The Rooney Farm is an 820 acre working organic dairy farm and maple sugarbush in Morristown, VT that has been stewarded by the Rooney family for four generations. We milk a herd of fifty holstein, jersey, guernsey, and ayrshire cows. We are right off the Long Trail, Catamount Trail, and VAST trail systems. We have mountain bike trails on the farm as well as a great swimming hole. We have miles of hiking trails that link up to the Beaver Meadow trail network in the Vermont State Forest as well as Morristown Forest trails. Our camp has two full size beds and sleeps four people. The camp is not winterized: will protect you from wind and snow but not the cold!The views at this campsite are spectacular! Rolling meadows, Elmore mountain in the distance, and lots of cows! There is great cell service at the camp as well as spotty wifi from the farmhouse. We offer farm tours, fly fishing tours, and mountain bike tours for an additional fee. Before you leave you can purchase organic beef or maple syrup from the farm.

Great view and experience! The cabin is very cozy, since it wasn’t too cold when we visited in fall, it was a pretty comfortable stay!

The host is amazing! She contacted us ahead of the trip and made tons of helpful recommendations and reminders of the upcoming cold weather. The place is a magical forest adventures for my 5 and 7 years old kids. It comes with all the necessities even shower and drinking waters fire pits. We enjoyed staying inside the cabin with cozy bedding and beautiful carpet. Wish we could come another day!

Selina’s little cabin was all I needed to unwind before taking on a big cycling challenge. All the creature comforts one needed while feeling like you are removing yourself from the hustle and bustle of life in a big city. The photos don’t do it justice and the responsiveness and kindness that Selina provided was top notch. Outdoor hot shower on a chilly day was also a huge plus! There was plenty of trails to hike and lots of scenery to take in. I can’t wait to come back for a longer stay with my partner.

The property was beautiful! Great spot for stargazing and a nice morning view to have cup of coffee while listening to the animals. Don't forget to bring a trash bag with you to make packing your trash out easier 🙂

Selina's property is quintessential Vermont. There's a short walk through the woods to reach the cabin (not a big deal), but it's well worth it once you see the view. The cabin was spotless and clean, and Selina was excellent at communicating with us. I highly recommend staying here—it’s now one of my favorite spots in Vermont. Plus, my dogs loved seeing the cows in the fields in the morning!

La cabane est accueillante et nous y avons bien dormi. La température était toutefois moins clémente lors de notre séjour et les nuits ont été fraîches; nous avons ajouté des couvertures que nous avions dans la voiture et ça a été correct. La maison des hôtes est visible de la cabane, mais l'endroit est très tranquille. De beaux chemins de randonnée autour, très agréables.

Absolutely lovely. Waking up to the sunrise peaking over the distant mountains with a full view of the valley was amazing. The space is cozy and comforting. And Selina was so sweet and kind. Such a gem.

From the start, Selina was amazing; communicative, curious and kind. The location is spectacular with views of the mountains and never ending green. If you want a getaway that is a little rustic, with just enough creature comforts - this is the spot for you. The cabin is adorable, the beds both have views of the mountains, and the coffee never tasted better than when we were looking out the windows watching the sunrise.

What a peaceful stay - gorgeous setting, and the cabin was very comfortable, especially for my camping-averse wife. Right adjacent to the house but you'd never know. Nearby to some amazing swimming holes, a great little town in Morrisville, and gorgeous surroundings. Nice amenities like coffee and a plug if you need it.

Best Sunrise on the East Coast!

Selina's cabin is so cute! Inside felt really cozy and the bed was comfy. She provides 5 gallons of water which was super helpful. I also love when firewood and kindling is complimentary, haha. Linens were provided so all I had to do was bring food, my chargers, and any other comforts I wanted. The sunrise was the biggest sell though. That sunrise view rivals Hawaii!

Sunrise Camp was a great experience. Selina is a wonderful host and was very responsive to questions and needs. Spent most of our day exploring and hiking Stowe, Smuggler's Notch, and surrounding area. Family and I (myself, wife, & 2 daughters) had enough room and made great memories at Sunrise Camp.

This place was great! We had a wonderful weekend staying here. It's rustic in all the best ways but still very comfortable. There's some dirt roads leading to it but we had zero issues driving on them even in mud season just days after a snowstorm. Because of that storm and some cold weather the owner went out of her way to be extra accommodating. Highly recommended!

Beautiful sunrise views as promised, and the cabin is a lovely timber frame construction with a refreshing piney smell inside. If you visit when it’s been rainy, I’d wear water resistant/proof shoes as the path to the cabin has some natural low spots that channel and collect water. Arriving after dark went smoothly, the path to the cabin was well marked, and Selina left a couple lanterns on for us. Slept well, and enjoyed some coffee in the morning along with our view!

Eclipse Experience Not to be Beat!

This spot was absolutlely lovely. My parents and I came for the eclipse and just wish I could have made another day out of it. The cabin is wonderful and the farm hosted a wonderful eclipse event. Selina was welcoming and helpful. We also were able to shoeshoe some of the property...which was a great way to start the day. The cabin would be snug for six adults but great for anywhere from 1-4 adults (and or up to 4 adults and 2 kids). Outhouse a little trek through the snow, but well labeled. Would stay here again. Everything needed for a comfy night stay was there. We love camping and I kept calling this glamping. Enjoyed the sunrise. Just wish I could have stayed longer!

Amazing stay, amazing host! We visited for the solar eclipse! It was snowy, but the host plowed out the road and our spot before we arrived, which was wonderful. She was incredibly responsive and answered all of our questions promptly. The site was BEAUTIFUL. Biggest sky you can imagine with zero light pollution. Perfect for the eclipse and anyone interested in Celestial Events and star gazing! Don't miss this gem!

Lovely spot! Everything was super clean, awesome view outside of the cabin. Well appointed with blankets for the bedding indoors, and outdoors there were chairs and a fire-pit, and some wood. Lovely touches. Fall is an awesome time to explore Vermont! We will be back for sure.

Selina was extremely welcoming, helped us with parking, getting wood to the cabin and she even left us some Vermont maple sirup for our coffee in the morning. The view from the cabin is phenomenal. Loved seeing the cows out in the field ! Even if the cabin is not too far off, we really do get a sense of privacy.

Nice, secluded, quiet place to spend the night. Outhouse was clean and conveniently located. Dry firewood was awesome, great directions on the trail to get to the camp, cooler with local beers was above and beyond. Would definitely stay here again.
