We had a great time on Jon & Ann's site - the facilities were clean and functional, the wifi is strong, the area is quiet, safe and pleasant to stay in, it's an easy 20-minute drive to Montpelier and we even got some good birding advice! The swimming pond is about a 30-minute walk away and there's also good kayaking spot right next to the site. Recommended!

Absolutely loved this spot! Becky was so hospitable! She thought of every detail. Beautiful family. Quiet, clean, enough distance where you barely heard the other 2 campers. The cute solar lights, fresh farm eggs, bathrooms, yet away from it all! Biked the Kingdom Trails for 2 days; Heaven on earth. We’re coming back in 6 weeks!

As a mountain biking fanatic, I was blown away by how ideal this location is—smack in the middle of the trails, letting us hop on our bikes and dive into the singletracks without missing a beat. The forested surroundings, mountain views, and the constant hum of wildlife—birds, deer, and even a curious fox—kept the place feeling alive and immersive, making every moment a true outdoor adventure. Your setup was fantastic: the campsite was spotless, well-kept, and had everything we needed, from a great fire pit to a perfect spot for our tent. The bike washing station was a super nice touch, making it easy to clean our gear after a muddy day on the trails—such a thoughtful addition for riders! The fresh eggs from your farm were an absolute highlight, totally worth the extra few dollars for that farm-fresh taste at breakfast. Your directions to nearby trailheads and local spots for food and supplies were spot-on, showing how much heart you’ve put into making this a stellar spot for campers and bikers, unless you’re into glamping, which looked absolutely amazing! 3 nights at Green Mountain Glamping

Betsey's camp site was perfect for my solo personal retreat. It was restful to come to a beautiful campsite that was already set up for sleeping and eating - laying in a hammock, or sitting by a fire! The other campsites nearby made it feel like a small campground. It was quiet and peaceful. Nearby activities which I enjoyed: hiking Mt. Pisgah, swimming in Lake Willoughby, biking Kingdom trails.

This place is beautiful, has a gorgeous view and the cabin is the perfect size. Jessica is a wonderful host and the cabin offers many of accommodation.

4 nights at Woodbury Meadows

Jon & Ann's property didn't disappoint. Was a little hard to tell what we were coming to for the first time based on pics but it was perfect. Enough partial shade with a level pad for our 24' trailer....and the bath house was just perfect and well maintained. The wifi was super strong and reliable ta boot! Jon's a heck of a fellow and we got to swap great experiences with him while we were there.

Betsy was an amazing host. Everything was thought through, very clean and comfortable mattress and great lighting. She even put hot water in the shower basin in the afternoon so it was a perfect temp when you needed it after biking. They have built some fun jumps on the land which was entertaining for my kids. We really appreciated being able to bring our dog.

Betsey has created the most beautiful sanctuary space on her property with Green Mountain Glamping. The Pine Haven canvas tent was perfect for my family of four! The tent was so cozy and comfortable and we all slept so well! A major bonus was the hammock. We didn't have room in our car for all of our camping gear along with our bikes, so Pine Haven was just the answer. I so appreciated the French press to make coffee along with all the necessary dishes. We highly recommend Betsey and Green Mt Glamping!

The campsite is beautiful! The rocks in the brook by the hammock area were slippery but we just moved downstream a short distance. it was sandier and better for our girls to cool off and wade in the water. Wonderful experience!

Weekend Trip to Wandering Pines Camping

We stayed here during our 2 week New England travels. Julie & Dan are very friendly people, who truly want to accommodate guests and grow their Hip Camp stays. They are working with their property to make ongoing improvements. We stayed 2 nights in a small class C. RV and we were very appreciative that they were able to provide electric. We enjoyed having our morning coffee and late evening meal looking out at the Mountain View in the distance. It was peaceful and enjoyable.

This is a wonderful space. We have a travel trailer and were parked near their trailer. They have everything you need, and are wonderful hosts. The goats are cute and like people.

