It was a pleasure to Camp in Kathleen's property. Beautiful hiking trails, and pond / waterfall. We forgot the frame for the tent and she provided a fix for us. She was amazing. I truly recommend it. She was very attentive to all our needs and I cannot recommend it enough!

We stayed on site 3. The campsite was big and easy to find. Bathrooms and potable water are within a short walk. Kathleen is a great host, came to check if we needed anything. Something to keep in mind as always when camping, know what poison IVY looks like and spray for bugs and ticks. We had a pop up tent with bug screens to cover our table and eating area. I highly recommend it.

When I arrived Kathleen was busy stacking firewood! Perfect timing because I needed wood anyway. She has $5 and $10 "bundles". I went for two $10 ones. I found my site just up the road easily enough (site 5) and pulled my Jeep in and admired the spacious spot. My goal for this solo trip was to try hammock camping. There are plenty of trees to choose from. The site was clean and the provided fire ring makes it convenient to move it to a better location if needed. This site is semi secluded as you can kinda see vehicles drive on the road. I did some exploring and found she has more remote sites that I would at least try with a SUV or better a yet a 4×4. There was a primitive toilet right across the road. It is a composting model complete with tree shavings you scoop in after you are finished. Amazingly clean and oder free. I would definitely return as it a 30 min drive for me.

Weekend Trip to Oak Grove Acres

Tom and MaryAnn were very friendly and helpful. Their property is beautiful and their camper has been very well maintained. We enjoyed the rural setting while still being close enough to get supplies as needed. One thing to be aware of, which is completely beyond their control, is how many ticks there are. My boyfriend and I both grew up in rural areas and are avid outdoors people but we were both surprised at the sheer quantity of ticks nearby. Campers should be vigilant about knowing what they look like as well as how to safely remove and kill them. Overall we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this spot to anyone wanting a convenient getaway to the country.

Kathleen was a great host—super friendly and made us feel welcome. The site was really well kept, flat and level with lots of space to spread out. There’s a nice little walk to a waterfall nearby, which was a great bonus. Firewood was available for a small fee, and the outhouse was clean and close by. Just a heads-up: the last mile or so is unpaved, so take it slow. Overall, a peaceful spot and a great stay!

Great spot for the price. Each campsite seemed pretty unique from one another. Only thing it was lacking was a table of some sort. Other than that, I’d highly recommend staying here.

We had a great stay. It was raining almost a one whole day but we really enjoyed our stay. It was our first time camping with our 1y/old and it was great. The camp ground was nice pretty level and Sunny (when it wasn’t raining). Site was clean and the fire pit with the grill top was a great touch! The waterfall walk was nice and they even had a kids trail along a little creek. We look forward to coming back soon :) Kate was super friendly and welcoming. Always willing to answer questions and very proactive to bring up key points about the property that will help us during our stay. Thanks again! Cheers!

Beautiful property! Kathy was warm, welcoming, and excited to share her 45 acres of land surrounded by protected watershed land. The sites were huge and peaceful and if I find myself in this area again I will be sure to book a spot here.

2 nights at Paradise Valley Homestead

This was our second stay at Paradise Valley. It's beautiful terrain--a New Jersey most people wouldn't imagine. Most of the surrounding property is protected watershed for the water supply of Newark. They even have watershed police! Kathleen is delightful and welcomed us, as well as giving us tips about the property and the area. She kindly allowed us to run a (very quiet) generator overnight to run my spouse's CPAP. Be warned that the last 1.5 miles of the road in is extremely rough and full of potholes, as well as narrow. Chances are you won't meet any other vehicles (and there are turn-offs) but be prepared for the bumps. With our 31' TT behind a crew-cab F-150 with tow package we inched along. The amusing part is that when we left Vermont for the south in December, this was our first stop. My fiancee booked it on her HipCamp app. Coming back, I booked it, but it was only when we were en route that I connected that we were going back to the campsite where our winter journey started. Cool: the circle, unbroken.

