We had a great time staying on Meghan’s land. We rolled in late for our stay, but had no trouble with the clear instructions she provided.
The yurt is truly a treat, coming stocked with camping stove supplies so we were able to cook some light meals. I also really enjoyed the wood-burning stove to keep warm.
We also treated ourselves to some camel milk fudge and camel yarn.
We stopped here for our trip to Great Sand Dunes, and Meghan recommended we stopped at Sand Dunes Recreation hot springs in Hooper nearby. It was just what we needed! Incredible place for a desert getaway.

We loved Matt’s land, animals, and yurt! The yurt was very comfortable and cozy. Also, my kids really loved playing with the animals! They were really tame. Matt had the best hospitality and was very friendly! I would 100% recommend this to someone and come back again. Thank you Matt!

Camels and a Yurt
What a special and unique experience this was! We arrived after dark, and the off GPS directions were excellent and easy to follow. My son and I kicked off a ten day road trip with our first stay here, and even though very cold outside, the yurt was cozy and warm. The bed is very comfy, and there are thoughtful touches throughout the yurt including a kettle for the wood stove, handmade soaps, games, and a French press just to name a few. Meghan and Liam gave us a great farm tour where we got to meet the donkeys and camels, and see the frozen creek. Would definitely book again.

SUCH AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE! The hosts, Matt and his son Liam were so helpful and gave us a great tour. With the weather being kid of cold and rainy, the yurt was warm, comfy, and cozy; and it was very peaceful hearing the rain hit the roof at night. The camels and donkeys are clearly very well taken care of and SUPER SWEET! I would love to come back and stay here longer, and I would recommend this to anyone that loves the outdoors 1000000X over and over again!!!!!

We had such a fantastic stay at Matt and Meghan’s. Where to begin? The property is down a long stretch of country road but the pay off at the end is an incredible special property with gorgeous views in every direction. Matt provided very clear directions and we found our way there with no problem. They were very communicative and flexible on meeting us even though we pushed back our arrival several hours.
Matt, Meghan and Liam greeted us and introduced us to the animals of the farm. And WOW they are so incredible. The camels were friendly and inquisitive and the donkeys were very sweet.
Matt took us on a tour of the property and we were in awe not only of it, but of his background and life experience and his wonderful relationship with his son. Liam was an excellent co-host and showed us lots of wonderful nature we would have otherwise missed.
The yurt was centrally located, well appointed, clean and comfortable. I have zero complaints.
This was by far my favorite Hipcamp stay yet and I cannot wait to come back.

We loved our time so much! The yurt was cozy, comfortable, clean and well-equipped. The amazing animals and gorgeous landscape made for a wonderful time. We got to meet Megan and she gave us a great tour! The hosts were kind, responsive and helpful. Thank you for a super visit!

Meagan and Matt were fantastic hosts, and the yurt itself was tidy and welcoming! We had a great time on the farm seeing all of the animals (especially the camels), and the sand dunes which are nearby and well worth the drive! Instructions to the yurt were easy to follow and very helpful. Definitely check this place out!

I spent the weekend Glamping in a yurt on a Camel and Donkey Farm. It was so much more than I expected. The camels and donkeys were so friendly and lovable. The yurt was camel themed and even had camel milk soap. You can order camel milk fudge, farm fresh eggs, and hand spun yarn. It was cozy and had a wood burning stove. We roasted some marshmallows, sipped some hot tea, and watched some shooting stars. Matt gave us a tour of the farm and was so knowledgeable about the area. He showed us the edible berries on his property and we tried a couple different kinds. This was absolutely the weekend getaway that I needed. What a great experience!

Our stay at the yurt was so enjoyable. The quiet countryside and the very informative meet and greet with the camels and donkeys all exceeded expectations. The property is beautiful and feels tucked away a bit by the hillside. Meghan was such a warm and welcoming host and seemed so at peace living here and so excited to give us info about their lifestyle and history with the animals and homesteading. Plus we got to feed the animals watermelon!

Matt and Meghan provided easy-to-follow directions to the location from town. The yurt is clean, warm and well-stocked with blankets, pillows, and some glamping extras like a Coleman stove, cast-iron pan, French press, coffee, mugs, and some paper towels. We really appreciated Matt spending time to talk about the farm, the area, and introduce us to the animals. Highly recommend! Love what they're doing here.

This place exudes a sense of mystic! Within the first half hour after arriving, there was a deep sense of peace and silence, removed from any daily routine.
The farm animals are super sweet. We enjoyed Matt's tour of the property and the deep connection and respect he has of the nature.
We got a kick out the old birthing home ruins, that are still on the property from a previous old midwife owner.
And-the outhouse doesn't smell !
Matt was super helpful with making sure it's warm at all times and we got local eggs and fudge and camel milk, make sure you buy all the extra treats!
Just follow the exact directions that Matt gives you, and just be prepared for a long dirt bumpy road-it's worth it!

Beautiful escape in a cozy yurt. Matt and his son were so welcoming and we loved meeting the camels and donkeys. Our two-year-old daughter had a great time. We would definitely recommend a stay here, especially for families with children!

Meghan and Matt were extremely friendly when we arrived and loved the tour to meet the Camel's and Donkeys.. I recommend 100%. We worried about staying in 90degree weather but inside the yurt was at least 10degrees less than outdoors. The night sky was also amazing as it's a dark sky location.

Such an amazing experience! Loved watching the camels and donkeys enjoying their best life. Beautiful land, with an amazing stream, stunning sunsets and the cutest yurt ever! Yurt has lots of necessities and extras! Had an amazing time and learned so much from Matt who made sure we had everything we needed and is extremely knowledgeable about camels. What amazing creatures, I never knew how truly amazing they really are!

We really enjoyed the yurt and the location very close to public lands. The donkeys, cats and camels were all so sweet. The yurt was cozy even on a really chilly 20 degree night in April!
