This amazing 50 acre farm is on the State and National Historic Register. Once part of the Milton Bodine land tract, this property has been privately owned for 4 generations. Come explore all Riverside Farm has to offer. **BEST IN NEW YORK 2022 and 2023** Voted Hipcamp #1 place to visit for 2022 *Riverside Farm was granted one of the States first Conditional Adult Use Cannabis Cultivation Licenses and has since formed FlowerHouse NY. The cultivation of New York's first licensed cannabis crops and products are happening offsite, at another location. However Riverside Farm is still an active and working Farm* Follow along @FlowerHouse_ny and @Waldenriversidefarminc This picturesque family farm is conveniently located just 80 miles from both Manhattan and Albany. Riverside Farm offers 1600 feet of direct river access, ponds, rolling meadows and woodlands. You’ll have 50 acres of freedom to enjoy at your leisure. There are convenient walking paths cut throughout the property to help guide you. The farm is yours to explore, check out the beautiful, historical barns, old school hand water pumps, the old-world windmill and other hidden treasures. All the campsites have plenty of space between each other (roughly 300 ft), and they all have their own access points to the river. We are approximately 1.5 miles from Angry Orchard Cider House. The new City Winery in Montgomery is minutes away. We are located right in the middle of the Shawangunk Wine Trail and have dozens of wineries and craft breweries within 20 miles of the farm. World class hiking trails and breathtaking views await at Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Mountain House, both just 15 miles away. The Bashakill Preserve is home to some of the best bird watching in the Northeast and is 5 miles away. The walkway over the Hudson and fine dining options at Newburgh's waterfront are also within a short 20 minute drive. The Shawangunk, Wallkill and Hudson Valley rail trails are easily accessible for those wanting to bike or jog. This listing is for "Site 5" which sits apart from our other campsites. The site is for tents or RVs. It is spacious and private. You have a 12x16 wooden platform to use for your own tent or to relax in two Adirondack chairs. The site has a 2 picnic table to comfortably seat 8 people. This site does not have porta-potty access. You will have a personal camping-style toilet which uses "potty bags" (provided) inside a wooden outhouse. You are responsible for bringing up toilet waste and other garbage to the dumpster. Please read the campsite rules when you arrive on site. This picturesque family farm is conveniently located just 80 miles from both Manhattan and Albany. It was the first time we stayed at site #3 and we really loved it. It’s very private, spacious for two, and with nice access to the river. We love the new additions to the property like the swing and walking paths. It’s always so great to be back at Riverside!

Riverside campsite is a really special place. It’s isolated yet accessible. The campgrounds and the entire property is very well maintained. My 4 year-old particularly loved going up the road to use the old-school water pump to get freshwater. The river itself is not very deep and doesn't flow fast so it’s not a dangerous high-alert situation with children. There are a lot of bugs, but thats camping. Unavoidable. Sam the host was kind and welcoming.

The site is really a gem. Spectacularly beautiful. We had neighbors but we never saw or heard them. However I was quite surprised by the quality and condition of the port-a-potty. My expectations weren't high, but I was genuinely surprised at the condition. Overfilled with waste, no toilet paper, an hand sanitizer. Pretty gross overall. For the premium we paid, I did expect better.

Historic Riverside Farm Site 1 or 2
We had an incredible experience at Historic Riverside Farm! I stayed at Campsite 1 with my son and a friend, and we had an amazing weekend. We love fishing, and having the river right next to our campsite was perfect. We caught several smallmouth bass and some big catfish. 🎣 For anyone who loves fishing, nightcrawlers and small spoons worked really well for us! The campsite is beautiful, peaceful, clean and well organized. Site 1 has plenty of shade, trees for hammocks, a picnic table, and a clean portable toilet nearby. Melissa was an amazing host and very kind to us. She even brought firewood directly to our campsite, and we bought a couple dozen fresh eggs from the farm — highly recommended! I also flew my drone over the property and noticed a huge peace symbol cut into the landscape, which was really cool. This has definitely been my favorite camping trip this summer. Great fishing, beautiful surroundings and a wonderful host. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you, Melissa!

Amazing location right off the river, I was at site 2. The tree over our site was like a perfect sunshade. Beautiful land would come again with the dogs, they had tons of fun running up and down the hill. Saw deer on property as well!

We stayed on site 1 with a group of 9 people - we loved exploring the property and especially enjoyed pumping fresh water from the well and swinging on the swings. The porta potty was clean. Everything went smoothly and we had a restful trip, highly recommend!

One thing that struck us was the diversity of plants, trees and wildlife. The campsite was well tended but not overly manicured. Sam & Melissa handled a delicate situation directly to our satisfaction and with a professional attitude. Would highly recommend this hipcamp!

From the moment I made my reservation, I was getting messages from the host welcoming me and giving me options where to stay… honestly I would love to keep this place a secret. My site (#3) was on the water. It was very large for one family with a pit, place to put a big tent and private access to a beautiful river where I immediately jumped it. ( it s summer so it s shallow… but it constantly mi e and he super clean. I would imagine great place for fly fishing). Anyway my son and I walked to the swings up the hill and enjoyed that view too. There was no noise , it was so private, so easily accessible. The wood that was provided was plenty for the nite and dry ready to be burned. The grounds were immaculate and freshly cut. This was a true gift . Thank you

The site is very secluded. Especially Site 3 we camped on our car with the family. We enjoyed late night bonfire, the host is very hospitable and helpful. Although camping in the car on summer is very hot but we enjoyed our night away from the city. I tried to fish in the river didn’t catch anything LOL 😂 we arrived late at night me and my family wished we arrived earlier to enjoy the whole day there. But we will definitely coming back in the site mostly likely this coming fall . 🍂🍂🍂 THE SITE IS SECLUDED AND DEFINITELY CAN HAVE YOUR PEACE & PRIVACY HERE!

I loved camping at the Historic Farm campground. It was very private and quiet. The campground is on the bank of the Wallkill River. The land is very well maintained and so lovely to hear see and feel all the nature while being on a farm. A true wonderful experience camping there.

We spent an idyllic evening at Sam and Melissa’s farm. Picturesque and tranquil 💚We sat by the river and watched blue herons fish and we wandered around their lovely grounds w our dog. We were in camp spot #2 and it was clean and smartly set up on a wood chipped space under a massive tree w a lovely view of the river. Melissa dropped off a stack of firewood and some fresh eggs for breakfast. An amazing experience in a stunning setting w fabulous hosts- doesn’t get any better than this! We can’t wait to return. Thank you Sam and Melissa for sharing your piece of paradise w us!

What a lovely experience, Sam & Melissa land was amazing, super clean. We are first timer using Hipcamp, they made the bar really high... everything was perfect the weather, the camping site and all the amenities. Each Hip camp seems to get better and this is the best so far. Cannot wait for our next adventure. Will definitely return to this clean, private and peaceful shaded campsite high and dry but right on the river bank with river view and sound. Level ground is abundant at this site. Very welcoming and friendly hosts on arrival directing us on how to proceed to the site #2. The cut walking paths through the wildflower filled fields were also a highlight.
