The open-air, covered Kitchens have sinks, fresh, potable hot water, kitchenware, gas stove —pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc, BBQ with side burner, critter-resistant food safe, bear-proof trash can, and picnic table outside. We provide a convenient propane campfire for safety since our climate is dry and often windy. No candles or open flames please. Limited WIFI available.
There are easy trails on property along the lush stream (the original riverbed of the Middle Saint Vrain Stream), fishing or swimming in the pond (no lifeguard on duty), or challenging trails into Roosevelt National Forest from the property. (Ask Hiker Dot for guidance.) Several National Forest access points, where you can enjoy peaceful walks away from crowds, are a short drive.
New this year Bliss Camp is adding a 12' x 14' Glamping Tent Cabin.
Bliss Canyon is a spur off of breathtaking, picturesque South Saint Vrain Canyon. Stroll on over to the South or Middle for renowned fly fishing. For climbers, there are over 50 climbs in South Saint Vrain Canyon!
Dark Skies:
If you like to watch the stars and meteor showers, Bliss Canyon is blessed with dark skies with little light from the plains. Bring your telescopes and explore the Universe.
Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the five Crown Jewels of the National Park Service, is nearby. The closest trailhead in RMNP is 10 miles, the next trailhead at Wild Basin entrance to the park is 13 miles, and the Beaver Meadows entrance (main entrance) is 36 miles. Rocky Mountain National Park has breathtaking drives, easy strolls with interpretive signs, and 360 miles of trails. (Advance reservation required for entry 9:00 am to 3:00 pm for main park, or 5:00 am to 6:00 pm for Bear Lake corridor.)
Indian Peaks Wilderness also has several nearby access points and trailheads. Ask Dot for details.
The charming town of Lyons is 20 minutes away with coffee shops, restaurants, bars, lots of great live music, and quaint shops. Also, Spirit Hound Distillery received the award for the #1, Best Whiskey in the World in 2022, hmmm, it might be worth a tasting!
Due to our popularity reservations often fill up quickly. We suggest you make your reservations in advance especially if you have a group to rent the entire camp. At times there are last minute cancelations which allows for last minute openings.

Overnight, Seasonal, and Extended Stay Camping, we are open year-round. We have 30/50amp sites (shade and partial shade) around our lake, 20 amp in the "upper campground," and dry camping (full facilities) on the Arkansas River with Gold Medal fishing with access for all campers for fishing and floating. Many of our sites are great for star-gazing, watching meteors, looking for fireflies, and seeing the birds zip on by.
We are conveniently located on Hwy 50, in Bighorn Sheep Canyon, and have all sorts of rental options for your outdoor adventure needs. Whether you want to pitch a tent, try out the glamping experience, enjoy the convenience of an RV, or rent one of our fully equipped RVs, we have the perfect spot for you.
We have four entrances marked by sail flags into the campground, two by the lake, one near the bathhouse, and one by the post office (on our property). The map of the Arkansas River has our campground listed!
Adventure awaits with home to the highest mountain peaks in Colorado and the river and 102 miles of Trout Gold Medal Water. There is access to white water rafting, guided fishing, and fishing lessons. There are at least 5 hot springs within 60 miles of Twin Bridges Campground. Salida is considered the white-water rafting capitol of the US by some and has a whitewater park and surfing wave. Salida area is also home to a ton of hiking (14'ers anyone?) and mountain biking trails. The Royal Gorge is a quick 30 minute drive with restaurants and other fun near Canon City. The Sand Dunes are 90 minutes and Monarch Ski Area is 45, we have some of the best bird watching! Warbling Vireo, Western Wood-peewee, Cassin's Kingbird to name a few.

The Rabbit Hole Ranch offers beautiful night skies with little to no light pollution and unobstructed views of the majestic Blanca Massif. The Great Sand Dunes and Zapata Falls is just a (gorgeous) 35 minute drive.
Camping here at the Rabbit Hole Ranch is primitive and dispersed (no numbered sites) and there 30 acres available for you to use. Just follow the signs to the designated area and pick out a spot you like.
Some spots have fire rings, some don’t. We are working on getting more, but in the meantime you’re welcome to bring your own. Or feel free to dig out a little hole. It works great and is easy to extinguish when you fill it back in and bury it. Please do not bury any trash.
Typically, you will experience a rare kind of solitude and silence that feels…. other-worldly, with incredible sunrises and sunsets filling the enormous skies.
On holidays, however, expect it to be busy.
Our only dog, Boudicca, is a working dog and she is more than happy to help keep you and your pets safe. Please help make her job easier by not leaving any food or trash in or around tents. Her name is Boudicca (BOO duh kuh) and she lost her two besties last year, so she needs extra love and treats!
Please keep your pets on leash or under control until you’re comfortably certain they get along with our dog. And please report any issues promptly.
Quiet time begins at 10:00 pm.
Note: Holidays still offer the excellent location and spectacular views, but are likely to be less quiet and far more busy. We typically do not strictly enforce quiet time during holidays.

