1 night at Tryals Park Camp & Obstacle Course

My wife and I are on a 3 week trip with our dog. We intended on sleeping in a tent every night. This trip was to be as close to Nature as possible. Last night we just couldn't bear the thought of another 'wet tent' night and we landed here. So happy we did. The description is pretty spot on. It's a primitive shell that's been gussied up nicely. Was comfy and we loved that this more comfortable-and DRY departure from our tenting- didn't ruin our goal of being close to Nature-we still totally were. Morning was spectacular. Bird sounds greeted us. A Robin's nest (3 babies) above the toilet tent. Goose family -9-gently floating on the pond. Turtles climbing onto the raft after the storm. Bull Frogs serenading. Laurel showed us a small area (she had fenced in yesterday) on the hill below the barn- where she thought a painted turtle had laid her eggs. She also recounted a funny story of a handyman (in the past) who was found returning turtles to the pond- assuming they had lost their way. Imagine frustration for Mama turtle after that (well-intentioned misguided) good deed! And the faint scent of the Locust blossoms was "Just Lovely" according to my wife. Our off-leash four legged travel companion loved it too and my only regret is that we don't have more time to spend here. Hospitality and feeling of "make yourself at home" was high here. If "the right camper finds it heaven here" as per the description of the Barn...then we were the right campers. Highly recommend

Wonderful cabin to enjoy a few days or more away from the daily routine. Cabin is clean and spacious. Easy access to a bathroom in the main house. Two campfires rings on the property with one overlooking a pond. Very peaceful. Easy access to walking trails. Host was very friendly and easily accessible when we had questions.

Great location for waterfall chasers. Clean and close to amenities. If it rains go through the tree line from your car to the hiking trail which goes right to the tents. You’ll avoid mud.

My group and I loved camping at Camp Whitman in the cabins. The cabin was spacious and came equipped with space heaters in every room. These became a necessity because of the unpredictably cold weather while we were there. The property is near plenty of wineries and breweries and offers the ability walk down to the lake for a picturesque view. I would gladly recommend this camping locations to friends looking to camp around Seneca Lake.

3 nights at Seneca Lake Brewing/The Beerocracy

How many people can say they camped at a brewery! This was a unique camping experience that was so much fun. We stayed 3 nights, and even though we had patches of rainy weather, we stayed dry and warm in our tent..The view of Seneca lake was unmatched! I would absolutely recommend staying here if you are in the area for a few days. Shout out to Bradley for being a great host and being easily available when we needed him.

My husband and I shared the Walnut bunkhouse with our six grandchildren for the weekend. We had plenty of room and truly enjoyed our stay. The property is serene and super enjoyable located out or the way but close enough to shopping, wineries and hiking, to name just a few things. The space provided us the opportunity to each have our own bed, a covered porch for relaxing and a fire pit/wood to commune around. The notice was super reasonable and it was easy to find.

This spot is so awesome! Nice and cozy and so close to many of Ithaca's attractions. The cabin also has some cool art and dollhouses. Hoping to be back since it rained a good majority of our trip, but my dogs and I both enjoyed staying at the cabin regardless.Thanks for being such accommodating hosts!

The most amazing campsites and cabin. I think site 2 is the best campsite I've ever seen hands down. We stayed in the cabin it was fantastic greeted by white tail deer in the morning . Next to a creek.The waterfall must be seen in person photos don't do it justice.

