We absolutely loved our stay at the casitas! It’s perfect for a weekend getaway for kayakers, fishers, hikers and explorers.

Two cabins were completely clean, theres a great grill, fireplace and access to the lake/creek. Many great attractions nearby, and Susan was very responsive throughout the whole process. Spot was also easy to find, and there were plates/bowls, utensils and other tools on site.

Great location right on Cayuga Lake for a long weekend getaway! Beautiful and private setting, friendly and thoughtful host! We would absolutely visit again!
Las Casitas are comfortable, clean, and cozy - and literally steps to the water! Though we stayed for a few days in October when it was too chilly to go into the lake, this is an ideal spot to swim or drop in a kayak. Susan was a great host and checked in to make sure we had all that we needed! We brought our camping cooking gear to supplement what the cabin offers. Sitting by the Solo stove campfire at night was relaxing, and the porch is a perfect spot for morning coffee! The bed was so comfortable, and a small electric heater that was provided worked well to keep us warm when the temperature dipped lower overnight. Also, we had never used an incinerating toilet before - no issues, easy to use!
This spot is private (close to Susan’s cabin but separated by trees) and quiet, while also close to everything the area has to offer - specifically state parks with amazing waterfall hiking (Taughannock is a quick 5 minute drive south, while Buttermilk Falls and Treman are 15-20 minutes south), and cideries and wineries (don’t miss the incredible Finger Lakes Cider House, just 10 minutes north). Likewise, it’s just up the road from Trumansburg and about 15 minutes into Ithaca for more amenities.

This was the perfect little getaway for our weekend away! The Casitas had everything we needed and we were able to relax, enjoy the view and take in the nature around us.

Susans place is quite special in its natural beauty. She provides plenty of potable water and has a few pans and kitchen utensils but we brought our camping kitchen gear. Her main cabin is close by but the trees and vegetation between the casitas and her cabin provide enough separation to have it feel pretty private. She was gone for most of the long weekend we spent there but when she was at her house, the only way we really could tell is when we got to meet her dog who is super friendly. We're already contemplating a fall time trip to peep the leaves. Make sure to bring water shoes for the lake.

Susan has an amazing place here on Lake Cayuga! You literally walk out of the cabin, and you are steps from the lake. We were able to easily drop our kayaks in and paddle in and out. When we weren't on the water, the cabins are close to many wineries, as well as Ithaca, which had amazing restaurants. We enjoyed every minute, including moments when Cayo stopped by to visit us! We can't wait to come back again!

We loved every aspect of this stay and the location on the lake is unbeatable! Rustic but not too rustic, we had an amazing 4 days. There’s just too much to do and see in the area to get it all in! Morning greetings from Cayo the dog was just icing on the cake. We went kayaking, biking, hiking, wine tasting, out to dinner, cooked on site, swimming, and so much more in just 4 days! Not even a little rain slowed us down!

Beautiful, quiet, and relaxing. My wife and I enjoyed a weekend at the casitas. Swimming in the lake is easily accessible. The driveway is quite steep but we were fine with 2wd. All the basics and extra lovely details are provided. Hosts are welcoming and kind.

Susan has an absolute gem here. Visited for the day and night for my Girlfriend' bday and couldn't have asked for anything better, steps away from the water, the views, the absolute peace and tranquility was just what was needed. The Casitas were spotless, the beds were very comfortable. Loved making smores on the solo stove and breakfast the next morning. We have no complaints whatsoever and will be back, for sure. 11/10

The casitas at Tequila Sunrise were incredible. You couldn’t get closer to the lake and the privacy is unmatched. You get access to both casitas and Casita Dos includes a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker with filters, coffee, sugar and milk. Susan, Doug and their friendly golden retriever Cayo were exceptionally kind and inviting. The beach with its skipping stones was truly pristine. The solo stove was really convenient for roasting marshmallows as was the grill for cooking dinner. There was plenty of potable water and you can tell Susan takes great care in her thoughtful touches for her guests. Our 3 year old asked if we could stay forever :) we will certainly be back! Thank you so much.

