It all started when grandfather Charles B Wright first establish this farm in 1904. He purchased it for its natural springs. In our barn (now home to Gardiner Brewing Company) he had gravity fed water troughs for his cattle. Since then we have slowly switched from animals to tree fruit. You will enjoy rolling hills of fruit trees and fruit gardens along with beautiful views of the Shawangunk Mountain Ridge. We have 450+ acres so it in very private.
As we are a working farm, you can see us driving pass with our tractors or maintaining the orchard around your campsite on occasion. You are welcome to ride your bikes, hike or jog where you will pass ponds and a working farm landscape. Please don’t pick our fruit. If you would like to enjoy the fruits of our labor please visit our farm store open year round on the premises where we sell cheeses, our fresh picked fruit and veggies, local meats, and our famous cider donuts along with other farm products. We also have a farm brewery open 3-7 in our old dairy barn for you to enjoy. Live music Saturdays and Sundays. Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Reserve are only 10 minutes away. The rail trail is three minutes away. This trail gives you walking and biking access into New Paltz, where there is tons of restaurants and lots of shopping.
Please be aware that during the months of September and October there may be a Pick-Your-Own customer or two walking around picking apples around the campsite area between the hours of 10:00-6:00. You are also welcome to come down to the farm market and purchase bags to pick your own apples in season.

For July 4th weekend, and Labor Day weekend drive-up sites are a 2 night minimum. Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock.
The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you!
Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool.
Our location is convenient to the Berkshire Mountains, state parks, hiking and other attractions, including Ramble Wild tree to tree adventures and Jiminy Peak. There are a few miles of rail trail access just down the road.

A grassy meadow nestled between a forested ridge the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, an open access walking and bike path. The Rosendale Rail Trail Cafe is just across the meadow from you and Rosendale trestle bridge is a short bike or walk away.
We do have hot water showers and heated bathrooms in the Owlwood. Use our hand drawn map to find your way around the farm.
Please drive extremely slowly while on the farm road, there and kids and critters everywhere and your car will thank you! Also, we encourage everyone to drive as little as possible while on the farm, why drive when you can walk and enjoy the land.
If you want to sleep in a car or rv make sure to contact us so we can let you know where to car camp. No cars are allowed in Red Fox Meadow. Also, if the meadow seems too wet to camp give us a shout, there are other areas to camp that are dryer in the wet moments, just not as private.

Our slice of paradise consists of 225 acres of forested land nestled in the foothills of the Catskills near Albany. We are a homestead and small campground devoted to the principles of organic farming and self-reliance. Modern agriculture and big business are unsustainable, destroying farmland at an accelerating pace. It is important for us to teach the next generation, there is an alternative. We produce much of our own food. We have friendly goats, chickens, ducks, peacocks, donkeys and horses the guests can pet and feed. There are no swimming holes on our property, but many waterfalls and swimming spots within a short drive (see list below). A quick 5 minute drive will get you to one of the best disc golf courses in the north east. For the truly adventurous, Clarksville Cave is a short drive away. Visit their website for list of proper gear and rules. We do rent some of the equipment needed.

When he wanted to sell his property he offered it to us for purchase at a fair price if we would not develop more than we needed to live here.
We maintained the meadow adjacent to our property and have kept it as an agricultural site.
We have had our son develop an edible forest garden and a unique diversified small orchard so we can eat and share healthy organic fruits and vegetables while helping our environment and wildlife and educating others to do the same.
It is expensive to live in Newtown but we love our property.
We want to teach others to grow food from their land while helping to support us keeping our adjacent property agricultural and undeveloped.
Our property has provided many happy gatherings and events and we love to share it with others.

You can enjoy exploring, and examining our 7 year permacultuire food forest with chestnut seedlings already tall enough to climb , 10-foot hazels bearing buckets of nuts and a different selection of raspberries, blackberries, gooseberry, currents, golden berries, service berries and Mulberries. Enjoy a stroll through the meadow trail to breath in morning views and evening fireflies and stars. This camp area is very private but household amenities are not far away if desired. This site is much more private than Mickelberry Forest Garden Site and the beautiful mountain view is only a small step away. One mile away we offer nearby blue mark trails, mountain biking, lake and outdoor activities are at your fingertips and your hosts will be happy to provide any assistance needed to find or enjoy these opportunities. The Creamery (Ferris Acres) is one of the best farm ice cream shops in the East. Our campsite lies on the beautiful two and a half century old LeFevre family farmstead with rich history and stunning views of the Shawangunk Mountain ridge. The property is on a 40-acre old apple orchard that is super private and filled with dramatic views and spectacular sunsets. Wake up in your tent to the sounds of birds chirping, roasters crowing and cows just close enough but just far enough way.

