Depending on the season, explore hiking trails, horseback riding, fishing, snow sledding and other outdoor adventures. You'll also find wild berries and other native plants growing throughout the property.
The Bunkhouse
After a day outside, head back to our community Bunkhouse and campfire area, open daily from 10 AM–10 PM. Pull up a bench, meet other campers and stay awhile. Please note: Pets are welcome at campsites but are not permitted at the Bunkhouse due to working guard dogs and livestock.

We offer a parking spot at night to have a quick safe place to stay. We do not allow the camper to stay multiple continuous days without leaving as you must leave during the day time, but are welcome to return at night.
---We sometimes have Buses leaving or returning to our facility late at night, so just know you might hear a large bus pulling in late at night.
---PLEASE DO NOT block our Iron Gate with the H on it, or stick out into the entrance of the facility. If you stick out too far, you need to park North to South , which is parallel to the wood fence with the customer parking signs on it. You can block the handicap signs also if needed. The cottage is located on 4 acres, with orange flags marking the property lines. Our cabin is built near the camp site. The tiny cabin has a propane heater to make this a beautiful and cozy experience.
It is a quiet and peaceful place located 25 minutes from Cripple Creek (if you like gambling) , and 45 minutes from Woodland Park where you can find restaurants, supermarkets, rock and gem shops and more attractions typical to a tourist town.
A place to find peace, and nature with lots of wildlife, you may get a glimpse of a bear, mountain lion, fox, wild turkeys, deer, cayote. Enjoy the outdoor fireplace (weather permitting), watching a beautiful night sky, in a clear sky you can spot the Milky way and some star constellations.
The place is surrounded by many tourist attractions. Gambling, hiking, biking, fishing, Florissant fossil beds with giant tree stumps, horseback riding, waterfalls, wolf and wildlife sanctuary, balloon rides, mining museums, our majestic Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge bridge, Rio Grande train rides and more! If you like to shoot arrows bring your bow! Asha's retreat is located 5 minutes away from a BLM a beautiful place to enjoy a nice walk!
The terrain is rocky, we highly recommend keeping your eyes on your small kids as well as when they are in the lofts, for security reasons.
Reiki healing sessions are available upon request as well as Reiki training by a Certified Reiki Master.
Smoking is permitted outside when not under a fire ban.
Hipcampers under 21 years old are welcome only under adult supervision.
We recommend bringing your own towels and a flashlight since our lodging has an out side toilet. Please don't expect a flush toilet, we want to emphasize that we offer a porta potty.
We are charging a very small cleaning fee, expecting our guests to leave the place as they found it.

We have almost 40 acres of beautiful land that is scattered trees in a field and more forested areas. We also have mountain views depending on where you stay! We are right next door to the Pineries Open Space which is a 9 mile trail that you can hike, bike, or horse ride on. It also connects (by crossing a road) to Section 16 which is another 4 mile trail. You can bring your own horses and for a $50 fee we will set up corral panels for your horses to stay. We have farm animals that will be wondering about the land at times. We have water up at our home that you can use to fill up your campers with water or any water containers you need to fill. The park, that you would have a gate to walk through that connects to our property, has a vault toilet. At certain times we offer farm experiences at additional charges. There is a small corner store a couple of miles away, a local feed store where you can buy hay for tour horses, a little local coffee shop and small cafe as well. Come enjoy the country life just minutes from town!
Because we also use our land to graze our animals, we ask that only one vehicle be parked at the site at a time. We have a place for parking additional vehicles if you have more than 1 vehicle.

LOVED this location. Very close to the city but also with a good feeling my of being remote. There is a house up the hill which made us feel safe but as a FYI there is enough bush/tree coverage that your site is still super private. Host was nice and was responsive within 10 minutes when we had a question, and help us resolve it quickly! Couldn’t be more happy with the night we stayed there and we will 100% stay again. Also for those who care you have a BEAUTIFUL distant view of Colorado Springs at night, but still dark enough to see the stars.

Can not thank our hosts Tina and David enough, they’ve thought of everything! The bunkhouse is cozy and has excellent comfort amenities. It’s clean and has everything you could need. Our dogs were comfortable and we loved the dog run and patio! The views are amazing, so grateful to our hosts for sharing their property with us and for their hospitality. It feels quite secluded even though you are only about 5 minutes from grocery stores, gas stations etc. If you pull in to the loop for your spot counter clockwise, your door will face to the forest. Others had mentioned problems with the black dump. I didn't have an issue and it seems like the slant is towards the drain, so my tank fully emptied.

Great value! Close to town but felt very far away. Beautiful view of the mountains behind you, awesome view of the city in front of you. Good cell reception too (I have Verizon). You’re within earshot of the house next door, but I still felt secluded. This will be one of my go-tos when I’m in the area.

Beautiful rustic park like setting. Dan was the most kindest, accommodating, hospitable, host. We felt like family by the time we left. Could not have found a better place to camp. Would definitely go back. Cool cat named Fluffy also running around. Dan is an animal whisperer, many deer and wild life coming through the property daily. We loved

We enjoyed the set up and accommodations at the blueberry site, the wood burning hot tub, the creek, the open campground. Daniel, the ranch hand, was very kind and helpful. The one downside was that it is right next to the road, which was a bit noisy times through out the night.

We enjoyed our stay. Everything was super clean, accommodations for our pet (bowls, crate) were a nice touch. The kids loved getting to walk the goats and meet puppies! Nice quiet time for the family, yet close to the springs to get out, and such wonderful hosts. Thank you for everything - we will definitely be back!

We loved staying here! It was very pretty and the host was super kind. They supplied us with firewood and we stayed by the fire for most of the night under these very cute string lights they put up. There’s plenty of space for privacy but close enough to town that if you need anything, it’s no big deal to make a run. Would definitely stay here again!

About
Just outside busy Colorado Springs, Cheyenne Mountain State Park offers 28 miles of hiking and biking trails—many of which are dog or equestrian-friendly—along with a smattering of picnic areas, a campground, and a nearby archery range. The campground here is divided into distinct loops, many of which—including Gobbler Grove, Raptor Glen, and Swift Puma Heights offer full hook-up sites with water, sewer, and electric. For something quieter, the Meadow Walk-In Loop offers four tucked-away sites with picnic benches. There's also a camper services building with coin-operated showers, a laundry room, an activity room, and an adjacent playground.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- You can reserve one of the campground’s 61 tent and RV sites through the Colorado Parks and Wildlife online reservation system or over the phone.
- Reservations can be made up to six months in advance. Same-day reservations are also available, but not in person.
- Only one camping unit is allowed per site, so multiple tents require multiple reservations.
- There are plenty of alternatives for camping in the area, including RV sites, private campgrounds, and Hipcamps, if the Cheyenne Mountain campground is full.
When to go
The most popular time to visit Cheyenne Mountain State Park is between Memorial Day and Labor Day, when the weather is at its warmest. However, the park can get crowded this time of year, particularly on weekends, and the risk of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms is at its highest in July and August. September tends to be drier here, with fewer crowds once local kids are back in school. Most campsites and facilities are closed during the winter months (mid-October through mid-April).
Know before you go
- Cheyenne Mountain State Park is situated just west of Fountain, Colorado, and about a 15-minute drive from Colorado Springs. Both areas offer plenty of options for picking up supplies and groceries.
- All campers are required to have both a camping reservation and a separate Colorado State Parks Annual Pass or a Daily Pass.
- Food and cookware must be stored in bear-proof containers or in your vehicle.
- Dogs are welcome at all of the campsites as long as they are kept on a six-foot leash. Pets are also allowed on select trails, but never in the backcountry areas.
