Can't recommend this spot enough. Beautiful waterfall, super quiet and peaceful. It's super close to Watkins glen but it feels like it's hundreds of miles away from civilization when you're there. Ken is super professional too! Very attentive and available but gave us plenty of space to hang out amongst ourselves. I can't wait to come back.

We absoultey loved camping at Ken's property. The grounds are excelent and the waterfalls and creek are majestic! The campground is right near the center of town so nothing is ever too far away. Ken is a great host. Hands off but available to answer all of your questions and ready to help with whatever problems you may have. This place is defintely a 10 out of 10!

Lovely little cabin. The woodstove kept it plenty warm overnight with temps in the 40s, but you may want sleeping bags and warm clothes if it's colder at night. Beautiful view of the sunrise over the lake.

This was our fifth stay at this cozy cabin. It was snowy, beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing. The creek was flowing and all of nature‘s beauty was glistening. If you need to unwind, relax and escape, then this is the place to be! Don’t forget to buy some honey from the owners. We stocked up with 14 more jars because it is just that delicious! Can’t wait to come back!

New for 2024! The cabin in the woods has been resided, insulated, new roof, twin bunk beds, new door and new windows!

I enjoyed my winter camping trip. I highly recommend , I would come back again. When we arrived, they already had a warm fire going inside the cabin. The cabin was extremely clean. Especially for a rustic cabin. The night temperature was in the 20’s but we were very warm. As they provide dry well seasoned wood. Even the wood for the outside fire was really dry and warm as well. The queen sized bed was very comfortable and sleep really well. In the am we went for a walk on their land as there was a few marked trails. It was quiet and peaceful.

We had such a pleasant stay in the Artsy Bunker! It's an adorable small home with everything we needed, and then some. The location is great as well, close to everything, but with a nice remote feeling. And Robert is the perfect host. He communicated very clearly and quickly, and had little notes and booklets all around, so there was nothing to figure out on your own. He even turned on the heat before we got there so that it was nice and toasty, and then surprised us upon arrival with a piece of homemade pumpkin pie!

Was easy to find, wood stands near by to keep heated in the rainy weather i experienced and very close to Watkins and ithaca. It was beautiful the sleeping was comfortable, was perfect for a new years eve disconnecting and spending time in nature with my pup.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Bunkhouse. Robert and Amanda were lovely and helpful. The cabin is clean, cozy and comfortable. The location is perfect if you want to get away to the woods but still have access to downtown Ithaca. During the day we spent time visiting family on Cayuga lake and walking around Ithaca commons before returning to the Bunkhouse to cuddle up with cocoa and a good book in the evening. We were even treated to a slice of fresh cobbler one evening compliments of Robert! We really can’t say enough about this camp spot and the hosts and we hope to return in the spring/summer so we can explore the hiking opportunities and enjoy a nice fire outside. 10/10 would absolutely recommend!

Welcome to Hemlock Hollow! Located just 2 miles north of the historic village of Watkins Glen. It is also at the very start of the Finger Lakes Wine trail on the West side of stunning Seneca Lake! Rustic Art Studio Cottage

Learn more about this land: A step up from glamping, the "Shack" is a rustic, bohemian 2-story cabin/ art studio on a property that was formerly a train station. The property has 3 cottages on it and is situated across the street from Cayuga Lake in a secret wild garden, but is a 6 minute drive to downtown Ithaca Commons. This cottage is not for everyone. It is a cheap option in a cute, very bare bones cottage. It is best suited for low maintenance, easy travelers who are looking for an inexpensive place to crash after a long day of exploring. Guests who stay in the Shack share the bathroom in the main house with me - the bathroom has a separate entrance from the one I use in the main house. The cabin consists of 2 rooms - the upstairs has a double sized futon and a single futon mattress that can be used for guests, and the downstairs has a sleeper couch as well as a futon mattress that can be set up for extra guests. If you book the second room, it's an extra $30 per night. Note that the top room is accesses via a ladder. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but for the right fit it is the perfect home base to explore Ithaca's many spenders, ideally located across the street from Stewart Park and the trailhead to the Cayuga Waterfront Trail. and a short walk to the Stewart Park/downtown bus line and the East Shore swimming beach. Note, there is a cat who lives on the property and he sometimes comes to visit this studio. I see guests inviting him in occasionally to visit. If you're allergic, this isn't a good option for you.

