Located on a scenic dirt road between two covered bridges, our campsite is on the edge of a beautiful, peaceful horse farm. This is a great place to come get away and relax. There are quiet woods to walk through, miles of dirt roads to walk or ride on. We are close to a short hike on Mount Philo or Raven's Ridge. We are 15 minutes away from Lake Champlain and 30 minutes from Burlington and Middlebury.We offer a 16'x12' wooden platform for a tent that you bring with you. A brief walk in off the beautiful winding scenic road (Lewis Creek Rd). Note: This site is not cleaned or maintained during winter months. Help yourself to using the platform and rock firepit. This is a pack in/pack out site during winter months.
What to expect
Short walk to site
Parking isn't available at the site. You will park a short distance away and walk to the site (1-5 mins)
4WD recommended
A four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended for best access.
Tent site
You'll have this Hipcamp all to yourself.

Firepit. We have firewood for sale at the horse farm.
Pets allowed
On leash. At this time we can only host pets who are extremely well behaved. I own a German Shepherd male who is with me at the farm every day. He has boundaries set but is intact for breeding. If you have a very well behaved dog who will stay with you and not bark, you are very welcome to bring them. If you are unsure how your dog behaves in new circumstances, please leave them at home.

We throughly enjoyed camping on Heidi’s property. We loved meeting the horses (Ritz, Ronnie, Eclipse) just to name a few as well as the barn cat named Finn. The owls put on a show which is a treat. We did find a few ticks on us (to be expected - nothing surprising) so do bring bug spray or treat clothes in advance. The horses are nearby but they weren’t overly loud or smelly. There’s a port-o potty and spigot up near the stables if needed as well as a glass table with two chairs at the site. Would gladly camp again in the future.

Off season camping "under the pines" fires feel warmer when its cold out did you know, crickets still chirp though its cold young coyotes howling in the middle of the night like they are practicing for a holiday concert surrounded by woods and fields you don't much notice that dwellings are not far away except for the contented murmurings of horses the stars are brilliant and beyond counting at 5 am an owl cries Who...Who...Who....when I have to get up and pack it up to go to work. All due to the generosity of the non apparent Heidi, sharing her land. Highly recommended.

We absolutely loved this hipcamp! Such a lucky find. The hosts were attentive and the property is beautiful, clean and easy to access from Burlington. Bonus! There’s a creek off of Spear before you turn in and it’s perfect for cooling off in. We will definitely be back.

Heidi gave much information about the site, and it was equipped with a lot more than what was advertised (Wood for the fire, matches, soap, etc). Very calm site, but you must like hearing horses through the night !

Bell Tent Site Under The Pines
We enjoyed our time at Heidi‘s Land. We slept well on the camp beds and the flowers on the the table outside were such a cute surprise. Because we arrived at night, it was a little bit challenging to find, because it is so idyllic. But Heidi helped us via phone and was super friendly.

I was in town for business looking to keep costs down by avoiding a hotel stay. The directions to the site were clear, it was a nicely situated place to pitch a tent on a quiet road, I didn't spend much time there or use any of the amenities so I can't comment on much more than that.

Heidi’s space & communication was excellent! We came during mud season and the raised platform was a lifesaver. Also the composting toilet was a welcomed surprise. Location was easy to get around & into town but felt far away enough for camping. 10/10 would recommend!

Solar Eclipse tent site #4
If you like horses you'll LOVE this campsite, as it is in the midst of a working farm and horses are pastured on either side of the site. Heidi was a gracious and extremely helpful host and this site was a perfect quiet place to view the April 4 eclipse.

We loved this campsite! It was really nice to have the table for prepping dinner which we made over the fire. Also, not far from downtown Shelburne where you can stop by the country store and get a coffee. I highly recommend staying here.
