We had an amazing stay at Peconic River Campgrounds and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing camping getaway on Long Island. The campground was clean, peaceful, and very well maintained, with spacious sites and a welcoming atmosphere for families, couples, car campers, and pet owners alike.
The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and Tyler was especially very responsive and accommodating whenever we had questions or needed assistance. The location was perfect for enjoying nature while still being close to nearby towns and attractions. We especially enjoyed the lake and the scenic walking trails, which made it easy to relax, unwind, and enjoy the outdoors. It was also great to find such a pet-friendly campground where dogs are welcome and there’s plenty of space to walk and explore. The wooded surroundings and peaceful environment really added to the overall experience.
Whether you’re tent camping, RV camping, or car camping with your pets, this campground offers a great balance of comfort and outdoor adventure. We’ll definitely be returning in the future!

We brought our teardrop trailer and had a wonderful time at the campground. Tyler was awesome, very responsive, and accommodating. The grounds were very well kept and the bathrooms were spotless. Would definitely come back!!

This was my 2nd time coming here and I love it! I planned a family camping trip with the girls and we had a great time. It was there first time and we already want to go back. I always feel safe when I go. Tyler is always great.

Amazing quick getaway from the city. All the amenities if your not a “primitive “ camper and seems super kid friendly.
The owner is a stand up human and that speaks volumes.

We went in mid-April. There were very few others there so it was quiet with some traffic noise. It was also clean. The nicest porto potties we ever used. We paddled the Carmans Creek in Shirley which was beautiful and easy. Tyler was very responsive and helpful. Nice place.

This was a great place. The site was well maintained with clean bathrooms, access to Fire pits, tables, chairs and lots of River access for fishing. Tyler came by, checked on us and offered fire wood. Thanks Tyler, we will be back.

When you pull in, there is a sign to call and let the host know. Its first come first choice. We arrived around 6pm on a Monday in April and had the place practically to ourselves. There are about 5 spots that are waterfront. The sites have good space between and the host was great. There are port-a-potty options and a dumpster on the way out for trash. Each sop had a fire ring and some had chairs/picnic tables. We had a great stay, the weather was perfect. I felt completely safe here as a female (I know we travel solo sometimes and its important to note)! The host made a few rounds to check on campers and I would definitely stay here again.

It was a pretty campground with picnic benches and lots of lawn chairs to lounge on. I ate my dinner on the beautiful edge of the lake and the host came by to check on the campground and sell us firewood. I would recommend it!

I have been coming here every spring and fall for the past 2 years and I had a wonderful time. Tyler is nice and friendly and comes to check on things daily. Highly recommended this place.

Great location, close to a gas station, the highway and even Walmart is nearby. There's a lake that was really nice to bird watch and saw some kayakers. Peaceful and Tyler is ready to help if anything is needed. Water is available, very convenient and portable bathrooms were decent. Also dumpster on grounds so you can make sure you leave it as clean as you found it. Overall we had a good experience for our first time camping, recommended!

This campground was perfect for me as a first time camper. Clean, nice views, and a plenty of room. Tyler is great, came by and checked in on me, made sure I had fire wood. I can’t wait to come back here and camp again!!

Cool little spot. Cleanest port a potties I’ve ever seen. Lots of chairs and solid picnic tables (been to so many sites with the tables all rickety). Would definitely stay again.

Great spot! Be warned that there are muddy spots here and there, but beautiful place to camp. Will be back!

Beautiful campground with water, fire ring and table on site. There is an outdoor shower and porta potty’s as well. Tyler was very nice, periodically does his rounds to check on people and has firewood to sell if you need. I will definitely be back, me and my pup had a great time! Highly recommend!

I prefer a little more foliage between sites for privacy, and it is a little close to the main road, but it was just background noise to me. And I’m not a fan of Porto-potties, but they were clean. The extra Adirondack chairs and furniture was a nice touch. And Tyler, the owner, is very nice guy and helpful.

A lovely spot for simple, straightforward camping of any kind. I like that there's room for RVs, cars, tents, and hammocks. Having water and toilets nearby is another nice feature here. It was a perfect solution for my one night of very comfortable and convenient car camping.

I love the Peconic River Campground. It's very quiet, peaceful, and the grounds are beautiful. The Peconic River / Forge Pond access from the property is picturesque. I love kayaking there, too. Each site has a picnic table, fire pit, and chairs. Tyler comes around daily to see if you need firewood. It's very low key, simple, and the port-a-potties were clean. It's all you need, nothing more, nothing less. I'll be back. I recommend it.

It was our second stay and a Nor’Easter! The grounds were empty but maybe 3 sites occupied.
Tyler is ever vigilant with safety and doing his rounds, got us some extra fire wood and hunkered down! Porta Potties so clean and well maintained. Property clean and quiet.
The storm was quite intense but our experience was not affected. We will always be back!
