have been there, or if you are really quiet (usually in the early morning or at dusk) you might see deer, geese, or wild turkeys!

Camp sites include flat area, fire ring. Electricity and water at 2 sites. 1 site has a poured concrete pad -- perfect for a camper/RV. The other sites (grassy) can accomodate a camper/RV or tents. Please be prepared to provide your own camping toilet and pack out your trash. If you bring your dog(s), please clean up after them and have "control" as the dirt road is fully in view of the sites. (ATVs (on the trail) and a few vehicles do use the road.)

Bridgeview Harbour Marina is a family owned and operated full service marina, event space, and camping area on the Adirondack shore of Lake Champlain.
Established in 2020 the Marina provides seasonal and overnight slips and moorings to boaters, fisherman, and lake-goers, three camp sites, and an on-site cafe.
Marina services are available May thru October each year, with other events and services available throughout the year.
The marina is set on 33 acres along Lake Champlain and hosts ~4150 feet of lake-frontage, it is accessible via car, boat, or via the adjacent Amtrak rail line.
Prior to becoming a marina in 1989, the property was home to a very large Iron Foundry, rail yard, and barge-loading operation known as Cedar Point. Cedar point, part of the larger Witherbee-Sherman Mining Company, operated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries smelting iron ore to be shipped throughout the world via the Lake Champlain Canal and Hudson River, and is credited with providing iron to some of America's leading projects at the time. Some remains of the sites industrious past can be observed throughout the property.
From Father's Day to Labor Day, the Marina hosts the Port Henry Waterfront Farmers' Market every Friday between 5PM and 8PM. The Market features farms, makers, artists, food trucks and Live Music every week

We car camped at his RV spot ‘Stone Bench’. Michael was very quick to respond and met us right at our site. He was lovely and generously started a fire for us prior to our arrival, which was so amazing to pull up to after a long day of driving. Staying right next to the river was so beautiful to hear all the frogs and crickets chirping. The highway is right next to the river but the noise was actually minimal. We slept very soundly and had no issues.

Weekend Trip to BlueberryHill Field Camp
My fourth time at the best Hipcamp in Vermont. This is the quintessential camping plus comfort. It is a comfortable bed, no bugs. In a shed, no power. With a fire pit, a huge sky, blueberries and moose around, screaming wifi and clean bathrooms and delightful outdoor showers. The Green Mountains have so much to offer and a safe and warm and comfortable place to call home is all you need.

I stayed in Site 2. I was an FWD suv and it was easily accessible, a bit out in the open but private as long as site 1 isn’t occupied (which it wasn’t when I was there). Very quiet and sunset was fabulous. Will definitely be back.

Hit that reservation button now! Brian delivers above & beyond for what he is charging for his hipcamp. The lean to is spacious, clean & comes equipped with everything you need for a campfire with copious amounts of wood. It is far away from the main house to give you privacy yet close enough if you want to use the outdoor shower. Brian is super generous in offering up what he has growing. I ate some blueberries, cherry tomatoes & corn! All were very good. I happen to book the same weekend the zuc fest was happening down the hill. While I would of preferred the sounds of the outdoors, the music coming up the hill wasn't too bad & I consider myself treated to a free concert. The sunset here was dazzling and I can only imagine how gorgeous it is with all the trees in the fall. I am definitely bookmarking this spot for future reservations.

Beautiful, quiet, secluded, and affordable - all the things I was looking for. As an extra plus, the property has possibly the nicest and most pleasantly smelling compost outhouse I have ever used. If you camp regularly, you understand.
The host was lovely - very friendly and communicative. Hoping I have the opportunity to make it back some other time!

Dynamite Hollow felt less like a place we stayed and more like a little world we got to disappear into for five days. My husband, our 8- and 9-year-olds, our dog Spumoni, and I absolutely loved every August minute.
The water is impossibly clear, the property is peaceful, clean, and thoughtfully cared for, and somehow there is always another little corner to explore. The Upper Gorge was especially magical—lush, mossy, almost New Zealand-like, with that rare feeling that maybe no one had ever wandered through there before you.
We swam, explored, soaked in the amazing hot tub, built fires with the plentiful dry, cut firewood, and settled into the kind of slow days you wish could last much longer. Everything we needed was there, and the recommendations for things to see and do were spot-on.
It’s wild and beautiful without sacrificing comfort—the perfect mix of adventure and retreat. Five days somehow didn’t feel like enough. We were already talking about our next trip before we even left…will be back!!

Our stay at Shari’s was absolutely perfect. We stayed with our 4-year-old, and it couldn’t have been a more memorable experience. We arrived just in time for pizza and live music at the inn, which was such a wonderful way to begin our stay. Everything felt welcoming, relaxed, and special. This was exactly the kind of experience we hope for, and we’d happily return.

Site was as described. Minimal amenities, just a fire ring and porta potty. The soft sand in the site made for comfortable sleeping but tended to get everywhere. If you're just looking for a spot to set up a tent and crash you can't go wrong here.

Nice large site with all the necessary amenities. We booked for the access to Saranac River and put in right from the site with no issues. Absolutely gorgeous paddle full of wildlife and stunning views of the peaks.
Highly recommended - we will be back in September!

Where to go
New York Shore
Wild forests and dreamy lake views await on the west shore of Lake Champlain, and boaters and hikers will be in their element. Explore the Lake Champlain Valley by bike or on foot, enjoy some of the region’s best bass fishing, or come in winter to enjoy snowshoeing, ice fishing, and ice skating. Plattsburgh is the largest city on the New York side, from where ferries run to Vermont, but you’ll find RV parks and campgrounds dotting the lakeshore.
Adirondacks High Peaks
The forest-clad mountains and wilderness areas of the vast Adirondacks park lie just west of Lake Champlain, where you can scale the High Peaks, kayak or whitewater raft along the rivers, and marvel at some of New York’s best fall foliage views. There are RV sites with full hookups and glamping options to be found in the Adirondacks, but for a back-to-nature camping trip, opt for a backcountry tent site in the heart of the wilderness.
Vermont
Lake Champlain’s eastern shore lies in Vermont, framed by the verdant hills of the Green Mountains. The lakeside towns of Burlington, Shelburne, and Colchester all make strategic basecamps from which to explore the lake, or you can take your pick of 13 Vermont state parks around the lake. Cruising out to the Lake Champlain Islands is a must, and Grand Isle State Park on South Hero Island has one of the region’s most popular campgrounds. An added bonus: Campers get free beach access in Knight Point State Park on North Hero Island.
Montreal & Quebec
Lake Champlain’s northern shore spills over into the Canadian province of Quebec, fringed by sandy beaches, lush parks, and marinas. Head to Venise-en-Quebec to enjoy water sports and boat cruises through the summer months, or base yourself in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu along the Richelieu River. Both have options for campers.
