Beautiful rustic cabin
The cabin was beautiful and cozy! Took lots of great fall photos. Sara was a very welcoming host. Definitely remember to bring a flashlight as it’s a bit tricky to find the cabin in the dark without one.

Perfect getaway!
Wow... we had an amazing time at Sandiwood. The cabin was perfect. Private, clean, comfortable and just the right size. Sara was a very accommodating host and made check in easy. While the cabin is tucked in the edge of a forest, what we didn't know is that a few feet away is a beautiful meadow where we saw the most amazing constellation show. Truly breathtaking.

Moonrise Cabin at Sandiwood Farm
I hate writing reviews and sharing the places that I discover as when I go back to book in the future the secret spots have been discovered. This is one of those spots. I loved my time spent here! The family that runs the place were awesome, you knew they were there but, let you have the space to yourselves. I love farms and this one was a pleasure with the birdsong and views. The northeast kingdom has always held a special spot in my heart. This is off the grid camping but with a roof, table, bed and water nearby. I ended up in the Hemp view with the mattress. Moonrise doesn't have a mattress but large enough you could easily set up a tent inside. I loved the space of the Moonrise, used as a morning coffee porch. My only issue which is silly was the outhouse, I love outhouses and this one was nice and clean. I think that it was designed for a super tall person as I sat on the throne my feet were dangling about 6 inches above the ground. I suggest a step up as the mechanics of said position were a little challenging. Loved, loved, loved this place and Sara thanks again so much! You are definitely a triple W a wicked working woman!! Thank you!

Great cabin and farm get-away!
The cabin had more comfort than you would in a tent: sleeping loft with a mattress, wood burning stove and cooking tool essentials; while keeping all the great experiences of camping. The outhouse, fire pit and space around it are well maintained. The land itself is perfect for a get-away, between the star gazing, sunset mountain views, large forest you can explore (even see a working sugarbush!). Sara was very hospitable and welcoming -- we'll definitely be back!

Simple perfection
Sara’s place is simple perfection — a cabin in the woods with a porch, wood-burning stove, and sleeping loft. Fire pit and outhouse were a short walk from the cabin, and well-tended. Sara was also kind enough to lend us a piece of equipment we’d neglected to bring (a grate for cooking over the fire). An absolutely lovely place for two people looking to get away from the city.

Peaceful and Welcoming
This was our second time staying at Sandiwood Farm. It was just as fantastic as the first! The hosts are very kind people, offering to help carry wood, shovel snow for us, etc. Their cabin is beautiful, cozy, and set by a quiet forest at the edge of a calm field. I can’t recommend this enough!

This place was absolutely breath taking. The cabin is everything you could dream of and more. The hosts were incredibly hospitable and even took the time out of the day to tow us out of the snow. We will most certainly be back in the VERY near future. 10/10.

Best Clamping ever!!!!!
Staying at Sandiwood farm was one of the best experiences my son my wife 2 dogs and I have ever had on a trip of this sort.
We were welcomed with open arms and immediatly felt like part of the farm.
Wonderfull to explore the property.
The surrounding views were amazing.
We had a clear moonless night and sat atop the hill in the field where we had the best view of the star I had had since I was a child.
I could go on and on....
Try staying here!!!!
You wont regret a moment of it!!!
Also seasonal frest farm organic veggies and yummy Maple syrup from their olde tyme sugar shack.
Thank you Sara, Bob, Kyle.

Peace and Nature
We love staying in the cabins, and going to bed with a sky full of stars, and cool Vermont summer nights. That, combined with super helpful and friendly hosts make this a perfect launch point for Northeast Kingdom adventures. This was our second time and it was as great as we remembered the first time!

