I stayed at this campsite the weekend of the Vintage Festival in the Hudson Valley. Driving around town towards the campsite, I already had the feeling it was going to a great weekend!
There was a cute market at Wright’s Farm in which I stopped for food, firewood, and some drinks. They had a lot of great stuff there (buy the cider donuts, trust me!) with a brewery if you wanted to stick around and have food and drinks while watching the live bands.
Then, I drove up to the campsite just down the street, the directions were straight forward and easy to navigate along with the signs provided.
When I pulled up to the site, I was speechless. The view of the cows grazing and the mountains far off in the distance were incredible! The site provides a picnic table with a little cabinet attached, a deck to place your tent, and two wooden outdoor chairs. Sunsets were pretty brutal as there is no shade around the picnic table and the sun just beams you down, so make sure to bring your own sun shade and wear sunscreen! The site was also really private, I’ve only seen people tending to the cows twice throughout my time there.
Overall, I had a great time here during my weekend getaway. There’s a lot to do around the cozy little town. I’ve been talking to my friends and family about this campsite and 100% plan on coming back to visit my new cow friends real soon. Thank you so much!

That was one of the most beautiful views I’ve seen from a Hipcamp site. It was close to town but very remote. It was a pleasure to be awakened by a small herd of cows in the AM.

It was delightful that the camping spot was away from the road with nothing in sight but the striking Shawagunks, chill cows, and lots of trees. We enjoyed watching the sunset and sitting around the campfire to see Mercury, Jupiter and Venus come into view near the horizon. In the morning we biked the couple miles to hop on the bike path that runs up through New Paltz and over to Kingston.

Beautiful private campsite with an excellent view. The site was clean, well maintained, and the picnic table plus raised sleeping platform were really helpful and made setup easy. The footprint is a bit narrow — probably around 30 feet wide — so it may be less ideal for families with younger kids who want a lot of open space to run around or throw a ball. For a couple or smaller group looking for a scenic, comfortable site and again - that view (sunset was incredible and day time equally so). And so reasonably priced!

Beautiful scenery with cows, apple trees and the Catskills in the background. Rustic camping with beautiful scenery. The road in is a little bit rugged - but not too bad. I enjoyed my stay very much!!

We had a wonderful 2 nights at Mohonk Mountain View Farm. The mountain views were stunning, especially during sunrise and sunset. The campsite felt peaceful, private, and well cared for. It was the perfect place to relax, enjoy nature, and spend quality time outdoors. Everything about the stay felt easy and enjoyable, and the host made us feel welcome. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet escape with beautiful scenery.

Overall this is an amazing place to camp!! When we arrived we were greeted by about a dozen cows that came immediately to the wire fence. They stayed for a long time while we set up camp and it was a wonderful feeling to have them there.
The view of the mountains is fantastic and the night sky was great. There is a bit of noise from the road but mostly during the night it is animal sounds.
The tent platform is a bit rickety but was fine.
Two things that I have a problem with. One is that there were no signs. There is no way that anyone is going to find the site without some instructions.
My other and main complaint is that the advertised cost said $64. However when you book it said $75 and there were almost $15 in fees. So instead of $64 and a small fee the total came to just under $90. Although I did agree to this by clicking on the reservation, we needed a place for the night, I think it is absurd to have such a markup. Really it’s a bait and switch. Either the farm needs to change something or Hipcamp needs to change something. It’s definitely not hip. So shame on you Hipcamp.

We camped here over a weekend while do some rock climbing up in the Gunks. The land was beautiful and the site was exactly as expected. We enjoyed the cows and be sure to check out their farm store and brewery down the road, we cooked with ingredients mostly all from there.

Awesome spot with a raised platform that faces the mountains / sunset with a crystal clear view of the stars at night. It is private and situated on a long stretch of grass that is perfect to let your dog roam and play ball. Very farm feeling with cows that come up to say hi and sounds of roosters and crickets.
Would highly recommend and would visit again. I would add to the amenities that there is a griddle and cast iron in the little wooden storage cabinet for campfire cooking.

The campsite was perfect—beautiful views, spacious, and very private. I couldn’t have asked for more! Having a gas station just 2–3 minutes drive away was also super convenient. A big pleasant surprise was the cows visiting us several times a day—my kids absolutely loved it!

The only positives were the privacy and the nature—the cows and wildlife were neat, and great mountain view. Easy access to town, but overall the stay was a little frustrating. The directions are outdated, and without calling the host we never would’ve found it. When we did call, she seemed annoyed and never checked in afterward, as well as no contact prior to arrival. The land itself hasn’t been maintained that well, there are groundhog holes everywhere, which felt unsafe. I brought my dog and was worried he could easily break a leg running around. It seems like the listing hasn’t been updated or cared for in a long time. If you book, expect confusion getting there and be cautious once you arrive.

The site is gorgeous, tidy, and private. The sun sets over the ridge beyond the meadow, and the sweet cows keep you company on the other side of the fence. A platform, two Adirondack chairs, a fire pit, stove, table and benches make for a very comfortable stay. Highly recommend for families. The cows keep the kids engaged while you get set up! We’ll be back!

This was an amazing stay—the camp ground was picturesque & super private, finding it was a breeze (the directions were spot on!) & the host was really communicative & kind! If you come, definitely stop by the farm store—all the produce we got was delicious.

This place was so serene! You’re nestled far from the main road, lots of privacy, and the cows near by add a really sweet touch. My dogs loved the space and having no neighbors as well.

We got a little lost looking for the dirt road to the campsite, but everything worked out once we found it. The site had beautiful mountain views, a sturdy platform, a fairly large picnic table, and a small fire pit area. We didn't use their chairs, but nice to have. Cows visited us both nights and it made for an even better experience. Private and relaxing space! And Don't miss out on Wrights Farm about 3 mins away. Their cider donuts and jams are delicious!

The campsite was advertised as having a fire pit and chiminea. Upon our arrival, we found a sign stating “BURN BAN NO FIRES.” The host did NOT inform me of the burn ban prior to our arrival. Temps were expected to hit 32° and we only had food that could be cooked over a fire. I immediately contacted the host and told them about this, but they did not respond.
We waited at the site for a half hour but the host did not respond. We left the campsite, booked a nearby hotel, and requested a refund.
Hours later, the host replied and said we could have a small fire. I explained that we had already paid for a hotel and would proceed with the refund request. The host denied our request for a refund.
Hipcamp customer service reviewed the dispute and said that it was ultimately up to the host whether or not to issue the refund.
This was poorly handled by both the host and Hipcamp customer service.
Be cautious when booking with this host as they have very poor communication.

This was my first Hip Camp stay. The land was as advertised (great open and private property, friendly cows, and a great view). The weather turn out for the worse on our weekend but as seasoned campers we made the best of it. My friend and I talked about coming back at some point with the family and make a bigger trip out of it.
