Minglewood Camp is a place we built so people could escape from the hustle of our busy lives and find some peace in nature. The cabin was built with respect for the environment. We constructed it with locally harvested and milled lumber and approached the build with minimal impact on the surrounding forest. The cabin is off grid and uses a small solar panel which charges a battery for the water heater and a light. We utilize rain water for the shower and sink which collects in a large tank. The bathroom functions with simple composting toilet. (Woodchips in a bucket) The property is situated beside a creek and 90 acres of hardwood forest which campers are welcome to explore. the cabin is hidden about 3/4 of a mile off the road behind a small mobile home park and is completely secluded and campers will have total privacy.Our sweet little cabin is about a quarter mile into the forest and will offer total privacy. You can drive your vehicle right to the site.The cabin sits beside a little creek, which runs untill late summer depending on rain.  There are 90 acres of beautiful forest to explore. The stunning Finger lakes are only a short drive as well as the impressive Gorges that surround the area. You will find no shortage of natural beauty when you visit Minglewood camp.

Toilet available
Composting toilet. The Cabin has a composting toilet. This is essentially a container under a toilet seat. There is a large bin of wood chips next to it. After you use the toilet you pour a scoop of wood chips over your business. Before you check out, or if your toilet is full we ask that you dump it in the designated area and cover with straw or leaves this will eliminate odor and get the composting underway.
Pets allowed
Off leash. Pets are allowed as long as they are fully house trained and are not destructive. Dogs can be off leash in the woods but should be kept on leash if you walk down by road where there are residents.
Showers available
Hot water . Shower utilizes rain water that collects in a large clean tank. In an effort to maximize sanitation we ask that you bring your own blankets or sleeping bags. We will provide a clean fitted sheet for the 4 mattresses as well as 4 clean pillows and pillow cases.
Bins available
Compost bin, recycling bin, trash bin. It is a carry in carry out camp ground. We ask that you please take your garbage bag and recycling with you when you leave if at all possible . There is a dumpster down by the road you can use that if needed.
Cooking equipment present
Grill over firepit, private, stovetop or hot plate, cookware, cooking utensils, cutlery, sink or other dishwashing station. The cabin has 4 coffee cups, 4 plates, several drinking glasses, forks, spoons,knifes. Two cast iron frying pans, 1 sauce pan a tea kettle. 1 sharp knife.
No potable water
Bring your own water. We have a large rain collection barrel which will provide water for the shower and kitchen sink. We recommend bringing drinking water.
Picnic table absent
there is a table in the outdoor kitchen for eating as well as counter space for food prep.
No wifi

This was our second time staying and both trips have been great. The cabin is clean and nicely nestled away from any distractions. Sleeping to a river or the rainfall each night and being able to cook and spend our evening around the fire was incredible and we plan to return again in the future

We had a great time glamping at camp minglewood as a couple . Everything was as described. Perfect location for exploring the finger lakes region. Site was located behind a mobile home park, but it felt very private and secluded. The cabin was well designed, comfortable and you can drive right up to the doorsteps. Kitchen was well stocked but we didn’t use it. There is a hot water shower system and a kitchen faucet too which uses rain water collected in a big tank, but we brought our own portable shower system and used bottled spring water. Falling asleep to the gentle sounds of the creek and waking up to fresh air and greenery made the stay unforgettable.

This is our 3rd stay at Minglewood and it never disappoints. The cabin is always clean, cozy and warm with the wood stove. Ithaca, Watkins Glen and Taughannock State Park are all a short drive away. We will definitely be back!

What a great cabin! The inside had a wonderful hygge feel, and the wood stove is legit. Loved that the kitchen was outdoors, too. The best aspects were being able to let our dogs roam and explore as it was so peaceful and remote, yet a quick drive to our favorite FLX spots. Couldn't recommend Minglewood more highly!

Beautiful peaceful woods, cabin was amazing! My family already misses it. I LOVE the outdoor kitchen. That was my favorite part of the cabin. It rained so with the covered porch it was no big deal with cooking our meals. But also....what is more peaceful than listening to a good thunderstorm while you drift off to sleep? Love this place and Emma was super awesome as a host! Will make a trip back to this place in the future!

The Cabin was lovely and we really enjoyed the outdoor kitchen and the peaceful surroundings. The interior of the cabin is amazingly crafted and it was a very nice getaway for us and our two kids, who loved the creek!

The camp is beautiful. It feels private and remote but you're 7 minutes from restaurants and coffee shops. The creek is beautiful and offered endless exploration for our grandkids. The cabin was perfect.

Beautiful minimalistic cabin when I felt I could slow down and be in the present. Perfect place for a small group of friends. We enjoyed cooking in the outdoor kitchen, eating together, going on hikes, closeness to ithica, watching fireflies at night when the lights were off. Staying here made me realize how peaceful simple life can be.

This camp was everything it was advertised to be and it was awesome! Right on a beautiful little creek that was so peaceful to listen to as you went to sleep. It had everything you need though there wasn’t enough sun to charge the battery one of the days so bringing an extra lantern isn’t a bad idea. Road is a little narrow on the way in by totally drivable. Such a great little spot! A+++++

We loved Minglewood. The site was very clean upon arrival and had all of the basic necessities you would need. We loved the seclusion of it. The site is in very close proximity to the wineries on Seneca Lake.

Awesome little cabin next to a bubbling little creek. I was pleasantly surprised ability to drive right up to the camp site. The best pleasant surprise were three lights; one in the cabin one in kitchen area, and one in the toilet area. These made a huge difference.

One of our favorite camping spots. Love the outdoor kitchen, which provides a great hangout spot when it's raining. The quiet surroundings mean a great night's sleep. Will definitely stay here again.