Weekend Trip to Luxury Camping at 'Higher Ground'

Evan and Laura's site was perfect. Everything you need is provided, both were very responsive to any questions we had, the bathroom and shower were way better than what we're used to at campsites and they offered suggestions for local hikes and a great butcher shop. The goats are pretty darn cute too. Highly recommend this site!

Always working on improvements! My second glamping site "The Medieval Encampment", is available for booking starting April 1st of 2025. I will have more pictures soon. In April of 2024, my long awaited 1st Glamping site was available for booking. It's been very popular! Please read the description carefully of the "Gypsy Rose Vardo", to see if it's the right fit for you. I also have 10 large camping sites available on our 33 acre property located in Northwest NJ. Sites 1 through 4 are on mowed, fairly level fields and are large enough for campers or RV's up to 30ft, or a couple of tents, and sites 5 and 6 are further back in the woods, available only for a few small tents, sites 7 through 10 are much further into the property and are only accessible with a high clearance AWD or 4WD SUV or you can park and hike your gear in. There are 3 compost toilet outhouses spread out through the property, so it's an easy walking distance from any site. Although we are only 2 1/2 miles from a main highway, the last 2 miles are on a dirt road with no houses. We are surrounded by protected land, so no neighbors and lots of wildlife, including the occasional bear, coyote or raccoon. Keep all food items secured. Because we are surrounded by protected land we are not sprayed for insects, so be safe and do tick checks often and bring the bug spray. We are 45 minutes from NYC or the Delaware Water Gap and an hour away from the NJ shore. There are horse farms nearby that offer trail rides. We are also close to the Highland and Appalachian Hiking trails. There are two reservoirs within a 20-minute drive for canoeing or kayaking. There are walking trails through our property, including a ten-minute hike on a marked trail to a small waterfall in a ravine.

Oak Grove Acres

Our 2 and a half acre property is situated in a very rural quiet area. The Wickecheoke creek, a tributary of the Delaware, runs through the property. There is a private seating area for serene enjoyment and private meditation. Eacj site has a small private firepit and picnic table. Plenty of wood is available - free again this season. There is a wooded site, an open site for self contained campers and tent campers and a large open grassy area, fun for children or dogs to recreate. How about camping in a Vintage Camper! We have on its own site a 1965 Trotwood, canned ham style camper. This cozy piece of the past is restored for nostalgic reflection. It has fine appointments, kitchenette, indoor private potty. She will sleep 4 comfortably. There are many parks, conservation reserves and nature trails to hike nearby. Your can bike along farm roads in the area and find places to have your picnic lunch. Forgot some supplies?- within 3 short miles are many shops, services and resturants, many deliver. Several varieties of wildlife are in the area: you will spot eagles, white tail deer, racoons, wild turkeys and red fox, to name a few, while you stroll, bike or drive throught the area. Stop at the many creeks and enjoy the vibrant sounds of the bubbling waters; fish, frogs , turtles, blue heron and the many critters who habitate the waters. For birders there are over 75 species of birds within a short walk. During changes of seasons you can often see many birds in flight migrating to far away places. Bring your binoculars and camera. For you shop and antique explorers, just a short drive to the Delaware River and its quaint villages only 10 miles away: Lambertville, New Hope and Frenchtown. Boutiques, art studios, antique shops and restaurants . Enjoy any one of the many local Brewers, Distileries and vineyards all within a short drive of historic Flemington.

Located 50 miles from midtown Manhattan (approx 1:08 minutes) is our brand new campsite located right off the Appalachian Trail. The camp is at the base of Wawayanda mountain right between the iconic hikes "Stairway to Heaven" and "Pochuck Boardwalk" on the Appalachian Trail. Hike right from camp up to "Pinwheel Vista" (named one of NJ's best viewpoints!) At the entrance to the property is the Valley Farmers Cooperative that sells local grass fed meats and artisanal farm goods. You can walk two minutes to Heaven Hill Farm which has plenty of goods, produce, and fun fall activities like pumpkin picking and haunted hayrides. Drive your car from route 94 directly to your campsite nestled in the woods with a great view of the valley. A perfect getaway from the city with plenty to offer. About 10 minutes down 94 is the beautiful town of Warwick or about 4 minutes in the opposite direction is the town of Vernon.