Waterfall Creek

This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. Underhill Forest and Farm

Firewood is $5 per fire, starters materials included, marshmallows are in the end table drawer! You can select the campfire wood option here or pay in cash in the cabin. Bring your own fire wood and pay nothing. If you need any help starting a fire, we can do that. We have a sweet fluffy orange cat who roams the property. His name is kitty kitty :) He's fearful of dogs, and is wary of visitors since they might be harboring one! If you have a pup with you, please keep them leashed at least around the main house and cabin. We are also have a very sweet dog, Beya-- ( Bay-yuh). She is the nicest person you'd hope to meet. She may bark a little the first time you come in to use the bathroom but she's just letting us know you have arrived- and will be very happy to have you greet her. We have night lighting to turn on at your request, even if just to sit in the evening and enjoy the lights reflecting off the pond-We surely do! We are located on NY 38 but our traffic is low (Log and Milk Trucks, Farm Tractors and commuters). It is very peaceful here. Your camping can be as private, quiet and leisurely as you wish. The views and big sky are gorgeous in our corner of farm country. Our small pond provides entertainment w/ turtle sunbathing raft and lots of nature's visitors. (Canoe available) Pets are always welcome off-leash if you are comfortable. About the Trials Riding: We host 6 Mototrial events each season (see below) and if spectating appeals, you can plan your trip to coincide. You're in for a treat if you've never seen these nimble motorcycles do their 'thing'... up, over, and around the obstacles. Events are busy and exciting, but no worries (!) trials bikes are not loud and riders are friendly and considerate. If spectating is not your thing- no worries either. Non-event days are very laid back. On any given day if Trials riders come here (just to practice or instruction with Mike) it's not loud or invasive, nor interferes with any camper training or playing on the course. When riders are here (barring events), it is typically only 2-4 riders at a time. Multiple activities co-exist quite nicely here as there is plenty of room for all. There are many days no one is on the course at all (!) and you may have it all to yourself or possibly with another camper. Hope to see you in our slice of heaven! The 100 year old cabin sits only a few hundred yards from the Sierra Club section of the Finger Lakes Trail. The area is a peaceful spot for hiking, camping and snowshoeing or cross country skiing (October 1 bow season deer hunting begins, and mid-November to December is NYS gun deer season-which may not be as serene as you'd like). Perfect get-away for humans and their four-legged friends, it's a dog's dream vacation spot. Enjoy a week or weekend, or your vacation in a place where the "noise" is the melodious sounds of nature. It is remote enough to completely break from urban life, yet close enough to Ithaca, NY to enjoy its beauty and attractions. Amenities: outhouse, hand water pump, two-seater outhouse, propane grill, some pots and pans, grill utensils, wood stoves, private, gated entrance, pond, trails. Sleeping loft, no bed (you provide mattress/sleeping bag, etc.). There may be candles, toilet paper, bug spray (if left by previous guests). We are an LGBTQ-woman owned property, and welcome all campers regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, political views, religion, or culture of origin. Learn more about this land: A wonderful rustic, private, off-grid get-away, perfect for couples, families, and pups who enjoy camping (log cabin with wood furniture available, you may pitch your tent anywhere on the property - leave no trace). You may see some wildlife throughout the property (including a milk snake that lives in the cabin wall, but is harmless). It is a quiet, rural, farming area. Once at the cabin there are only two to three houses within a half mile (through the woods), so you will have a private space all your own. Winter camping is special - cozy wood heated cabin, hundreds of acres for snow shoeing, cross country skiing, or snowmobiling. Plan ahead, we do not plow the driveway in winter; plan to shovel an off-road parking space, and transport your gear up to the cabin (1100'). Wood is provided. Onsite: water pump, 2-seat outhouse, wood stove, campfire ring, wood, & propane grill. Exclusive access for nature hikes, streams, forest, pond, swimming, bird watching, star gazing, etc. A wheelchair that can navigate grass and some ruts can enter the cabin, but not the outhouse, and the sleeping loft is up stairs (there is room for a cot or mattress on the first floor); the porch is accessible through the cabin. When you book, you are confirming your understanding of the following: there is no electricity, running water, or std. bed/mattresses. You bring own air mattress, bedding, and gear you will need. All-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. We welcome special events, family reunions, or weddings, if your plans do not require utilities (you may bring a generator or other battery operated items, as needed). Note for winter guests: We do not plow the driveway in winter, you need to be ready to shovel an off-road parking spot, and transport gear to cabin (e.g. by sled, snowshoes) Here's a brief list of the basics to bring: Light source: Lantern propane or battery. Air mattress or cot and whatever bedding you need. Paper products (cups, plates, utensils, toilet paper, etc.) Matches/fire starter (there is wood on-site, and a propane grill for cooking that has a self-starter). Bug spray. Cooler and ice. Lawn chairs. There are a few tables, several chairs and benches. There are 2 picnic tables (one outside and one inside). The benches can be moved outside if you'd like, just move them back inside before you leave. The propane grill should only be used outside. There is a hand axe in the cabin to shave kindling, and the wood is already split to be the length for the wood stove, as needed. Gas: 5 miles away. If you plan to grocery shop when you get to the area, the closest store is at East Hill Plaza in Ithaca, about 9 miles past where the cabin is (I can give you all that info if you like). There is lots to explore/see/do in the Ithaca area if you decide to come down off the hill one of the days. I'll have some brochures and things in the cabin, and can answer questions (aka where is the best ice cream, dinner, etc.).

