What a special place and awesome visit to Bumpa's camp! We only stayed one night; however, we will be returning! Jim and Julie are the best! We were bike packing and missed the turn at night, and they were so kind pick us up and give us a much-needed ride up the hill! We sleep in the screen house which was super cool! Everything is so nicely laid out and you see and feel the pride in how well they take care of the property, it shows! I can’t wait to take the wife for a stay! Such nice and pleasant people to be around!

Peaceful and full of amenities! A beautiful pond to hike around, various viewing areas including an enclosed mini deck and a tiki bar! Not to mention the screened house with full dining tablec and drinking water. A wonderful place to stay whether in RV or tent.

Another awesome visit to Bumpa's camp! Beautiful and private! This time we slept in the screenhouse, and waking up to the beautiful sunrise was a great way to start the day! Julie and Jim are great hosts and take very good care of you. Everything is clean and well stocked. Thank you for a wonderful weekend and the free concert!! We can't wait for our next visit!!

Bumpa's Camp - experience VT!
When looking for a Hipcamp we try to find the most secluded, private location possible. Bumpa’s camp is exactly that, it’s completely private, you get to hear the frogs, the owls, the coyotes, the birds, it’s beautiful here! The stars at night are a sight! They have so many little touches they’ve added all over the property that shows how much they care. There’s firewood for $5 if you need some. A paddle boat, a fire pit with tiki torches, outdoor shower, trails, a tiki bar, screened building with a beautiful table and some chairs to relax! I have had some unexpected health issues recently and really needed a space like this for some R&R, and some quiet time to make memories with our family. I couldn’t have picked a better place. Thank you Jim and Julie! Im hopeful in the future we can make a return trip to your beautiful property! -the slatteryfamily.

Bumpa's Camp - experience VT!
The best campsite I have ever booked on HipCamp. The space was large, yet secluded and felt very private. The beaver pond was an awesome and tranquil place to sit and enjoy the scenery, occasionally catching a glimpse of one of the beavers swimming around. The hosts were kind and checked in now and then to make sure everything was going well, but by and large let us enjoy the space as if our own. I will absolutely be booking again!

Julie and Jim were extremely friendly and welcoming hosts! They gave us a short tour of the camp site and showed us where the outdoor shower was located. The campsite is absolutely stunning with gorgeous views of the leaves changing colors. Would absolutely stay here again!!

Absolutely stunning spot!! We had perfect weather over the weekend and had the best long weekend exploring beautiful Vermont. Jim and Julie were so kind and helpful the entire time whenever we needed anything. Highly recommend for a very easy and beautiful camping experience!

Julie and Jim’s Hipcamp was fantastic! Very helpful beforehand answering questions. Extremely helpful when they lost power and had downed power lines nearby. We arrived in a rain storm and they let us know about road closures and reroutes!
Their property is large, fun and very private. Julie and Jim came over the greet us and make sure we arrived ok. Very large area with stone firepit, picnic table, screened in shelter, composted toilet. I’d hate to tell too much about this Hipcamp gem, everyone else will find it and stay there too!

Julie and Jim were wonderful hosts, they have thought of everything to make a campsite comfortable, yet private. There is absolutely no cell signal, which is a great get away. We couldn’t believe how much space was included in the campsite, a large well maintained field. . The Loo, actually, was the cleanest outhouse I have ever used. The screened -in building was a comforting and welcomed reprieve from the rain. Great place for meals, with a handmade, hard wood table. We played Yahtzee by candlelight, listened to the birds in the morning, and frogs in the evening, and could even hear the beavers. Then we walked down to see the beaver house, and next time we’ll consider brining out kayaks. As with any nature setting, don’t forget to bring bug spray! Such a Beautiful site! We actually brought way too much stuff with us, which now we know we won’t need next time, like camping chairs, a table, plus there’s an outdoor charcoal grill next to the picnic table which just needs some charcoal/wood. Knowing we had access to a WiFi and a shower at their home was nice, although we did not use it this trip. Plenty of drinking water, and in the outhouse being able to wash my hands with soap and water was great! They even had precut tree limbs for walking sticks or twiddling or whatever you wanted it for, a nice touch. Plus bundles of firewood, an herb garden, and flowers everywhere, with stunning views. Thank you, Julie and Jim, for sharing this little piece of remote paradise :)