If your looking for seclusion with quick river access, surprisingly good reception to listen to tunes on Bluetooth and a site where you barely have to bring anything as everything you’ll need or want is supplied and set up for you then you’ll find it as delightful as I did. My son and I loved staying at Jim’s place! He met us on arrival (we were late- my fault- sorry Jim😬) and he showed us around. We walked down a few trails- it’s perfectly forested- not too dense, there’s still a breeze- even when it was hot and humid out. Our site had the perfect blend of wooded area and natural-feeling clearing- we could throw a ball, run around, and it still felt secluded. Jim offered to take us foraging for mushrooms which I would have LOVED, but my son wanted to stay at the camp site and do the stuff a kid does when camping😈.
We had a truly incredible experience. Thank you Jim so much for being such a gracious host! Can’t wait to come back with the whole family!

2 nights at Hucklebuck Railway Campsites
We had such a great stay in the east camp. Paula and Bill really have thought of everything and made our stay stress free. There were other campers at the west site but the property is so big we never ran into them and it was like having the whole place to ourselves. Looking forward to coming back!

Enjoyed the quiet campground with woods and brook behind our site and bathroom with dishwashing sink conveniently nearby. Enjoyed hearing owls at night and woodpeckers in the morning.

Me and my wife have been camping in a lot of places upstate and this was by far the best. Joanna’s property is gorgeous and extremely quite and she has been an absolute star in communicating with us, welcoming us and providing us with fire and water. Absolutely recommended! Cant wait to be back.

I was there and it is well worth if you are looking for the forest feel and secluded pick lot #2
I slept in my car and was great.
If you want to be for yourself but still not too much in the forest then take lot 1 or 3

This site is in a really peaceful location. It’s nice to have the toilets available on site as well. Make sure to bring a way to wash up afterwards as there is a water pump nearby, but I am not sure if there is more than 1 and I am not sure if it is available when an RV is hooked up to it. The host was welcoming and offers EV charging at an additional fee if you need it!

We had a fantastic evening on James’ land. The directions were clear and our arrival time flexible. James met us on onsite to explain the lay of things as well as show us to the outhouse. He provided a good amount of kindling and firewood, with plenty more accessible all around. A large container of non-potable water was also provided. While not deep in the woods, the site felt secluded. Thanks James!

The Swing Site was clean, private, and exactly what we needed for our weekend stay! The 2 minute walk to the parking area & porta potty isn't bad. Waking up to the sounds of so many birds was amazing and we left wishing we spent more time at camp. We enjoyed our stay and would return!

We were in the area to hike at Mohonk Preserve. We enjoyed car camping in the Owl Wood. It was very private and located not too far from the bath house. Jonny was very good with communicating with our group and explaining the property to us to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We also tried the pizza at the Cafe and enjoyed it very much.

I loved my stay here! It was peaceful and felt secluded. They were able to get a bucket of wood together for me rather last minute to have a nice fire (thank you!). I look forward to staying here again sometime soon! :)

beautiful site tucked into a very lush forest with huge trees, a decent amount of privacy and a whole lot of birds. one of the ponds is very close by and made for a really nice sunset picnic spot. the walk in felt a bit longer than 800 ft but worth it to get into the more majestic/wilderness part of the property

I had a great experience camping at Pegasus Farm. Ronald was welcoming, communicative, accommodating, and so excited to share his beautiful land with his guests. The sites are unique but peaceful and reserved in their own way. The trails around the fenced in property are easy to navigate and gives you a great opportunity to explore without having to go too far.

Weekend Trip to Atland Artist Residency
We loved staying at the tiny cabin. The land is stunning, everything is so well thought out, and as comfortable as camping could be. The outdoor shower was a plus, as well as the clean well maintained compost bathroom. We felt totally comfortable there, and Tori was so kind and welcoming.

Great spot to set up some tents with friends and enjoy a weekend! Super easy to follow directions, site with great spots to pitch a tent, nice fire ring, and a beautiful landscape! We loved getting to hear whippoorwills at night. Would recommend!
