This gorgeous 24' Yurt includes electricity, excellent Wifi, cmfortable Queen beds (one mattress on a bed frame and one floor mattress), a refrigerator, and a pristine compost toilet. There is no running water but we provide water and one gallon of water for washing up in the bathroom Sit on our gorgeous rocking chairs on the deck and grill, and stargaze from bed through the dome in the ceiling. Please also note that thre are extra charges for more than 2 guests ($15/ person/ night), pets ($25/ stay), propane for heat (if needed- $2/ tank) propane for gas grill ($10) wood bundle for outdoor fire ($15). You can add these to your booking under 'Extras' Please read through all details below to help prepare you for your stay : ) Wifi We have excellent high-speed fiberoptic Wifi. Sound xpect to hear all the sounds of nature that you hear when sleeping in a tent. While the Yurt is insulated and stays warm, sound-wise it is like a tent rather than like a house, so expect to hear the sounds of the woods and the weather during your stay. Windows The screen windows close two different ways: to keep the Yurt insulated there is a velcroed thick plastic cover that is clear. To keep out light/ for added privacy you can roll down a solid canvas flap and zip them shut. Please note that both of these things need to happen from outside the Yurt, so you may want to set them how you want them before you turn in for the night. Please reset windows to how you found them when you leave. Bathroom Our compost toilet is lined with a compostable trash bag. Please scoop sawdust from the Periwinkle Milk Crate into the toilet after each use of the toilet. You should scoop enough sawdust to completely and generously cover everything in the toilet. When you end your trip and leave the Yurt, and/or when the toilet is 2/3 full, please tie shut the compostable bag and dump the bag into our compost. Every time you use the outdoor compost, please cover what you have disposed of with either leaves or the hay provided in the center bin. (If you are only staying for 1-2 nights and would prefer not to do this, that is totally fine! Just let us know you didn’t get a chance to bring it out.) There is a pitcher with water and wash bin for brushing teeth/ washing hands in the bathroom. You can empty the wash bin outside when finished using it. We also provide all-purpose soap. Heat The Yurt is well insulated and runs on a propane heater. Please note that propane is not included in your stay and each tank is $25; you can find them under add-ons. Each propane tank will comfortably heat the yurt a night as cold as 30-degree night up to 24hrs. Decide how many tanks you'd like depending how long you are staying or how cold you expect it to be. The Yurt will comfortabl heat freezing nights as well, it just will use propane more quickly. Water We provide a full Berkey full of filtered, clean water from our well with each visit. We also provide a pitcher of water in the bathroom for brushing teeth and washing hands and face. If you are staying longer than two nights, or if you expect for any reason to use more water than provided, we ask that you bring the additional water with you, keeping in mind it is a short (4-minute) hike from parking to the Yurt. In some cases with enough notice we may be able to provide additional water for your stay for an additional charge. Kitchenette We provide a Berkey full of filtered water, an electric kettle, a mini fridge and freezer, a microwave for use during your stay. We provide a gas Cuisinart Grill for use on the deck. If you plan to use the grill, please do a $10 mini-propane add-on so we can make sure there is fresh propane provided. We also provide cups, wine glasses, a French Press for coffee making, and compostable plates and bowls. Please do not put the plastic plates and mugs in the microwave. Please throw any compostable food into the compost bin or compost bag provided in the kitchenette and empty it into our large outdoor compost bin at the end of each day. Every time you use the outdoor compost, please cover what you have disposed of with either leaves or the hay provided in the center bin. Please never leave any food in the Yurt for more than one day that isn’t sealed in an airtight container. Please do not put meat or dairy products in the compost. If you bring meat or dairy products into the Yurt, we ask that you take any meat or diary trash out with you and dispose of it elsewhere. We have provided trash bags for this purpose. Please keep any meat and dairy products and trash in airtight sealed containers in the Yurt until you are able to dispose of them. Trash —-Please dispose of regular trash and recycling in our regular trash cans across from where you park. Walton automatically sorts recycling from trash so both can go in the same bins (we separate our recycling in a different bag just so the trash doesn’t contaminate it, but put it in the same bin as the trash.) —-Compost (fruit + veggie scraps, tea + coffee grounds, toilet bag) gets taken to outdoor compost bin on path to parking and covered with hay or leaves —-Meat + dairy stays sealed in an airtight container when in the Yurt and taken with you when you leave Rules 1) Please remove shoes as soon as you enter the Yurt 2) Please scoop sawdust anytime you use the toilet, and please take the toilet sawdust out to the compost bin once it is 2/3 of the way full or when you leave, whichever comes first. (If you are only staying 1-2 nights and prefer not to do this, that is fine, just please let us know you didn’t get a chance to bring out the toilet compost and our cleaner will take care of it.) 3) Please turn off all electricity, including all lights and heaters every time you leave the Yurt, especially when you end your trip. 4) Please never leave any food in the Yurt for more than one day that isn’t sealed in an airtight container. Please put any compostable food in the kitchen compost and take that compost out to the outdoor compost every couple days, covering the compost with leaves or hay once it is disposed of. Please take meat or diary trash with you when you leave. 5) Please do not put the plastic plates and mugs in the microwave. 6) Please wipe down the grill when finished use, make sure to turn off the gas when done, and please do not bring the grill inside the Yurt.

