Bumpa's Camp - experience VT!
Bumpas was honestly one of the coolest spots I’ve stayed at. The fire pit was amazing for being able to cook over the fire, and they even had an herbs garden for you to use for cooking. Many different locations to set up tents or rigs all over the site. Having the outhouse was a huge plus, and it was a very nice outhouse too. Very private land with trails to explore, a paddle boat for the pond, an overlook of the mountains, and even a hidden fort/bar down by the water. Massive site, would give more than 5 stars if we could.

Bumpa's Camp - experience VT!
We loved everything about Julie and Jim's spot, it was exactly the kind of camping experience we were looking for. The site is incredibly private, with a huge, well-maintained grassy area that's perfect for spreading out. We had plenty of room for our travel trailer, truck, hammock, chairs, and outdoor kitchen without ever feeling cramped.
The view overlooking the pond and surrounding forest was the highlight of the trip. Morning coffee under the awning and evenings watching the sun settle over the water were hard to beat. The setting is peaceful, quiet, and feels far removed from the crowds you find at traditional campgrounds.
The property is exceptionally well cared for. Everything was clean, mowed, and thoughtfully laid out. Even though it feels secluded, the site is easy to access with a trailer. The screen room was a nice touch that our dog Asa loved.
If you enjoy cooking outdoors, relaxing in a hammock, sitting around a fire, or simply taking in the scenery, this place is tough to beat. We spent the week grilling, enjoying the view, and unwinding. Our dog loved having plenty of room to relax in the shade as well.
We'll absolutely be back, and I'd recommend this site to anyone looking for a quiet, scenic getaway with plenty of space and beautiful views. It exceeded our expectations.
This site exceeded our expectations. The screened in porch, immaculate grounds, privacy, and hospitality are what make this spot stand out.
We enjoyed exploring the area and going on day adventures then returning "home" to a peaceful spot.

Bumpa's Camp - experience VT!
What a beautiful campsite! We really enjoyed our stay at Bumpa’s. There’s a big field for activities, short hiking trails that are well cared for around the property, a peddle boat for use down at the beaver pond, and a screened in little wooden enclosed space to escape the bugs. Lots of fun birds and frogs, too!

Bumpa’s has everything you need for your camping adventure. Massive grassy area, a screened in shed for rain and bug protection, or anything else you’d like to do there. Down by the water is where the magic is though. There are several amenities to enjoy that I’ll leave off the review so it can stay as a surprise, just like we had it. It’s very private, and the hosts are extremely accompanying, trusting, and available for anything you need. They just want you to have fun. Will recommend to others and will certainly be back. We may have found our annual camping location that checks every box!

An actual paradise hidden in VT. When we arrived we quickly realized it was even more beautiful than we could have anticipated.
The facilities are top notch. Jim and Julie are incredible people for sharing their little slice of heaven with us. They’ve built vistas around the property that make it easy to soak in the views and the wildlife. The covered/screened in platform is a lifesaver when the weather gets bad.
You will not regret a trip to Bumpa’s. Not one single complaint from our group the entire time we were there. We can’t wait to go back!

Bumpa's Camp - experience VT!
Bumpa's camp is the perfect mix of private forest paradise and delightful company and amenities. I have never seen an outhouse that nice!
The beaver ponds are so tranquil and abundant with ducks, geese, salamanders, and of course beavers.
Jim and Julie are extremely generous and gregarious hosts.
I would highly recommend staying at bumpa's.

Bumpa's Camp - experience VT!
We absolutely loved our stay at Julie and Jim's land with our pups! The property was beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly private. There was so much to do, from exploring the trails through the woods to relaxing by the water. We especially loved taking out the little pedal boat for a spin. Julie and Jim truly thought of everything to make the stay comfortable, and the bathroom was the best one we have seen on hipcamp yet. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, and we will definitley be back!

This Hipcamp sight was by far the best sight we have ever stayed on. They go above and beyond and absolutely are inspirational with what they have done . It was completely peaceful easy to get to with well marked directions. The grounds were manicured and they had everything we needed to be comfortable. They were very friendly and walked out to meet us after we arrived as if we were old friends. On a scale of 1-5 I give it a six. Perhaps the first sight we have stayed on we could not find anything to improve upon.

This is a great camping site! Very quiet, private, and scenic. There was nice fall color during our visit. Lots of open space too! We were just here for a short weekend and I felt very safe as a solo female camper with my dog. The owner was available if I had questions and saved me a long trip to Walmart by recommending a local store I could go to when I needed to replace some gear that broke. She also had wifi information available so I could check in with people and get directions periodically during my stay. I would usually do that when I walked back towards the house for the bathroom or shower. It’s a couple minute walk from the back of the property where the campsite is. The shower was really lovely in the afternoons since it did get hot during the day during my visit. Because it was so private and the weather was nice we ended up leaving the rain guard off the tent and sleeping in the moonlight which was beautiful. We did swing by Stowe during our visit to walk the recreation path which wasn’t too far (although it felt so loud and bustling after being at the quiet campsite!) and we also went the other direction to Hardwick, Danville, and Dog Mountain in St Johnsbury. We also heard some barred owls while we were there (and lots and lots of geese!)