The Ute Lodge was homesteaded in the 1930’s by Joe Fox who after leaving the military came west to settle in the White River valley.
Joe was known for his friendliness, hospitality and wild stories.
Today you might find much of the same. From Joe’s day to today it is a place where families come together to get away.
The Ute Lodge is now owned by Karl and Mona Maser who celebrated 20 years of ownership summer of 2019!
All summer our cabins are filled with guests from all over the US as well as international travelers. One of our favorite things about the summer is our weekly potlucks where we all share an outdoor meal. All of our visitors have a standing invitation to join us around the community campfire at night.
From our beautiful private lake (where you can paddle-board, kayak and fish), to immediate access to the Papoose and Crooks Park Trails on National Forest land, as well as the vast variety of wildlife that roams around, you can find what you need here to unplug and get away from it all.

Gondola Village at Holy Cross is a little sanctuary in the mountains between Aspen, Vail, and Leadville, Colorado. There is little else in the area except for the next door Holy Cross Wilderness, with a lifetime worth of trails, lakes, and peaks to explore -- all accessed from a trailhead only two plus hours from Denver. Gondola Village at Holy Cross has direct access that many only dream of to Colorado's water wilderness, and some of the best backcountry skiing, hiking, scrambling, backpacking, and fly fishing in the Vail / Eagle County / Leadville / Aspen area.
Our modern alpine cabins (Alpine Gondola Lodge and Lost Gondola Lodge) are some of the cutest cabins you've seen, complete with a mix of amenities (think Coleman stove, Miir mugs, Rumpl blankets, Goal Zero Yeti, Metolius couch, a guitar, Dometic cooler, Sea to Summit shower, and more) to make your wilderness stay a bit more comfortable. Don’t forget your camera, and a good book (or read one from our large library while you’re up here).
Gondola Village at Holy Cross is at almost 12,000 feet above sea level (believed to be one of the highest altitude Hipcamps in the world). Gondola Village at Holy Cross has been featured on Discovery Channel’s Reclaimed, Airbnb's OMG! Fund, Arch Digest, numerous other publications and brand product shoots. The managers of this property have worked in modular construction (cabins, yurts, and homes) and hospitality for many years and have brought together some of the best Scandinavian and modern mountain design with a mining town aesthetic. With such challenging access (larger items can only come in via helicopter), each piece of furniture and amenity is carefully chosen.
The trip up can be challenging (only off-road, winch / locker equipped vehicles dare try the 759 Holy Cross City jeep road, others will need to hike in at least 2.5 miles), but the views and cabins are well worth the trek. For successful navigation without reliable cell service, a map app like onX is recommended. Snow free season tends to be June 15 an October 30 annually, and outside of this guests should be prepared for up to 11 miles of over-snow travel with no cars allowed (a bit less depending on snow coverage in the shoulder seasons from May 21 - early June and late October - November 21).

After traveling the US in our motorhome for almost 5 years my husband Scott and I know the value of a smiling face and a helping hand after a day (or week) of travel. Exploring and experiencing this amazing country, its diversity and incredible people enhanced our lives in so many ways.
In mid 2017 we found out our first grandchild was on the way. Long story short we parked the RV and parked ourselves here in Paonia, CO. In December of that year, we moved onto this amazing property full time and started the long list of fix ups (the list is still long). lol
We are blessed to have our two adult sons and (aforementioned) grandson living on this property with us. Our philosophy is to live in the moment as the present is the gift. Whether enjoying a sunrise or a sunset or anytime in between you’ll likely find us outside most days.
In that, we love all that nature has to offer including fresh fruits and veggies, animals, beauty and fragrances.
Sage View Ranch is being created with the desire to have people experience the natural rustic beauty and magic of Paonia.

Love sleeping the the tipi and waking up to the sounds of the animals starting their day. Check in/out is super easy (we came in late from a concert and it was no problem to find the farm or the tipi). The bed was comfy (we brought all our bedding) and the bathroom was clean with hot water. It's our second stay and we hope to stay again.

