The site is in a cool location, but our campsite had no level ground for our tents, and there was a lot of road noise which made sleeping uncomfortable.

I loved Angela’s spot! So serene by the creek and feels super secluded even though it’s pretty close to Colorado Springs. Having the fire pit during the fire burn was a major plus, made our stay so much more fun!

Sleeping Giant

great site next to the spring with plenty of space. site didn’t get muddy despite the rain which was nice. very private and well kept. we definitely overpacked and will cut down on the gear next time since there is a bit of a hike in with some incline so it took us several trips from the car to the site. I can’t compliment the staff enough. Everyone was very welcoming and willing to help us with anything we needed. We will continue to come back and look forward to trying out the other sites.

Aksel Fig

Askel Fig is an absolutely beautiful campsite and has been a wonderful place for Pay It Fur-Ward and the people and pets we support. The creek is peaceful and refreshing, and the deeper area nearby is perfect for wading and cooling off on hot summer days. Angela and her team are always incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming. Their compassion and willingness to support both people and animals truly stand out. We are so grateful for the care they put into the property and the way they treat everyone who stays there. Askel Fig is a special place, and we highly recommend it.

Check in was a breeze, Danny was extremely helpful and wakes the site with us. This was close to Colorado Springs but far enough that you were deep in nature. Lots of trails to hike, the running creek gave great ambiance too. Everyone had about one bar of reception and could make calls of needed. So peaceful and quiet too!

I absolutely loved staying at Yakalo SW Dispersed Site. It was everything I was hoping for, beautiful, peaceful, clean, and incredibly quiet. The scenery is gorgeous, and it was the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature without feeling crowded. I enjoyed it so much that I actually extended my stay because I just wasn’t ready to leave. Every day made me appreciate the area even more. If you’re looking for a serene, well-kept dispersed camping spot where you can truly disconnect and enjoy the outdoors, I can’t recommend this place enough. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Really wonderful spot! You do need to hike in your gear but we still managed with two preschooler and it was so worth it! Host and team are helpful and responsive. Bring a hammock the trees are perfect!

Pipeline Campsite

We absolutely loved this site. By far the nicest campsite I've ever been at. The Pipeline campsite was a walk-in site (about a 2 minute walk) and was right along a flowing creek. A campfire pit and firewood were provided and it was fairly secluded enough from neighboring campsites. The ranchhands were very friendly/helpful and there is a barnhouse with some additional amenities as well. We will definitely be staying here again if we are ever back in the area!

Incredible experience!

This place was absolutely incredible, the true camping experience I have been waiting to have for years, bathing in the creek of the mountains, and being immersed in Gods nature! Angela has done an incredible job with the place, she was very accommodating to anything we needed. We booked a campsite that ended up not being what we wanted for that specific trip when we got there , so she switched us to a spot that was more tailored to our needs. She was very kind, thoughtful and considerate with everything we needed and the spot was breath taking.

Mountain camping without isolation

It was a great start to a long adventure. Great hosts - extremely friendly. Drink spring water and relax all day. Definitely better in fall or winter time I am sure but still a great time in the woods without being isolated. And the cheyenne mountain trails are crazy cool.

I can’t say enough good things about Yakalo Ranch’s Fallen Tree campsite. The site itself was absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly well maintained. One of my favorite parts was the creek running nearby. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of flowing water 24/7 was nothing short of heavenly and made for one of the most relaxing camping experiences I’ve ever had. What was originally supposed to be a much shorter stay turned into nearly a month because I just didn’t want to leave. I found myself extending my trip multiple times simply because I loved being there so much. My dogs absolutely loved it as well and had an amazing time exploring and enjoying the outdoors. This is actually the second campsite I’ve stayed at on Yakalo Ranch, and once again it exceeded my expectations. Angela and her staff are some of the kindest, most attentive people you’ll meet. They genuinely care about their guests and work hard to make sure everyone has a great experience. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape surrounded by nature, I highly recommend Yakalo Ranch. The beautiful scenery, relaxing atmosphere, and wonderful people make it a place you’ll want to come back to again and again.

I recently stayed at Yakalo Ranch Pipeline Camp and absolutely loved it. The site is beautiful, quiet, and incredibly peaceful. There’s a gorgeous creek running right by the tent site that made the whole experience feel relaxing and secluded. The camp is about 7 miles up the mountain, so it feels far enough away to really disconnect and enjoy nature, while still being accessible. My dogs had the absolute time of their lives exploring, splashing around, and enjoying all the open space. It was the perfect spot to unwind, recharge, and just enjoy the outdoors for a while. We’ll definitely be back.

The owner was amazingly accommodating and switched us to blueberry camp which was very accessible! We will definitely be making a tradition of returning to yakalo! Just make sure you have 4 wheel drive and get there while it’s light out, the drive is a bit scary when people are speeding down the mountain. She also has water filters to drink the fresh underground spring water! 10/10 camping experience

We had a wonderful time at the camp site ! The area was clean, quit, and well maintained. The creek near the camp site was very relaxing, we slept like hibernating bears. Angela responded quickly to our questions and made us feel welcome. I highly recommend this camp site. The site was a little slanted.

We really enjoyed our time here! There are two separate areas at the site, each with a fire ring a spot for a tent. We fit our large 8-person tent on one side so we could use the other for food, fire, and sitting. Shade was great, and the spot was private. It unfortunately rained for most of the time, but we got to visit a cantina up the road to get out for a bit.

Really cool and beautiful spot, tucked back into the woods and the little stream running was such a beautiful background and our doggie loved drinking from it. I slept so well with that sound! One con, space is all on a pitch, our tent was at an angle. I don’t see how 8 people could fit in this spot.

Sweet lil spot for a quick trip

It was a great spot for our get away. It was quiet and a pretty sweet spot for the whole family. The creek was great to play and rock hound in for kiddos. We enjoys a few nights hikes so my eldest kiddo could look for bigfoot. The spot was very spacious it allowed for our good size tent. The host was great and easy to deal with. Definitely will be booking another trip.
