A grassy meadow nestled between a forested ridge and the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, an open-access walking and bike path. The Rosendale Rail Trail Cafe is just across the meadow from you, and the Rosendale trestle bridge is a short bike or walk away.
We have hot water showers and heated bathrooms in the Owlwood. Use our hand-drawn map to find your way around the farm.
Please drive extremely slowly while on the farm road (7.2 mph), there are kids and critters everywhere, and your car will thank you! Also, we encourage everyone to drive as little as possible while on the farm; why drive when you can walk and enjoy the land?
If you want to sleep in a car, van, truck, or RV, you must contact us ahead of your arrival so we can tell you where to car camp. No cars are allowed in Red Fox Meadow! Relax at Tilden Hill Farm its a 155 acre farm raising Black Angus Cattle it has been in the Brewer family for seven generations. Founded in 1798 by Josiah Brewer, the farm has served as a grist mill, chicken farm, cheese factory.
We offer several types of site selection for your comfort. Choose from our private tent camping to relaxing RV sites. Our tent sites are quiet and scenic, just a quick walk down to the pond. Some of our sites you can park next to, but a few you will have to walk ~100 yards with your belongings. There are 2 bath houses on the campground with hot showers and toilets.
All sites include a fire pit and picnic table. We have 10 full hook up sites (water/electric/sewer) and 9 sites with water and electric. There is a dump station and fire wood available to all for a fee.
Once settled in, take a meandering walk through our 12 miles of walking trails or find your way down to our pond. Water activities are plentiful: fishing for bass, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, we accommodate it all!

For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka.
Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinary spots on earth that make you feel like you’re in another world. The sites aren’t suitable for parties or loud groups.
It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below.
The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls.
Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside
At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. There are 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water.
This is a leave no trace site. Take all your trash with you when you leave. Bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty!
Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log.
The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by.
Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). Nearby hikes include Looking Glass Pond and Vroman's Nose, and others.

Pooh's Corner lies in a rural area just 1.5 miles from Watkins Glen. (3315 County Road 28, Watkins Glen, NY 14891). We took great care to make sure each campsite is PRIVATE (parking on-site*) and the trails are easily navigable. Our 'Welcome Shed' is equipped with a compost toilet, local information, (newly added) Hot Water Station, first-aid kit, charging station, bug spray etc. and is located in a safe, well lit, open area on the property. Each site is equipped with a fire pit and comfortable seating with tables, chairs, and/or picnic tables and tripod grills. Firewood is available on a donation basis.
There are State Parks and places to hike one of the many gorges around beautiful Seneca Lake and surrounding area. Take a tour of the many wineries and breweries which our region is famous for. Enjoy hiking, swimming, biking, kayaking, and many historical sites to see. Our reviews tell it all. We know you'll love it here :)
*PLEASE NOTE: Our sites are custom made for TENT or CAR camping. Because we have "parking on-site", Large RVs, Campers (over 16'), and any 5th-wheel campers are very difficult to place since there are no easy ways to back in or turn around. We highly recommend "Havana Glen State Park" (same general area) for those types of camping units.

