We had such a nice stay at Mike's! We come out to Rockaway often so it was a nice change of pace to stay the night and wake up there. The camper is super cute, just the right amount of space. The vibe is so unique. Not so many true urban beach towns like Rockaway! We had a ridiculous dinner at Whit's End around the corner. It was a very good time. Thanks Mike!

Vintage Camper in Rockaway Beach!
cute
We had a nice stay. Everything was as expected. Be sure your partner is on board and reads the description or there might be problems. It is not luxurious but it is definately better than camping and I think we had the best beach day of our lives. Not much privacy, windows without shades...I kinda felt like half of Queens watched me shower but the shower was a nice way to end the day. Some music at night but we were so tire we were ok with it. cute.

The stay at Mike's camper was overall good. There are some things that need updates but the location to the beach was perfect, about a 10 minute walk. Things to be aware of: the chairs were not in the best condition, rusty/ripped. The available scooters are old razor scooters and one was rusted shut, even Mike was gracious enough to try and open for us but to no avail and was very apologetic to this fact. The one sleep spot that is set up as a bed from the start was fine, but the table to turn into a bed was broken from day one making this tough to fit two people in separate beds. We were able to slide our cooler underneath to make due but the joints and table top that held up the setup had seen better days. I would recommend this stay to others but just make sure that all of this is kept in mind. It was a great last minute option for us.

Unique urban camping near the beach
We had a great time at Mike's vintage caravan. Perfect way to end a day at the Rockaways and be close enough to enjoy another early beach day. The caravan was very rustic and clean and steps up from tent camping. The air conditioner kept us cool, the bed was very comfortable and it was a cozy space to spend the night. The outdoor shower and bathroom were so cute and private despite being outside but remember to bring a flash light/lantern or use ur phone light for bathroom at night. The area is near the airport so you can hear plane traffic at night which may be loud for some but I had travel earplugs so I slept comfortably. Some of the windows didnt have any shades or curtains ,but the camper is enclosed inside the property so that portion was not open to public view. Mike the host was very responsive and offered to let us use the coolers, beach chairs and scooters on the property during our stay. It had a great lil picnic table with string lights,it created a nice little outdoor space .Overall great lil beach glamping getaway. Would come to stay again.

We pretend we live here
Repeat customers - escaping the Brooklyn heat wave and enjoying the beach camper vibes. Mike goes above and beyond as a host- thanks so much for everything!
The location is amazing everything you need right there: The beach, the boardwalk, the wave, skate park, restaurant and a laid back home away from home.

Great crash pad for beach hang
Totally as advertised. Camper and bathroom were clean & location was great. Was great to have the beach equipment on hand. Mike was prompt & responsive. No frills. To use the bathroom you need to leave camper & go into house basement which was a drag at night but otherwise fine.
We had amazing breakfasts at Bernadette’s & Rockaway Bakery—don’t miss them!

Cozy & Convenient
My husband and I had a lovely time staying in Mike's Vintage camper for my birthday weekend! Our host was incredibly accommodating - allowed us to check in AND check out late, set up the camper to be nice and toasty when we arrived, offered to grab us some coal for the grill, recommended awesome food spots (Whits End: AMAZING PIZZA) and stopped by to check in on us.
The space was cozy and perfect for a couple who wants to relax after a long day at the beach.
The bathroom is located on the other side of the houee through a door and down the stairs, we had no issue with it!
We had easy access to basics like cups/plates/utensils/coffee/paper towel/cooler of water. We had plenty of clean blankets and towels in the camper for us to use as well as a coffee maker and toaster oven we could plug in. The outdoor shower was the highlight of the stay for me.
Camper was located across the street from the S train and literally blocks away from the beach each direction, not to mention a 24 hr deli down the street. Super convenient, also something in me really loved the cozy, romance of cuddling up in the camper listening to music as the pinapple lights glowed, hearing the classic ding of the subway cars in the distance and the smell of distant beach cookouts. It was heaven and we will be back again. Thanks Mike!

Fun Rockaway Getaway
Mike's place is a perfect place to rest your head should you want to surf or hit the beach, or even just stroll the boardwalk or grab some good food at Whit's End.
Nestled in a vibrant neighborhood, there's a lot to see right out the window of the cozy camper - it isn't a dull spot.
Right off the shuttle subway it's also a stone's throw to get to without a car so ideal for a night out of the city.