Hands down this is our favorite Hipcamp! Amazing location and even more amazing hosts. Already looking forward to next year's visit!
Julie and Jim have done an outstanding job with Bumpa’s! Love all of the thought and details. The site is very private. the view of the pond is wonderful. Screened in pavilion is nice and has drinking water. Outhouse is clean with running water. The view of the pond is so fun and relaxing. We wondered through all of the trails. We did not want to leave and will return for sure! We road our bikes on the rails to trails. It is easy to break it into bits over days. And, we hit lots of breweries. All were very good.

My partner and I had an amazing time camping at Bumpa’s! It felt like having a little nature preserve all to ourselves. Sitting out at “Magic Point” by the pond was our highlight. Julie and Jim were wonderful hosts too. I hope to come back again soon!

Beautiful, quiet location. Julie and Jim have created an amazing place. There is a beautiful beaver pond where we watched wildlife, great trails to wander around the property, a screen room to eat or play games when it’s too buggy or rainy and the nicest outhouse we’ve ever seen.
Bumpa’s Camp is perfect in every way - easy to find, full of useful & thoughtful amenities, beautiful & serene and owned by the nicest people imaginable. Located on a small hill overlooking expansive beaver ponds, the site has several ideal locations to pitch your tent, a wonderfully comfortable screened-in cabin, immaculately clean outhouse, trails & decks overlooking the ponds. Perfect for a solo camper like me, but also perfect for a group. Families with young children would particularly love it because there’s ample space for kids to run around & explore. A tons of wildlife too! Julie & Jim were very communicative before my arrival, and later stopped by to say hello & see if I needed anything. Although I didn’t need them, both showers & WiFi are available just a short distance away at Jim & Julie’s house. As a solo camper, I appreciated the solitude but loved knowing there were helpful people nearby should I need anything. And I just loved all the thoughtful decorative elements - especially the use of interesting-shaped branches as door & cabinet handles in the cabin & outhouse. Julie & Jim are artists & it shows in their attention to detail. Truly a magical experience in an absolutely lovely part of Vermont! I will definitely be back.

Definitely would recommend! I loved camping here. It was my first time camping and it was great. Open space , private and quiet. The owners are really nice.
This place is paradise. Up on a hill over a beaver pond, totally private, great facilities. Our family of 5, including our 4 yr old daughter and two dogs visited this spot over July 4. We found it peaceful and relaxing. The bugs were not bad, we found no ticks, and we didn’t see any poison ivy. Jim and Julie were delightful and even let us borrow some olive oil since we forgot ours. We loved it and want to come back!

What a special place and awesome visit to Bumpa's camp! We only stayed one night; however, we will be returning! Jim and Julie are the best! We were bike packing and missed the turn at night, and they were so kind pick us up and give us a much-needed ride up the hill! We sleep in the screen house which was super cool! Everything is so nicely laid out and you see and feel the pride in how well they take care of the property, it shows! I can’t wait to take the wife for a stay! Such nice and pleasant people to be around!

When looking for a Hipcamp we try to find the most secluded, private location possible. Bumpa’s camp is exactly that, it’s completely private, you get to hear the frogs, the owls, the coyotes, the birds, it’s beautiful here! The stars at night are a sight! They have so many little touches they’ve added all over the property that shows how much they care. There’s firewood for $5 if you need some. A paddle boat, a fire pit with tiki torches, outdoor shower, trails, a tiki bar, screened building with a beautiful table and some chairs to relax! I have had some unexpected health issues recently and really needed a space like this for some R&R, and some quiet time to make memories with our family. I couldn’t have picked a better place. Thank you Jim and Julie! Im hopeful in the future we can make a return trip to your beautiful property! -the slatteryfamily.

The best campsite I have ever booked on HipCamp. The space was large, yet secluded and felt very private. The beaver pond was an awesome and tranquil place to sit and enjoy the scenery, occasionally catching a glimpse of one of the beavers swimming around. The hosts were kind and checked in now and then to make sure everything was going well, but by and large let us enjoy the space as if our own. I will absolutely be booking again!

Julie and Jim were extremely friendly and welcoming hosts! They gave us a short tour of the camp site and showed us where the outdoor shower was located. The campsite is absolutely stunning with gorgeous views of the leaves changing colors. Would absolutely stay here again!!