Slate Valley Trails and Merck Forest are close by. Places to picnic, enjoy the sunset, and idle are a plenty. Our farm stand is stocked with seasonal produce, jams, eggs, and bagged ice. We have three camp sites on a 200-acre parcel of secluded, rural farm land. We are a working pasture based farm where you can see how grass fed beef, pork, chicken, and eggs are produced. There's nothing quite like fresh eggs and bacon after waking up to the sunrise over a fog-filled valley!
When you arrive we will provide a complimentary carton of pastured raised eggs and you are welcome to visit our web site (redhouseranch . net) or store to order meats for your stay and/or to take with you upon your departure. We have a wide variety of grass fed beef, pasture raised pork, snack sticks for long hikes, and dog bones and smoked treats for your furry friends. Many of our items are well suited for campfire cooking. Keep in mind that all our products are frozen so be sure to plan for time to thaw. If you're not sure what that involves - we're here to help.
We are a working farm but, much of our property is not grazed or farmed. You are welcome to explore the entire area while also getting a glimpse of sustainable, pasture-based, farming methods. Learn more about us and the history of the farm at our website.
As you roam the hills and forests you'll eventually bump into some of our animals. Please do not enter the animal enclosures or touch any of the electrified fence lines. If you really want to pet a piggie or hold a chicken - just reach out to Ike or Dave and we will gladly arrange this for you.
Red House Ranch is also the perfect spot for wildlife enthusiasts and bird watchers. During your stay you may encounter eagles, blue herons, coyotes, turtles, wild turkeys, foxes, the endangered bobolink bird (its unique call sounds a bit like R2D2), deer, great horned owls, and many unique plants. It's not uncommon to hear the coyotes howling at night.
In addition to hiking trails with incredible views, there are four ponds on the property easily accessible with mown paths. One is very large with a dock and suitable for swimming, paddling, fishing, or just relaxing but the water. The other three are smaller and are now primarily wildlife habitat. easily accessible with mown paths
If you're feeling adventurous, there is a more strenuous hike down into the creek bed where you can find miniature versions of the gorges and waterfalls that our region is known for. We are happy to provide maps and guidance or leave you to your own devices.
When skies are clear our area has very little light pollution and excellent star visibility. It's a great place to view the night sky during a meteor shower.

Primitive Camp on the Esopus Creek in the Big Indian-Oliverea Valley surrounded by seven 3500' Catskill High Peaks including Slide Mountain, the tallest in the Catskills. Our PRIVATE camp (no other campers) is situated on 100 acres of land in the middle of the Catskill State Park. We are the closest HipCamp site to Slide Mountain, the Catskills tallest peak at 4180 feet. A perfect base camp for some of the best hiking in the Catskills, the site is bordered by Forever Wild Forest and is minutes from the trailheads to Balsam, Giant Ledge, Panther, Big Indian, Slide Mountain and dozens more peaks within 30 minutes or so away.
Though the base fee covers up to 4 campers, the site accommodates up to 14 campers. The additional fee is $20.00/per camper per night on top of the base fee.
Our drive up camp includes a 10X12 covered tent platform, several individual tent sites with private fire rings, as well as a bunkhouse and a leanto for day use. The camp table and cook pit are covered from the elements.
The camp also features the newly designed and built 'Little Bear Cabin', an 11X14 cabin that sleeps 6 with covered porch, with two Queen sized and one double bunk and comfortable 4" thick Thermarest MondoKing mattresses, chairs and a table with a wood burning stove for those chilly nights. The cabin has an additional fee of $30.00/night and can be booked in the extras section at check-out. The cabin does not include bedding so bring your own gear. If tent camping only, the cabin will remain locked and closed unless requested after arrival.
For toilet use, we have a CleanWaste loo which is a 5 gal bucket in a toilet seat box. You lift the lid, place a CleanWaste bag in the bucket which has a kitty litter like powder called Poo Powder in it. You do your business, the powder absorbs all the odor and gels all the matter. When done, you lift the seat, take out the bag, tie it up and throw it in the trash.
There are camp rules about how to handle trash, recycling, and compost so as to minimize the possibility of black bear visits. Follow those rules so as to avoid a penalty fees of $50.00 if trash, recycling, and compost are not followed. A detailed message about trash, recycling, and compost practice will be sent to campers days before the booked trip.
Seasoned bundled 16" firewood is available by honor box cash payment on Brown rd across the camp entry road.

We bought our beautiful 23 acres with our hacienda on it more than 30 years ago and we have had friends come camp here over the years. Our friends love to swim in our pond and bring their dogs over for hikes and mountain bike rides so we decided to open it up for others to enjoy. We are LGBTQ+ ally.