This site might have ruined me for all other camps! Everything about it was perfect. The land is gorgeous and our site was completely private. Julie and Jim could not have been more hospitable and welcoming, while not being at all intrusive. They are the best! Their attention to detail makes the place truly special with a screened in room for gazing at the pond or playing Scrabble, a pedal boat to take around the pond, great signage and the most pristine pit toilet I have ever encountered - seriously it was unbelievable! My husband I cannot wait to go back!

Bumpa's Camp - experience VT!
Bumpa's Camp is an awesome place to stay with your dogs for tent camping with beautiful views, privacy, and great amenities. Jim and Julie are wonderful hosts and were available to answer any questions throughout our stay. Property was clean, nicely appointed, and there is plenty of space to pitch a tent. Looking forward to staying there again!

Bumpa's Camp - experience VT!
This is a great spot. Large, open site with a range of options to set up camp. The site infrastructure shows the hospitality of the hosts and the location over-looking a beaver pond is peaceful. Whole experience was great. We will definitely return if in the area and recommend this to anyone without any hesitation.

An amazing place with an unbelievable attention to detail. We only were able to stay one night but which we could have stayed more. The host was gracious and overly accommodating. Thank you again for a wonderful stay! If you’re thinking of booking do it! It is week off the beaten path but way worth it!! You won’t regret it!

Best spot Ive camped at ever! Everything is super well thought out and beautiful. Easy to find and drive up to. Compost bathroom is super clean and nice. Fire pit / table area is perfect for hanging out with bundles of wood and kindling close by. The trails and beaver pond are great. Buzzy's Bar is amazing. Julie and Jim are the best. Thank you both!

Bumpa's is hands down the best Hipcamp we have stayed at in the 5 years we have been booking through the site. Super friendly hosts, a spot that is beautiful beyond words, and the ultimate relaxation and peace can be found. Julie & Jim's attention to detail in the space make it wonderful and easy! We got home from this trip and immediately booked another two nights for the next month!

Yup. Everything as advertised, and more. Especially the utter quiet, the great trails to tiny happy places, and the pleasant surprises in all the little details. I wish Jim and Julie lived down the street so we could have a beer now and again, but then they would not live on that effin’ slice of Gods Country

Wow! What an incredible space and salt of the earth hosts. The little things were just so big from the imaginative signs and trails to the flowers be personal welcome sign. All the fire pit needed was a match. As a life long Adirondack backwoods camper I felt spoiled! Jim and Julie were amazing hosts, we enjoyed spending time together at the site as well as exploring the surrounding area. Simply not enough space to sing their praises!

You know when you discover one of those special places you’ll never forget? Jim & Julie’s Bumpa’s camp is definitely one of those places!
We were in serious need of some down time and as soon as we arrived we felt so relaxed and in awe of the beautiful surroundings and custom built accommodations.
We loved chilling out & sleeping in the screened in cabin, soaking up some sun on the paddle boat in the beaver pond and just sitting on the hill taking in the amazing scenery.
There are little trails around the property including one to a cool outdoor bar at the beaver pond edge! All the thoughtful handcrafted touches throughout makes it such a special place.
You can tell Jim & Julie truly love their slice of heaven in Vermont and luckily they love sharing it with others! We’ve already recommended their place to friends & family - and can’t wait to come back!

Had a fantastic stay. Jim was great. Had everything I was hoping for, great views, great shower, space to spread out and the craftsmanship that’s gone into building the facilities is over and beyond what I could’ve expected. Simply top drawer all around.