Exceeding expectations farm camping
I stayed at one of the cabins at Sandiwood farm with my family of five, including myself, my wife, and my 3 sons, ages 5, 3, and 9 months. We originally wanted to stay in a tent, but due to the potential for rain with the baby, we opted for one of the cabins instead. Sara was super accommodating and excellent communicating expectations. Even still, the stay definitely exceeded these expectations.
I called and spoke to probably 5 different hipcamp hosts prior to our trip and Sara seemed the most genuine and welcoming so that's why we picked Sandiwood. She does host weddings and events, but the event greenhouse is near the main part of the farmstand and about 400-500 yards away from the campsites. There was no event during our stay so we were welcome to walk through the greenhouse and use the firepit.
The cabins are located in the back corner of the farm, as others have mentioned, far enough that you have a private experience, but close enough that you don't feel completely isolated in case of emergency. You drive through a field of tall grass about 500 yards to reach the cabin & tent areas.
I think I counted 5 total cabins, some more finished than others. We were the only cabin campers on-site during our stay so we checked out all of the others. Our cabin was the most rustic but was totally fine for our needs. Ours had 4 plywood walls with a screen door and windows, a queen mattress + box spring, and a roof with some flashing to keep us dry. All cabins have something to sit on and most have a table. I think ours was the only one with a couch. There's one I think called the treehouse that has a loft, a back deck, and more finished floors. I would probably choose the treehouse if we go back.
All cabins are on the edge of the woods and the field, except the Woodlands Cottage, which is back deeper in he woods (by like 200 feet) and is where we stayed. Cabins are about 50 yards apart each. The treehouse is the furthest from all others. There was another couple of tent campers on site, but we were the only cabin campers the weekend we stayed. We were concerned that our baby would cry at night and bother the other campers, or that other campers would be loud an wake the baby during nap time, but I think we would have been totally fine even if the campsite was full. The baby cried one night and the other campers said they didn't hear a thing. They also said their dog was barking but we didn't hear it either so this was much much better than KOA style campsites we've been to in the past.
All cabins share a common camp kitchen that has a camp stove, picnic table, and water bag for washing dishes. The shower bag is not big enough for actual showers, but talk to Sara and she will direct you to a nearby park that has a great beach and hiking that also has camping and pay showers that cost $0.25/2 minutes.
The organic farm itself is an organic boasts a great variety of vegetables as well as CBD hemp and some of the best maple syrup I've ever had. Our kids were welcomed to help Sara harvest some veggies and we got a great tour of the sugar house along with a great learning experience for the kids (and me) on farming and how maple syrup is made.
For us, the highlight of the trip was watching the sunset at the firepit up by the newly constructed hemp drying building. There's just a beautiful view of the sun setting beyond the mountains in the distance. This is a tough one to pick though because Sara was so nice and accommodating a close runner up would be her hospitality.
Note: A piece of advice when looking at HipCamp is to look at how many campsites are on location. The more campsites you see, the likelihood of privacy decreases, but the amenities probably increase. I saw another farm that had 30 campsites and thought that seemed too crowded. Also, don't be afraid to contact hosts with questions. Everyone we spoke to was super nice and helped us end up at the best accommodations for us, setting expectations that left no surprises and left everyone happy.

Camped under the stars
Awesome time! Went there just after proposing and enjoyed a romantic setting under the stars. Sarah was an excellent host and sent us on our way with everything we needed and even a flower arrangement and maple syrup! Had an awesome walk in the woods and by the garden. Cabins were tidy and surprisingly not terribly hot. Would definitely come again

Wonderful!
The cabin was exactly what we wanted. Situated on the edge of an expansive meadow, the cabin provides views in every direction. The wood stove kept us warm during a spell of cold days on late December. Sarah and Bob kindly provided dry wood. The cabin fit 4 of us comfortably. The craftsmanship is superb! Sarah and Bob are hospitable hosts and made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We spent cozy evenings and mornings around the wood stove laughing and enjoying the serenity. Craftsbury Outdoor Center is only 15 minutes away. We will definitely go back! Thank you Sarah and Bob!