This was our second time being at Susan's Hipcamp. Like last time, we had a great experience. The cabins were clean and had helpful amenities including a mini fridge and a small Coleman grill. The beach and lake access is great for kayaking and swimming. Would definitely recommend!!

We had a lovely time at Susan's cabin. Two comfortable cabins with queen bed in each.
Right on the water front of lake Cayuga, it makes it perfect for swimming or just taking it in. Make sure you bring cooking appliances and utensils, but plenty of little eateries around as well.

This place is a must stay. A unique place to lay your head when exploring the finger lakes. Right on the water. Every amenity you could need is there for you. Modern touches with a rustic outdoors feel!

The casitas were wonderful!! Susan was very welcoming with our family and was a great host. The property is beautiful and being able to access the water from the beach was great for swimming and kayaking. The location is very peaceful but close enough to access amenities in Trumansburg and Ithaca. Susan has a friendly golden retriever that my daughter loved playing with. Would definitely recommend this hipcamp location!!

Can't beat this location if you are looking to disconnect and relax. Perfect spot for fresh water swimming, porch rocking, sitting around a fire and taking in the beauty of nature. The cabins and bathroom were also both very clean upon arrival. It was a great retreat to return to after getting in some hiking.

Such a beautiful spot to unwind and relax! ❤️ We enjoyed hanging out on the porch, watching the sunrise, and taking a dip in the lake to cool off. We also loved visiting Taughannock Fall State Park, Gimme Coffee, and the Ithaca Farmer’s Market while we were in the area. Susan was a wonderful host and we plan on coming back again!

Our stay at Tequila Sunrise was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at ease. The cozy cabin was the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern amenities, with everything we needed to feel comfortable during our stay.
The natural beauty surrounding the cabins was simply breathtaking. We loved waking up to the sound of birds chirping and the gentle lapping of waves on the shore of Cayuga Lake. And speaking of the lake, it was a true highlight of our stay. The lake was also a nice spot for fishing, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to our stay.
But perhaps the best part of our stay was the hospitality of the host and their friendly golden retriever, Cayo. They made us feel like part of the family, and their warmth and kindness truly enhanced our experience at Tequila Sunrise.
Overall, we can't recommend Tequila Sunrise highly enough. Whether you're looking for adventure in the great outdoors or simply a place to relax and unwind, this is the perfect destination. We can't wait to come back!

Susan’s cabins were perfect for a weekend get away! Very relaxing setting, clean and had just about everything we needed. So many things to do within just a few miles - hiking, great food (try the Truffle Fries at the Thirsty Owl!!!), wineries and also being able to use the kayaks on site was a definite plus!! Susan was a great hostess - stayed in touch throughout our stay without being intrusive and very responsive when we needed anything. Highly recommend this location and will definitely be back!

I could not have asked for a more delightful place to stay. The Casita Dos cabin was absolutely charming and met all of our basic needs--a comfortable bed, heater, towels, kitchenette with frig and microwave, and a charming bathroom with an incinerating toilet (a new concept to me but very clean and easy to use). We were only there for one night but were able to swim in the lake, go kayaking (Susan generously lent us her kayaks), play with Cayo her adorable dog, and visit nearby Trumansburg for dinner, and enjoy the sunrise from the porch. The cabin is next to Susan's cottage and she was very friendly and accommodating but also allowed us our privacy. I wish we could have stayed longer. I sure hope we can visit again soon!

Susan was the greatest host! Her property is gorgeous. The Casitas were so perfect. They were beautifully decorated, fresh flowers out, the most comfortable bed! We woke to the sound of birds and waves. We wanted a quiet low key experience and were able to read on the porch, have a fire, go for a swim and even did a little swimming.we will definitely be back!
