STAYING IN A MOUNTAIN FAIRYTALE
25 ft travel trailer · Group trip · We just got back from an unforgettable 3-day camping trip at the Old Corral site on Debbie’s magical property, and we’re already talking about when we can come back.
The Old Corral spot had perfect shade and easily fit our 27-foot camper. While it’s not the most private site on the property, it is tucked away just enough and not directly next to any other campers, so it still felt peaceful and quiet. The mountain scenery was stunning, and the energy of the land was incredibly grounding.
Debbie and Walt were absolutely lovely — they stopped by to welcome us, made sure we were settled in, and even gave me a tour of the property. Their warmth and hospitality made the experience feel personal and special.
What truly made the stay feel like a fairytale were the animals — beautiful baby horses, goats, alpacas, and llamas gently wandering the land. It was magical to wake up to them grazing nearby. We hiked the property’s trails, stargazed at night, and fully soaked in the stillness.
Wellington Lake was less than 15 minutes away, which made it super convenient for fishing and kayaking. One of our sons caught a rainbow trout — a core memory for sure! Our two goldendoodles loved roaming and exploring. We kept them on long leashes when animals were around, but otherwise they had the freedom to enjoy the open space too.
This spot is a true gem — quiet, soul-filling, and a perfect escape for families who want to disconnect and recharge in nature. Thank you Debbie and Walt!