This property is part of an original hundred acre woods in the Adirondack Park overlooking Lincoln Pond. My grandfather moved an old ice house under the property in 1943 and built the existing camp in 1949. Her family lives in Florida and has continued to maintain and improve the old camp for the last 40 years. After having done selective logging two years ago we discovered a spot in the back of the property overlooking the pond and with the removal of a couple of trees have a beautiful view of Lincoln Pond. The deck with the Yurt is the beginning of an eventual cabin. I live in the main house from late May until late October and decided to share it with like minded nature loving folks. It’s a 1/2 mile hike from the parking lot with total privacy.Learn more about this land:Located on top of a hill on a 100 acre wildlife sanctuary overlooking Lincoln Pond and the Adirondack High Peaks. Situated on land that is right by the southern access road to Cherry Plain State Park with it's own private stream running through it.   Get away from it all and immerse yourself in nature. Learn more about this land:This is an off grid yurt. Think camping... with an outhouse and a stream for washing dishes but no running water or electricity. You'll have a comfy bed and futon. If it rains it's a welcome excuse to hang out in the yurt, not a ruined weekend. Staying inside, listening to the rain and playing games is a highlight of our trips there rather than a reason to reschedule. Rain on the yurt sounds incredible. Though cooking outside and enjoying a campfire & toasting marshmallows is also fun! The space The yurt sits on our 4 acres of woods right near the southern access road to Cherry Plain State Park. A stream runs through the middle of the property and you can see and hear it from the yurt. If you cross the stream the woods on the other side are on a hill and it's really fun to explore the boulders and woods over there with kids. There is a beautiful lake in the park with a playground and swimming beach. You can rent boats there, too. There are also showers and bathrooms there that you can use during the summer season. You can hike there... 2-3 miles (a lot uphill) over a kind of rough dirt road - while you can drive on that road you may want to drive the alternate 15 minute route around on paved roads if you don't have high clearance on your car. There is no cell service at the yurt but you can get a signal if you walk a few minutes up the road towards the park. 1) The yurt does not have electricity or running water. We have a small portable power supply that can charge phones and run a light. It'll get you through the weekend doing that sort of thing but can't run heavier appliances. There is a small bluetooth Bose speaker there that you can use to play music. And an acoustic guitar to make your own! 2)There is an outhouse with a composting toilet. We also have a small portable potty that can be used in the yurt (ideally for liquids only). We can provide you with a privacy tent for that, which you could put in the yurt if you like (let us know if you'd like that as we'd have to bring it out). You're also only an 8 minute drive from a Cumberland Farms with a nice bathroom. :) 3) We have a 2 burner camp stove that you can use out in the woodshed or in the yurt. We'll set it up in the shed for you but feel free to bring it inside if you don't want to go out to make coffee or tea in the morning. We have a small kettle and pour over coffee maker or Aeropress that can be used for making coffee. There is also a fire pit and we have cast iron cookware that you can use to cook over that. 4) We will provide you with a 5 gallon jug of water for the outdoor kitchen area. Dishes, etc. can be taken down and washed in the stream. We'll provide a sponge and environmentally friendly soap. Please don't use soap on the cast iron pans as it will remove their finish and rust them. 5) We can provide a cooler if you don't have one but there is not yet a refrigerator out there. We'll be getting one that runs off propane for the small kitchen we'll be installing inside the yurt but that and the wood stove won't be there until the fall. You'll need to pick up ice for your cooler. 6) In addition to the bed and the futon there is a folding card table and chairs and bunch of games. Let us know if there's anything in particular you like to play and we can try to provide it if we have it at home. Guest access The yurt has it's own private drive. Other things to note Because we're near the park and it is a nature lover's paradise, you do get a fair number of ATVs riding past the property. Their motors are loud. Sometimes they go by in the middle of the night. They are harmless and friendly in our experience but can wake you up if you or your kids aren't sound sleepers. It's not a constant stream of them or anything like that but you'll usually have a group go by a few times a day and like I said, sometimes in the middle of the night. There is no cell service at the yurt but you can get a signal if you walk a few minutes up the road towards the park.