This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. We have a primitive upper camp where you can also put tents for privacy. There’s a teepee with a wood base. The campfire has a grill, 2 homemade benches & an Adirondack chair. An orange hammock and also a picnic table. There’s a fun homemade swing & seesaw. We made many marked walking trails around our land to enjoy. There is access to well water. Dry cut Firewood is available for $7 a bundle in cash at the property or you can add extras with booking for $7.70 per bundle. Portable toilet outside, outdoor private shower. Come enjoy. It is very quiet. We are close to Treman, Buttermilk And Taughannock State Parks which all have swimming. Watkins Glen State Park and racetrack is half an hour away. Watkins Glen is breathtakingly magnificent. Also great cross country skiing, walking and hunting nearby at Connecticut Hill. There is downhill skiing at Greek Peak 45 minutes away if you are winter campers. We are 14 miles from Cornell University and 10 miles from Ithaca College. We are between two finger lakes, Cayuga and Seneca, there are 60 wineries and breweries around the lakes.Woman’s Rights National Museum in Seneca Falls, Corning Museum of Glass is fabulous. Ithaca has theatres, museums for art and lots to do for kids like a public pool on the lake.Or simply hang out and enjoy our ten private acres of forest. The bunkhouse is less than 2 miles to the center of Ithaca where there is plenty to do! including taking advantage of the new bike share program and waterfront trails. Definitely come hungry, Ithaca has more restaurants per capita than NYC and LA.!! Were also just 12 min across town to Cornell University and Ithaca College and 5-20 minutes from numerous amazing waterfalls. The available half bathroom is in the main house, just seconds from the cabin and is open to use 24 hrs. The heated bunkhouse has 2 twin mattresses in the loft, and several blankets and pillows, but you need to BRING YOUR OWN SHEETS and pillow CASES as you wish. Firewood is $5 per fire, starters materials included, marshmallows are in the end table drawer! There are roasting sticks near the cabin door and out by the far fire pit. You can select the campfire wood option here or pay in cash in the cabin. Feel free to bring your own fire wood and pay nothing to enjoy a campfire. if you need any help starting a fire, we can help. We have a sweet fluffy orange cat who roams the property. His name is kitty kitty :) He's fearful of dogs, and is wary of visitors since they might be harboring one! If you have a pup with you, please keep them leashed at least around the main house and cabin. We are also have a very sweet dog, Beya-- (pronounced Bay-yuh). She is the nicest person you'd hope to meet and although she may bark a little the first time you come in to use the bathroom she's just letting us know you have arrived- and will be very happy to have you greet her. She doesn't jump up, growl, or have any negative behavior with people --other than getting underfoot in the kitchen!. There isn't a shower included in the stay unless you are here for multiple days and have spoken with us about it...but you can definitely wash up with hot water and soap, in the half bath --hand towel provided. The cabin has air conditioning for summer use so no worries about being too warm to sleep well. During your stay you may encounter eagles, blue herons, coyotes, turtles, wild turkeys, foxes, the endangered bobolink bird (its unique call sounds a bit like R2D2), deer, great horned owls, and many unique plants. It's not uncommon to hear the coyotes howling at night. In addition to hiking trails with incredible views, there are four ponds on the property easily accessible with mown paths. One is very large with a dock and suitable for swimming, paddling, fishing, or just relaxing but the water. The other three are smaller and are now primarily wildlife habitat. easily accessible with mown paths If you're feeling adventurous, there is a more strenuous hike down into the creek bed where you can find miniature versions of the gorges and waterfalls that our region is known for. Campers unfamiliar with Trial are welcome to take advantage of a Lesson on one of our Rental Bikes, while the Obstacle Course is also super-fun on foot (for walks or runs), mountain bike, trials bicycle, or for playing with an RC rock climber. About the Trials Riding: We host 6 Mototrial events each season (see below) and if spectating appeals, you can plan your trip to coincide. Events are busy and exciting, but no worries (!) trials bikes are not loud. You're in for a treat if you've never seen these nimble motorcycles do their 'thing'... up, over, and around the obstacles. If spectating is not your thing- no worries either. Non-event days are very laid back. On any given day if Trials riders come (just to practice or instruction with Mike) it's not loud or invasive, nor interferes with any camper training or playing on the course. When riders are here (barring events), it is typically only 2-4 riders at a time. Multiple activities co-exist quite nicely here as there is plenty of room for all. There are many days no one is on the course, and you may have it all to yourself or possibly with another camper. Check-in time is totally flexible.