Weekend Trip to Islands Base Camp

We loved our time stay on the farm! It was pretty stormy so we were very grateful to be able to pitch our tents under the shelter out of the elements. The land was beautiful and it was the perfect place to start our bike trip on the Island Line Trail. We bought some of the farm's delicious beef and Joan was so kind as to put it in water for us so it was defrosted when we got back to camp! We also took advantage of the propane grill to cook dinner which was very helpful. Overall one of the best Hipcamps we have ever stayed at, 10/10 would recommend!!

Green Mountain Glamping

During your stay you're likely to see whitetail deer, squirrels and chippies, rabbits, and hawks. There's a chance you may see a fox, black bear, moose or even a bobcat! We ask that food is secured in your vehicle and not brought into the bell tents, for your own safety. We do have a basket of safety equipment in each tent. The basket contains bug spray, bear horn, simple first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, and a flash light.

Fern Hollow

Our property is nestled in the foothills of the Mad River Valley, close to the headwaters of the river. The property is composed of wetlands, agricultural meadows, old apple trees, and hardwood forest with 700 feet of elevation. All structures on the property are solar-powered and a rainwater system feeds the sink in the outdoor kitchen. There are a handful of individual camp sites available in the spring, summer and fall, as well as a communal outdoor kitchen with lighting, a fire pit, a stone pizza oven and a sitting/yoga deck. We also offer more of a "glamping" experience in our 14 ft yurt, which comfortably sleeps 2-3 people with wood stove heat and a solar battery for lighting. DUE TO RECENT CONDITIONS WALK IN ONLY!!!! If you go towards Keeseville, Ausable Chasm is 5 minutes away, The Grand Canyon of the East. During Summer FREE LIVE MUSIC ON THE GREEN every Friday 6pm-8pm, in our little town of Keeseville NY, Adirondack maps of hikes and trails will be in our tiny shop, up on the wall, inside from the elements of mother nature along with extra CATS TRAILS MAPS and other local interests in our area. Learn more about this land: Walk Adirondack Acres Trail to the end and you will find a beautiful private natural beach on the shores of the Au sable River, which is well known for the best place in the world for fly fishing. We are pet friendly about a ten-to-15-minute walk to your car and all that is left is you and nature. We are right in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains on the way towards Whiteface Mountain with spectacular views. Our toilet accommodations are set up at the Meet and Greet area in the tiny stand or you are welcome to bring your own if ours is not suitable. Maple fields and Stewarts Shops both have full indoor bathrooms for the public. wi-fi password is available if you ask us for it. Campsite numbers available this year will be Site2 which is left, we are planning to OPEN second site which will be on the right side, Site1, when it is finished. In the middle of Summer, you can ask about it. Only 1 site is open, Site2, on the entire land at this time. This year we have changed a few things and we have added some changes hoping to improve every year and we hope you have a wonderful time here on our beautiful land that we are very blessed to share and enjoy, with you our Hip camp, friends! We have it as a 10-to-15-minute Walk in depending on where you park, for vehicles with no 4x4. We are requiring 4x4 and some clearance to be able to drive up to the site. Wood is FREE off the land; we suggest bringing wood for the first campfire especially if it has been raining. You can look for firewood on our land and we have it available where we Meet and Greet. Arnold's grocery, is a small mom and pop store with 375 different kinds of beer, wood, and local art. Maple fields grocery store and Stewart's stores also has gas, grocery, wood, and both have restrooms. And just to be extra safe when we meet and greet to show a group down to the river, we will be staying at least 6 feet apart and not shaking hands be smart, be safe. We want you to be able to experience nature to its fullest.

The property boasts twenty sloping, knoll-laden, open acres overlooking the First Branch of the White River as it passes through the scenic village of Chelsea, Vermont. We have incredible views, forest trails that offer magical woodland wanderings, and spacious campsites in our fields. We also invite you to explore our cultivated fields of herbs and vegetables and become acquainted with the wide variety of tea, culinary, and medicinal herbs that we grow and process on our farm. You can also visit with the cows that spend their summer munching our delicious green pastures. Our full line of herbs and herbal products are for sale via our website or at Free Verse Farm Shop, located just one mile from our farm in downtown Chelsea. We live on 52 wooded acres in a natural area surrounded by lakes and ponds just 14 miles north of Montpelier VT. The campground is located along our town road and the sites are 50 - 100 feet apart along our driveway. This is not a wilderness experience you will have neighbors, including us. We are located on the Green Mountain Gravel Growler bike packing trail and have lots of hiking , biking, boating and swimming opportunities nearby. Our amenity's include a bath house with two flush toilets and a hot shower! We also now have a washer and dryer available for our campers. We have two 30 amp RV sites with full hook ups and 4 tent/small RV non electric sites. We are 100% solar powered and have good WIFI but no cell service. We cater to small quiet groups who can enjoy our peaceful setting. If your are bike packing and our sites are booked just text or stop in we will accommodate you. We are a family friendly, non smoking campground. We are open early May till late October. Pets on leashes are OK. Quiet time is all the time :~). 12 and under free, no Generators.