The equivalent of four slow-burning logs and a few fire-starters will be provided complementary. Anything beyond that is $3/log. This is the only wood that can be used with this particular stove. No outside wood permitted. ********************** **There is also a basic outdoor fire pit with a grate for BBQing — for this you can make use of fallen limbs here and some of our personal stash. But we request grabbing a bundle at Stewart’s shop down the road too. ********************** 3) There are 3-4 beds. See photos. A) a firm sofa that you arrange into a Full-size bed or two Singles (or you can keep sofa setup as is). B) an extra long Twin futon that sits on a tatami mat. C) a firm foam air mattress that doesn’t deflate on you (Single). **There is also plenty of floor space with an available camping mat if that is preferred. Two full-size comforters, one twin comforter, and four pillows are provided. ********************** 4) There is an outhouse shower with hot water during the summer only. Depending on outside temperatures, it might also be available in the early fall and late spring, but this varies year to year. Liquid body soap and towels/washcloths are provided. Bring all other toiletries you need. There is a basic compost toilet year round with toilet paper provided. ********************** 5) Since the yurt is off-grid, you have access to a number of USB/battery-operated items like lanterns, fans, and a power station for charging your devices (both USB and AC plug capable). There are also cleaning items like a handheld vacuum or rug cleaner in case of a spill or mess. A carbon monoxide and smoke alarm, fire extinguisher, and gas leak detector are here. And there’s a first aid kit in the outhouse. ********************** 6) There is no wifi, but there is internet access with great LTE or 5G signal using Verizon carrier. Guests have reported that other carriers have worked too, with some variance in signal. But most folks come and try to unplug anyhow. ************************

Absolutely loved our stay at the yurt. Even with the rain and getting our truck stuck (thanks Darren for helping us out) in the mud the yurt is one of my fav places I’ve stayed at. Loved just relaxing, hearing the rain on the yurt, while listening to the doors. Occasionally jumping on the trampoline. Nothing compares to the yurt.

We had a great stay here. Very scenic and well maintained. Sam supplied a charcoal grill and portable stove, but we used our own so I cannot attest to their functionality! The space heater came in handy, as did the complimentary firewood when we ran out of our own! The mineral tub was a bonus as well. The downside- you’re not going to get the privacy you might expect at a campsite. There are cars coming by all hours of the day (even 1030 at night) and delivery trucks. Of course not a deal breaker but good to know!