Rustic Log Cabins Overlooking Senec

When visiting the Seneca Lake area of the Finger Lakes region, nature lovers, race enthusiasts, wine and beer lovers, and vacationers alike will discover authentic charm in one of a kind log cabins. Originally built in the 1920's for early visitors, the Rustic Log Cabins are one of the oldest lodging establishments in the area. All four of our cabins have a great farmers porch on which to relax and enjoy your favorite local wine or beer and watch gorgeous sunsets over Seneca Lake. Afterwards sit by your own fire pit and enjoy a quiet and starry evening - a feature of cabin life that our guests tell us brings them back year after year. The cabins are situated on three beautiful park-like acres with plenty of room for games of all kinds. The view from the grounds takes in an apple orchard, rolling vineyards and Seneca Lake - a perfect setting for a small wedding or reunion if you rent all four cabins. Built of whole pine logs all four are spacious one-room cabins with electricity, hardwood floors and stone fireplaces. The cabins are equipped with table, chairs, comfortable beds, dressers, stove and fridge. Two of the cabins will accommodate three persons and the other two will accommodate up to 6 people. A Bath House in the center of the campsite is convenient to all four cabins and contains a separate mens and women section with showers, toilets and sinks. Guests are encouraged to provide their own towels and bed linens to avoid per bed linen fee. The Rustic Log Cabins are located on the east side of Seneca Lake on Route 414 in the town of Hector. We are central to the Finger Lakes National Forest, wineries & breweries, Watkins Glen State Park and also the towns of Corning, Geneva, Ithaca, Seneca Falls and Hammondsport NY. We are open May through October.

Hemlock Hollow Camp

Welcome to Hemlock Hollow! Located just 2 miles north of the historic village of Watkins Glen. It is also at the very start of the Finger Lakes Wine trail on the West side of stunning Seneca Lake! We have two cozy cabins available. Each one room cabin can accommodate up to four guests. Inside you will find a set of bunk beds, a fold out futon, a dresser and a corner table. Linens for the beds and towels are also provided. We rent the cabins separately or together as a package. Each large cabin site is equipped with a fire ring for hot dog roasting and s'more making! Fire wood is available for purchase. There is also a propane camp stove at each cabin and a percolator coffee pot. An 8 foot picnic table and two out door chairs with a small table on the porch are also included, perfect for that morning cup of coffee or afternoon glass of wine. We also supply a few frying pans and utensils for communal use. The property itself is very quiet and secluded with a creek that runs through. There is NO ELECTRICITY in the cabins or Bath House, but some solar lighting through out the cabins and Bath House.

Such topics can include gardening, fishing, animal husbandry, outdoor cooking, bird watching, using nature and animals to reduce stress, and many others. Our goal at Happy Pastures Campground is to have campers leave with a better understanding of agriculture and nature while gaining a greater appreciation for where their food comes from and the ecosystem it grows in.
