Safe, quiet, and plan to return!
16 ft travel trailer · With kids · We really enjoyed our stay at Hartwoods. The site is well-marked at the end of a residential road; we felt safe having neighbors nearby, and we also had privacy. There is a gun range in close proximity down the road, but there weren't many cars driving by at all, and it was far enough away to not cause a noise issue. The site has water and electric hook-ups, and it appears as though there will be sewer hook-up in the future. While in Guilford, we visited Lavender Pond Farm which has a train that takes you around the property, Bishop's Orchard which had an awesome set up for kids (mini-excavators, bubbles, pedal bikes and more), and Gillette Castle which has trails and beautiful scenery (you can also take a tour). It was definitely a great hub for our stay. The site is level and has gravel, there were only a handful of mosquitos, and overall it was very quiet and safe. We parked our camper near the fire pit which allowed us more room to spread out, but it did have full sun during the day which got hot. It wasn't a big deal for us since we were out and about, but if you are looking to have more shade during the day, I'd recommend parking your camper / pitching your tent on the more narrow part when you pull in. We are definitely planning to visit Hartwoods again in the future!