Vermont Ranch & Riverside Retreat

Swim, tube, fish and relax up or down the river and in the confluence of the Winooski and Mad Rivers.. 👢👓 Get curious about the history of this place by checking out the old abandoned Massey Furgeson hay baler tucked in the woods, the Cobb family cemetery, and more gems from many years gone by. Leave from either site on foot to access a sweet trail that travels along the river, over a private bridge, down a beautiful dirt road and into the forest. 🚴 Our property is located on the CROSS VERMONT TRAIL: "a multi-use path connecting communities, and the natural areas in between - across Vermont!" Wandering Pines Camping

Wandering Pines is a little slice of magic in the Great North Woods of New Hampshire. Our sites are large, private and offer field or wooded land. The sites are near our Small House on 5 acres but far enough away to feel private. We currently have 9 sites; 2 large campsites, 4 primitive sites, 2 park and sleep sites and 1 camper site. If our sites are booked, please message me. We have a ton of space and can accommodate you somewhere! During the warmer months(Late March-Early December) all the sites have access to water and a primitive outhouse and handwashing/dishwashing station. Some sites have access to electricity. Firewood can be purchased. Please check our extras for other items for purchase. We have wetlands and overgrown fields so there may be bugs and other animals at any given time. Bug spray is recommended. Although black bears are generally shy and usually avoid humans, they are opportunistic and will search for human food supplies when natural foods are not available. Maintaining a sustainable bear population in New Hampshire depends on minimizing human-bear conflicts. It is illegal to intentionally feed bears in New Hampshire. Intentional feeding can create problems within residential areas and can result in fines. It also may threaten the life of the bear, if it becomes a nuisance animal as a result of this feeding. Please keep your food in your car when you are not at the site and when you are sleeping. The property has views of Mount Martha and the Presidential Mountain Range. There are easy walking trails throughout the property. There is a field to play games; Soccer, wiffle ball, corn hole and yard croquet can be used. Just ask We are within 25 mins of Lancaster, Jefferson, Littleton, and Bethlehem. Small town bars, restaurants, breweries and one of a kind views of mountains, lakes, rivers and wildlife. There is hiking galore and more than enough to do for all ages.

Ready to get wild? Green River Reservoir is not your typical state park. Located only an hour south of the Canadian border, it provides camping and paddling in an “undeveloped” setting. The detailed use restrictions help maintain Green River Reservoir’s primitive vibe. The Reservoir is a designated “quiet” lake, allowing only human-powered watercrafts and motorized ones up to 5 MPH. Day use is permitted in limited numbers, but the campsites are reserved for overnighters. Fires are allowed in designated rings, but it’s recommended that you use a portable, camping stove to leave less of a mark. Be sure to exercise Leave No Trace practices and pack-out your trash. That being said, the management is pretty laissez-faire and only steps in to maintain high-quality outdoor experiences for visitors.

With a single large, group campsite, this might be a better getaway for you and your closest BFFs, as opposed to, say, your extended family reunion. The park’s remote campsites are scattered throughout the reservoir and can ONLY, repeat: ONLY be reached by boat. While it’s only a one to two-mile paddle from the launch site, definitely make sure to consult the map on your way out. No, really, check it out: it looks like it belongs to Captain Jack Sparrow and might lead you to buried treasure.

When to go

The best time to visit Green River Reservoir State Park is during the warm summer months, from June to August, when the water is perfect for paddling and the forests are full of life.