We came for weekend away and found a perfect slice of tranquil heaven. Looking to dip your toes into the experience of camping without all hassles of camping and having every single item? Look no further, this is the place. We hiked in the RMNP, read, laughed and experienced the great outdoors while giggling over s'mores and making memories at the campfire. Our favorite amenities were the fantastic outdoor kitchen and hot shower, and Dot is the perfect host. We’ll be back!!!

Weekend Trip to Rocky Mountain Glamping
Dot and Byron were friendly hosts who thought of everything we needed for the ultimate glamping experience. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had full sets of dishes / utensils, and the solar lights made it easy to walk around at night. The camp is nestled on the mountainside and surrounded by trees. Lyons is a short drive away if you forget a staple. Kids and adults enjoyed the plastic hatchet toss game. We had a minor issue and the hosts came over right away to resolve it. It will be hard to go back to regular camping after this experience. We will definitely return.

This was a lovely spot to relax and enjoy some time together. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Dot and Byron and chatting with them. The bed was very comfortable and the shared kitchen, fire pit, and hot shower were lovely. We particularly enjoyed the screened in room we used in the evenings to unwind after busy hiking days.

We had a great time on our trip we went to the Sand Dunes, Zapata Falls, and Colorado Gators! We ended up in a spot close to the house where I’m guessing the poultry is because we were greeted by both dogs throughout our trip and they were so sweet with my two kiddos! I will say if you have kids that don’t sleep well I’d recommend setting up farther from the house because they were barking quite a bit through the night(that is their job and I am grateful they were keeping predators away plus my kids sleep through everything). Also it can get decent gusts of wind so I’d definitely keep that in mind! We will definitely be back!

The site is well maintained and convenient with the propane connections for the grill and fire pit being a great amenity.
The views are spectacular and if you’re up for some walking around, just a bit further up the road are some beautiful meadows and more great views.
If you have 4x4 then I’d definitely recommend taking a driving excursion even higher up the road towards Mount Bross for an awesome walking trail to and ancient and gorgeous stand of gnarled Bristlecone pines just below the timberline. Drive further for some bumpy fun towards the summit and more spectacular views!
As for seclusion, it’s definitely remote BUT the road to the summit passes directly by the camp site so you will be close enough to greet anyone driving or hiking up that way.
The area is called “windy ridge” so don’t be surprised when you learn why.
We saw lots of wildlife in and around the campsite which was delightful. And the mining history in the area is really neat to see and learn about.

With stunning Mountain Views and the most iconic feel of being alone in a desert terrain, this was a cool camp site for sure! Laid back, easy to find and navigate, and perfect for what we needed as we passed through the region.

4 nights at Rocky Mountain Glamping
We had such a wonderfully relaxing time at Bliss Camp. It was exactly the experience we were hoping for! A secluded spot in the mountains, with amenities available so we didn’t have to stress or pack too much. The campsite was so beautiful, we spent a lot of our trip just enjoying the nature around us, without needing to go anywhere. Dot and Byron are super friendly and helpful, and very responsive to questions. When we mentioned getting low on water they brought more to us within a few minutes. We also brought our dog with us and they were so sweet to him, and he played with their dog too. I would absolutely glamp at Bliss Camp again!

Campsite was beautiful and well taken care of! Gorgeous views and accessible. Some campsites are smaller than others so get there early to have your pick! But there are plenty. The dog is super sweet and loves to hangout in the shade of your campsite during the day.

It was fantastic. 20 minutes outside of north Boulder. So convenient and you truly feel like you are IN the woods. It was clean. The creek was so peaceful for sleeping/naps throughout the day.
We will be back.

Weekend Trip to Mountain Goat Lodge Tipis
What a magical place! Just the right mix of amenities and nature that made this feel like such a relaxing vacation, and plenty of options for how you stay which is also cool (the full bed and breakfast they run is impressive)! We stayed in one of the tipis and loved every minute of our 3 night Memorial Day weekend stay, and plan to come back in the fall to try out one of the camper options! The farm animal residents are all so cute, the views on the property are spectacular in every direction, and all the lodging sites are nicely spread out and feel private despite being within a close proximity to each other. The bathroom was very clean and we loved the option to order breakfast baskets the day before for mornings when we didn’t feel like cooking!

Off a beautiful scenic dirt road in the forest valley. Very thoughtful campground and clear the owner has gone through much trouble and time to make it a cozy campers destination with access to a sink, outdoor space, and showers. It is fun just to explore around the site or relax by the babbling creek… Incredible host who is attentive to making sure you have what you need and highly recommend!