Me and my wife stayed at Sam’s Glamping tent and it went phenomenal. The view was beautiful and the tent was super spacious, the entire vibe of the campsite was great. We felt welcomed and any issue we had was solved by our host. The campsite came with a lot of amenities that was nice to have like a propane cooktop, a cooktop for the fire pit, aswell as silverware and a pan, Another thing to note is the bathrooms and campsite in general was very well contained and clean. There is also a yeti cooler on site which is a very large cooler and was super helpful in keeping our food fresh and bugs out. The hot tub was large enough to comfortably fit 2 people and got super hot, the hot tub was also overlooking the waterfall. Sam was great, anytime any unexpected issue arose for us he went out of his way to help as much as he could, I would definitely recommend the camp site and and definitely the host he was a super down to earth guy. We had a great time and definitely will come back sometime soon. I rate the whole trip a 5/5 with everything involved.

Lakeside Campground was a great find just over the NY state border. Penny was there to welcome us in spite of our later arrival and kept the store open for us to pick up some items for our stay. The campground is well laid out, with spring plantings and personal touches throughout. Our yurt was located right on the lake & had its own dock to enjoy the spring peepers at night. Neat & tidy interior: creature comforts and a really comfy bed! Screened windows allow cool breezes in for an exceptional sleep. Hot water & good shower pressure in the shower house - we used the all-in-one on Huff ‘n Puff Ln. Bring a quarter with you: gets you 9 minutes of shower time. This campground is now on our list of travel sites when headed north!

The site was great! There a are few stores on the property, but you still feel secluded. The waterfall was all frozen over for our trip and looked amazing. You could still hear the water flowing under the ice and it created some nice background noise. The outhouses were very clean and only 50 or so feet away. Some of the pics on Hipcamp show the old bell tent with a wood stove, but that's been updated with a cabin tent and propane heater, which kept things plenty warm. There's also a 2 burner propane cooking stove. All in all an excellent experience.

2 nights at Glamping Tent Overlooking Waterfall
My husband and I decided to start the new year by escaping the hustle and bustle of city life, and our glamping experience was absolutely perfect. The setting was serene and beautiful—exactly what we needed to unwind and reconnect. We fell asleep each night to the soothing sound of a nearby waterfall, which was so calming and peaceful. We had a short but pleasant encounter with our host, Sam, who seemed like a very chill and laid-back person. He was communicative and responsive whenever we reached out, ensuring we had everything we needed for a smooth and enjoyable stay. The tent itself was cozy and comfortable, equipped with a propane heater that kept us warm despite the chilly air outside. We spent our evenings sitting by the fire, enjoying each other's company and stargazing under the clear night sky—an unforgettable experience. Everything about the trip was wonderful: the peaceful surroundings, the gorgeous nature, and the chance to simply relax. It was the perfect start to the new year, and we can’t wait to return for another peaceful escape. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a tranquil getaway in nature with just the right touch of comfort!

This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool. Our location is convenient to the Berkshire Mountains, state parks, hiking and other attractions, including Ramble Wild tree to tree adventures and Jiminy Peak. There are a few miles of rail trail access just down the road.

Much history here, with the small town of stone houses, making Hurley a national historic destination. This serene is secluded on a mountain surrounded by trees with seasonal views. The campsite is neighboring 105 acres of beautiful conservatory land available for hiking. No true trails are available, but you can be adventurous and hike further up the mountain, arriving to a clearing, providing you with a lovely mountainous view. From the mountain, you can hike to a waterfall or even hike across a lovely plain field surrounded by mountain ranges on both sides and crossing the creek over to Historic Stone houses in Hurley. Within a 10 minute drive check out some of the local restaurants like Alebrijes, Hickory BBQ & Smokehouse, and the Hurley Inn where the movie “Tootsie” was filmed!. Hurley Marbletown Trailhead and Rail trail parking are only a 6 minute drive away! The town of Kingston is about 15 minutes from our site where you will find Bluestone Wild Forest, antique shops, restaurants, other outdoor activities! The nights are just spectacular as you look into the sky surrounded by a blanket of stars, able to see the many constellations looking like jewels on a black cloth. The sounds of nature and all of it's distinct calls including that of eagles, is truly an experience. And we cannot forget our other friendly neighbors, the wild turkeys and deer!
