The cabin set in the middle of Bear Swamp State Forest is exactly what we were looking for a camping adventure during colder weather with a roof over our heads. Off the grid and roughing it is exactly what a person needs with friends or family once in a while. Thank you Cynthia for having us.

Amazing stay! Tranquil and secluded! We had an amazing time at the cabin. We had several walks down the road, nights by the fire, listening to nature. Highly recommend!!!

Had a great time at the camp, it was extremely quiet and pretty. Leafs were just changing colors and the sky was very clear. Would love to come back, the property is for sale and would buy in a heartbeat if I could.

Great spot to spend some time with few interruptions! Quite quiet most of the time, some neighbors with hunting cabins not within visible range. Got visited by a porcupine on the deck of the cabin one evening (all were unscathed!). Lovely birdwatching and many interesting insects to observe, wildflowers in bloom in August. The orientation of the cabin to the sun makes it a light space. No screens in the windows so timing when to air out the cabin to avoid bugs/bats is needed unless you have screen inserts. Seems like a lovely spot to stay in the winter, I may try to come back!

We loved our quiet weekend in the little cabin! It had many cooking essentials like spatulas, spoons, Blackstone Grill, a propane stove and pots and pans. Although we would recommend bringing your own propane. We were kindly left some but ran out the first night of our trip. The cabin was well maintained and tidy! The loft is cute and tiny, but we did not use it since we had our dogs with us. The fire-pit area was great and the area was beyond peaceful! The drive in was a bit rough due to all of the rain we've been getting and it caused some larger holes, but as long as you go slow it is fine. The turn for the cabin is easy to find since it has a "For sale" sign at it. We definetly recommend!

Cynthia place was what we were exactly looking for. The cabin was nestled inside Bear Swamp State Forest. It was simple but cozy. Will return again.

The cabin is clean and cozy. The setting is peaceful and very secluded. I spent a few nights alone (writing retreat) and then my wife came with our dogs and we all ran around and explored. It was cold outside, but the wood stove kept it warm inside. The small propane stove was nice for cooking. The outhouse is…well…an outhouse. The bed was comfortable.
Bring lots of wood if you plan to heat the cabin. (I wish the host offered a fee to raid their wood piles….i’d pay a premium to not haul my own :) The deck is large and there is a black stone there. Don’t pour stuff down the sink without looking to see where it drains! And don’t worry about the drive in too much. A bit of clearance is needed, but 4x4 is not (just go slow).

Beautiful cabin in the woods! Very well maintained and Cynthia was very kind and helpful. Great place for a small group. We brought some friends who had never been camping before so this was a great introduction.

Love the cabin! Definitely bring lots of lights if you aren't used to simple cabin livin'. It rained while we were there, Definitely take a 4WD!

Super private, lots of trails and creeks nearby great for hiking, biking and fishing. I love the wood stove!! And theres also a 3 burner propane stove with oven inside, and a blackstone griddle on the deck so cooking is not an issue! Also there is a generator so if you need to charge up phones etc you are good to go. The kids had a great time finding salamanders, frogs, and snakes, this place is really cute and cozy! We will be back!!! again!

The setting and cabin were great. Nice private location. Seasonal road provides great walking for dogs, but is bit bumpy for driving the approx. 2 miles. Blackstone grille was a nice amenity. Good parking at cabin. Loft sleeping area is nice, the access ladder is a bit steep and does not have a handrail. No defined campfire location but plenty of open area to pick from. Generator is a great feature but didn't use. Cell service is spotty so communicate with host before arriving. Tons a pretty Red Salamanders.

Had a wonderful retreet! I loved the woodstove and the burners inside for cooking. And I loved the Blackstone on the deck! Everything was perfect! Even the use of the generator too was really helpful. Super clean and quiet. I hope to come back with my kids or with some friends!

Loved this cabin. It was very comfortable and a good winter trip. The state park was beautiful with some snowfall and the cabin was cozy with the woodstove and readily available wood. Could easily sleep 6 with an air mattress. Mostly secluded although we did run into a one of the neighbors dogs while on a hike. Things to note is there are some pots pans and utensils there so they aren't needed for packing. Also the outhouse faces away from the cabin but doesn't have a door. I happened to like watching the natur in the meantime but I know some may not. Highly recommend as a camping trip, will consider going back.
