Sundial Farm can also be seen in many Hollywood productions, such as Blackkklansmen, The Hunters, and American Gangster. *You may come across reviews talking about the farm stand and animals. Escape on Wheels - West Haven

This Jayco RV is decorated and designed for two people who want to create a cozy getaway to relax and celebrate beautiful, unforgettable moments. It's an escape that takes you away from the routine and offers a unique experience with a vintage style where you'll feel good vibes with every breath. With the cold season upon us, the RV has built-in heating, and I've also added an electric heater to keep you warm during your stay. It has its own control panel and thermostat. When you're going to use the shower, I suggest turning on the water heater 25 minutes beforehand so you can enjoy a lovely shower. But don't forget to turn it off after you're finished, as it will stay on unnecessarily. It's also important to know that when you use the toilet, only use toilet paper, as it's specially designed for this type of RV and won't cause blockages. Smoking is prohibited inside this property; if smoke is found, an extra cleaning fee will be charged. This is also an ideal space to relax and work remotely, as it has an independent antenna to provide internet access to the entire unit and all the electronic equipment you need. I will ensure the unit is delivered to you with all its accessories in working order so you won't have any problems. I always suggest guests ask any necessary questions so they can use it without any issues. On the day of arrival, you will receive another message to refresh your knowledge of how to use the campervan. Close to the beach and sand, the city offers activities nearby so you won't have to go far to enjoy them. This campervan has all the qualities of a house, with the only difference being that you're on wheels—something truly delightful. I have two bicycles so you can take a ride along the bike path on the beach and enjoy the majestic scenery. A different way to have fun and experience something new. After reading about the campervan's features, if you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them to ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible.

Nestled at the headwaters of the picturesque Nissequogue River, this 627-acre park stands out for its breathtaking views of Stump Pond and its diverse range of cultural and recreational activities. Visitors can immerse themselves in nature while enjoying miles of scenic trails that cater to outdoor enthusiasts of all levels. Stump Pond, formed in 1798 by Isaac Blydenburgh and his cousins Joshua and Caleb Smith, was created when they dammed the river to build a grist mill. This historic damming flooded the riverbanks, resulting in the pond's unique name, derived from the tree stumps that still emerge from the water's surface. A highlight of the park is the 5.7-mile loop trail that encircles Stump Pond, made accessible by a newly constructed boardwalk through the surrounding wetlands. Hikers can follow the trail marked with white or blue arrows, and guided hikes are periodically organized by the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference, which has its headquarters within the park. Additionally, visitors can explore the Blydenburgh Farm and New Mill Historic District during guided tours offered every Saturday at 1:00 PM. Heckscher State Park camping guide

Overview

About

Lying on the shore of the Great South Bay on Long Island, Heckscher State Park’s 1,600 acres are the setting for a number of outdoor activities, from picnicking and field sports on its large open fields, to hiking and biking along multi-use trails and spotting a variety of wildlife, including whitetail deer and various species of bird. Additionally, visitors can swim, boat, and kayak in the Great South Bay. The park has 67 campsites that are open from mid-May to early September and suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Bookings can easily be secured online or by phone, up to nine months in advance.
  2. Reservations are not required but are encouraged, especially in summer.
  3. Check your dates: A steep cancelation fee is charged for bookings canceled within seven days (on top of a non-refundable reservation fee).

When to go

Summer is by far the busiest season in Heckscher State Park and its surroundings. If visiting in summer, it’s a good idea to make reservations in advance and try to arrive early to avoid crowds, particularly on weekends and holidays. Visiting in spring or fall offers a quieter experience. Winters are crowd-free and offer activities such as snowshoeing.

Know before you go

  • You’ll find plenty of grocery stores in East Islip, within a 10-minute drive.
  • Two campsites are accessible, as are all pavilions.
  • Dogs are only permitted on nature trails located in the undeveloped areas of the park, not in the campground.
