The Terry is an adorable vintage 1970’s camper trailer nestled in the back corner secret garden area of Marina 59, a marina on the bayside of Far Rockaway, Queens, NYC filled with creative structures, beautiful boats and wonderful wildlife. The RV has a full size RV bed that cozily fits 2, and a banquet table that can also transform into a smaller bed if needed. There is a new, powerful AC, and there is WiFi. The bathrooms, with large comfortable showers, are a quick walk away at the Marina entrance. Your rental includes parking in the marina lot and a clicker to come and go as desired. Outside the doors, there’s a decent super market, a Dunkin’ Donuts, and a gas station. The beach is only three blocks away. We are close to JFK airport - super convenient, but you will hear some plane traffic overhead. We're the perfect spot to stay if you have a layover at the airport and want to head to the beach. I've opened a shipping container store, Tree Rock NYC, it's powered by solar panels and is right by the bathroom, stop in and check us out! The Terry is a perfect retreat for surfers, sun lovers, bird watchers and anyone who loves to enjoy all that Rockaway has to offer. And it’s an easy breezy subway / bus / ferry / drive away from the city! In summer, there are surfing classes, sailing and fishing trips, and numerous concerts and performances. I'm very willing to help you find the fun and adventure you seek here in Rockaway.

Weekend Trip to Forest Treasure Island
We had a great camping experience in the woods! The property is beautiful, with its own farm, garden, and cozy patios equipped with BBQ grills—perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. Even though we were switched from the Cabbage Tent to a regular tent, our host Diana went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Her hospitality truly made the stay memorable. Highly recommend!

The Yurt Sanctuary was calm peaceful place to stay near the beach. We used it to have a place to crash after a fishing trip and grill etc! Every was as listed, one thing you might want to keep in mind during summer month it does get hot! But the evening was very cool and comfy with the fans but luckily the beach is literally a 7min drive. We had a blast and will definitely come back again!

We really enjoyed this campground, it is in a great location, easy to find. Sites are spaced out nicely and it wasn’t too crowded or loud. Multiple porta potties, a shower, and some hoses for fresh water were awesome to have as well. Most of the sites have tables and chairs which is a nice bonus. Our favorite part was fishing in the river!

Had a nice time camping at Peconic River Campground! It was simple, with a large field with people pulling up and camping all around, a medium amount of trees and a beautiful lake. Just don't expect privacy or to feel like you're in a rural area. Bathrooms are portapottie. It's good for an easy camping trip not a far drive from civilization. Tyler is very responsive and helpful. Not sure it was worth the price but its Long Island.

Tyler pointed out the amenities of the rustic campground, asked if we had any questions and was on his way. My only complaint was that the highway noises were loud. Camp site was nice, Jan and her family were so welcoming! Our kids got along really well and they had so much fun! We went fishing on Norwalk River and that was fun too! Campsite had a nice sized tent and blow up mattresses for us to use! We also got t Fresh farm eggs from the chickens on property and enjoyed them for breakfast!

We had an excellent stay at Jan and Diana’s! The tents are in the forest yet close to their house which gave us both privacy and the opportunity to use their amazing backyard which our kids loved - playground, farm animals, sandbox… The tents were ready for us and spacious. Jan and Diana were there that weekend and very kind, helping out whenever we needed - they got us dish soap which we had forgotten, offered that we use veggies from their garden etc. We ordered the breakfast which turned out to be an excellent brunch.

What an incredible and unexpected local find! Our stay at this luxury farm was truly one-of-a-kind. From the moment we arrived via long wooden driveway we were welcomed with genuine warmth. Next morning we ordered breakfast but it turns more like lunch , and that was fantastic , if you are Eastern European please go there for real home made tvarog and real sour cream , milk with cream on top, can’t believe it’s still possible to find. We got 3 kinds of tea with 4 options for sugaring , 3 kinds of honey , all organica /GMOs free item , with home made 3 kinds of beads. That lunch was true luxury gourmet pleasure not just meal . Every foodie should go there just to have that experience)). The property itself is a nature lover’s paradise — with an astonishing variety of rare bird breeds roaming freely, including vibrant peacocks that added a magical touch to the scenery. Alongside them were friendly goose , goats and other farm animals, creating a peaceful, countryside charm that both adults and children would adore. 17 min to ocean The accommodations were spotless, with all brand-new, thoughtfully selected items for a comfortable night’s sleep but bring our bedding /piloows This isn’t your ordinary farm stay; it’s a unique experience blending nature, culture, and quiet luxury. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone seeking something refreshingly different than just camping Have to add that Germans puppies just so fun for any age to play with

Camping in Fire Island National Seashore guide

About

The Fire Island National Seashore is a different experience during high (tourist) season and the rest of the year. During summertime, you can expect mad crowds. As soon as Labor Day hits, the crowds die down, even though the weather typically remains great for another month or so. However, you may find that the shops, restaurants, and even the ferries start to shut down once summer's over. If you know what kind of experience you prefer, time your visit to avoid (or be in the middle of) the hustle and bustle.

The soft sand at Watch Hill feels luxurious—and if you stroll a bit eastward, you're likely to find an even emptier swath of beach. Walking around the Watch Hill Marina and nature trails is a lot of fun (bring insect repellent!), and the ferry trip to Davis Island is definitely worthwhile. If you plan to visit the sunken forest, that mosquito repellent is mandatory (these tiny monsters will follow you back to the beach!) This ecological phenomenon is perhaps the only one like it in the world.
