We began this venture in 2012 by purchasing 35 acres overlooking a 7000 acre homestead. We are located on the beautiful eastern plains of Colorado southeast of Denver. Rolling hills dotted with Ponderosa pines that encourage wildlife to settle in. Pikes Peak, Longs Peak and Mount Evans all visible on clear days. We have 35 acres and raise alpaca’s, chickens, cats and dogs as well as a large garden. We are totally off grid and enjoy life in the home my husband built using trees he cut down and milled on his sawmill. We lived on the property in a 400sq ft cottage while building the house and this cottage is now available to rent. Water is available outside and the outhouse is just a few steps away. It is a one room cabin (sleeps 2) with an incredible picture window that frames Pikes Peak beautifully. It is nestle among some old Ponderosa Pines; sports a cute but tiny wood burning stove; bar table in front of the window; deck with seating and a propane camp chef 2 burner stove. A hammock is available for use and private outhouse just a few feet away. Across the gulley is the new Sawmill Cabin built under the canopy of Jim's sawmill. It is small, and can sleep 3 with a unique bunk over a queen sized platform bed. A small deck, fire pit all under a covered open space. More kids? Bring a tent! there’s room! Numerous tent sites are available all within easy walking to your car. An outhouse is close by. We love sharing our story and our home and the beautiful place God has gifted us with people from all over the world and hope to host you as well. Come Camp; and relax. Watch and listen to the birds, deer and antelope really do play here two little fawns were chasing each other through the gully just this morning. We pulled in late, and Andy was there to meet us and help us find the site in the dark. The site was clean, quiet, and level. We were there for a short time before an early flight in the morning, so we didn’t use the amenities, but it had a table and chairs, outhouse, and access to water. Great spot for anyone looking for a place to stay near the airport.

Weekend Trip to Harmony Ridge Farm

We stayed in the treehouse last night to watch the Geminid meteor shower, and it was absolutely perfect. We specifically chose this spot after looking on the Dark Sky Map for a location within an hour of Denver that had very low light pollution and the 360° view of the sky did not disappoint. The large picture window in the treehouse was the hook so our little kids were able to stay warm inside while still having a great view of the meteor shower. The hosts were incredibly sweet and had everything warm and ready for us when we arrived. The treehouse was well stocked with everything we needed to cook dinner, and there was a great space for the kids to do crafts and play board games we brought along. In the morning, we got to spend time with the alpacas, who were so friendly—even with our 3-year-old running around and petting them nonstop. That was a huge highlight for everyone. We will absolutely keep this place on our list for all future astronomical events and can’t wait to come back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just got back from an incredible stay at this A-Frame, and I can’t say enough good things about it. From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful, clean, and thoughtfully put together. The cabin itself is cozy, beautifully designed, and perfectly set up for a relaxing getaway, which is exactly what you want when you escape into the outdoors. But what truly made the trip stand out was the host, Stephanie. She was absolutely amazing. Her communication was quick and friendly, she gave clear directions, and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests’ experience. The location was perfect for a quiet weekend of camping vibes mixed with cabin comfort. Whether we were relaxing on the deck, enjoying the view, or winding down inside after a day of exploring, it all felt like the ideal getaway. Highly recommend staying here! We’ll definitely be back!

We took advantage of late season warm weather and spent 2 nights at Rockridge. It did turn windy and cool but we enjoyed the solitude. Gorgeous view of Pikes Peak. I was able to walk my dog all over Carol’s horse pasture. Note that the 3 campsites are fairly close together. Google maps took us right to Carols land - campsites are marked by short pink flags on the left side of her driveway once you have entered the property.

The a frame was the perfect place to reset after a long day driving across country! The view of the stars and twinkling lights below was perfection! Nice to unplugged and watch the moon roll across the sky. I’ll definitely stop again when I’m in the area! Very cute and cozy!

Jamie is very gracious, knowledgeable and kind. This location is right next to the Paint Mines and a great place to say after your hike. The location is very quiet and great for star and moon gazing. This site also sits adjacent to a wind(mill) farm which is a great unique landscape. Very nice, safe place to stay!

Weekend Trip to Sunrise Campsites

We had an amazing time staying at the cabin. The cabin was well stocked with propane and water, and the power station looked very nice too! The cabin itself is very cute, comfortable, has a fantastic view, and definitely feels private and secluded from the rest of the grounds. Stephanie was extremely responsive and eager to help, and was able to secure a sturdy ladder for us to get to the bed mere minutes after the request. The cabin definitely still has some construction items remaining, but is more than finished enough to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Overall my girlfriend and I had a wonderful time and will most definitely be coming back next year!!

Secluded! Cool view on the distant horizon that was about a five minute walk away, and at night looking East over the blinking lights of hundreds (thousands?) of windmills. Not many places you will see this! Dark sky was also good as the Milky Way was directly overhead. Antelope also were around.

My family and I loved camping at Stephanie's Sunrise Campsite. We chose Site 1 from the reviews and it didn't disappoint. It was private and had spectacular views. The bathroom facility was clean and was thoughtfully stocked. We even had a surprise visitor in the morning, a majestic buck exploring. We would love to come back again in the spring.