Group trip
Staying on Heather’s land at Slateville was such an amazing experience that my friends and I got to share. The drive over is beautiful and scenic with farms upon farms rolling past you. Heather was an amazing host and more than accommodating, the farm shop and extra camping gear she provided was super helpful. When we arrived she lead us to our site through her land, the drive up the hill was exhilarating, you could see everything from up there. The site itself was breath taking, we were fully secluded and rarely ran into any other campers. The quarry site is spacious and everything is provided. My group and I were blown away and had the most wonderful stay. Would go again, Homies trip 2027

We had such a wonderful time here! My husband and I realized our kids were at camp for the week and we could actually get away and tent for a night, just the two of us. Sharon was very accommodating even though I booked a little last-minute.
It was such a sweet little property - I would’ve been happy staying at any of the spots, but we chose the top one with the best view, and the sky was showing off as we set up camp!
Then, after dark, the fireflies were just stunning!!! It was so peaceful - just what I was hoping for. I slept great (this is saying a LOT - I sleep light and almost never sleep great when we are camping, especially at “campgrounds”). This was my first time using the HipCamp app, and I stumbled across it quite by accident…but I am SOLD. Not having noisy people 15 feet away partying when you’re trying to sleep is just amazing.
We also enjoyed the quiet this morning as we got up and made breakfast over the fire.
It was also very handy having a port-a-potty onsite, for convenience.
10 out of 10 recommend this lovelyyyy spot. And we may be back again.

This site had a great view of a small log cabin on the edge of a pond and was right next to the goats and cattle which came by to check us out as we moved in.
Not that there is a bad site at this campground! They are all level, new gravel, a fire ring and utilities if needed. The whole campground and farm are a wonderful experience.

What a great spot! The Apple Grove was so peaceful and being right next to the trail to the waterfall was amazing! It is a quite steep descent to the bottom, but so worth it! Loved this campsite!

Weekend Trip to Waterfall Sanctuary & Quiet Retreat
Extremely private, amazing proximity to one of the best waterfalls I’ve swam at in recent memory, really special place. We did not see the host nor did we see those staying at the other camp site.

Very large site. Level pad. This is by far the best rv camp we've stayed at. It's fairly new and well groomed. I'm reluctant to gush how great it is because once it is well known it will be hard to get reservations. :)

This is our third time back at Tilden Hill, with two more booked! The hosts are very accommodating and helpful. We love the fishing and seeing the cows graze. The goats are a great addition, we loved visiting and petting them. This time we walked some of the trails and had a deer cross our path which was a highlight. This is a great place to experience nature and enjoy the outdoors

Weekend Trip to TainoWoods Fairy Magical Sweet Land
Loved being here! The land is lush and deeply respected. The tent setup is perfect and we enjoyed being near a babbling river! Jesse sang earth blessings to us every morning and evening-what a beautiful experience. Challenging walk down to tent site, but we’ll worth it! Will visit again!!

Easy and low key. The Rail Trail Cafe was right next to the campsite, portapotties were nearby and clean, and bathhouse was a short walk. Right next to the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail. There were other visitors in the vicinity as a result as well as a few musical performances, but everything wound down at a respectable hour and was fun and interesting while it took place.

We stayed over on our roadtrip home after visiting family. Beautiful little spot tucked just a little ways into the woods. Short walk to portable water. Bit of an uphill walk to bathroom with showers, but they were clean and nice. Porta-potties available closer. Lots of fun hiking/mountain biking trails my kids enjoyed exploring. I would recommend. Friendly and helpful host.

Had an amazing time camping at the Mountain Brook site! Michael and his wife are incredibly kind and helpful in providing a rain canopy and firewood at the site. The seclusion of this site is perfect for those looking to completely disconnect. 0.5 mile hike into the site definitely a bit challenging with gear so be prepared for that but totally worth it for the remoteness of this site. Best sleep I’ve ever had camping with the mountain brook provided the perfect white noise.

Very nice and relaxing place. Well taken care of nice mode groom trails. Camp host was very nice very helpful by telling me places that I can bring my son in the area for hikes walks and to see local waterfalls. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody.

Weekend Trip to Glamping Tent Overlooking Waterfall
