Near Great Sand Dunes National Park
Within a 60-minute drive from the Entrance Station.
The Rabbit Hole Ranch offers beautiful unobstructed views of the majestic Blanca Massif and the Great Sand Dunes and is just a (gorgeous) 35 minute drive from both to include Zapata Falls. The Great Sand Dunes National Park is a must-see, and I am grateful for the opportunity to offer you a place nearby to set up camp and go exploring. Alamosa, the largest town in the SLV, is just 20 minutes away. With a population of around 9,800 Alamosa has that small town feel and has the goods and services you will need. Camping here at the Rabbit Hole Ranch is primitive and dispersed (no numbered sites) and there 30 acres available for you to use. Typically, you will experience a rare kind of solitude and silence that feels…. other-worldly, with incredible sunrises and sunsets filling the enormous skies. On holidays, however, expect it to be busy. Our two Great Pyrenees are here to help keep you and your pets (and our chickens) safe. Please help make their jobs easier by not leaving any food or trash in or around tents. Please keep your pets on leash or under control until you’re comfortably certain they get along with all three of our dogs. This year we have a new Great Pyrenees to greet you, his name is TheoVon and he is huge! Returning this season is KayLee also a GP and and Finn, who is a little Benji lookin rescue from Alaska who just LOVES everyone. :) Quiet time begins at 10:00 pm. Note: Holidays still offer the excellent location and spectacular views, but are likely to be less quiet and far more busy. We do not strictly enforce quiet time during holidays.

Rabbit Hole Ranch
Amazing place and an amazing host!
Such an awesome experience. The area is beautiful and peaceful. It was so quiet I thought I had lost my hearing for a few minutes. Jen was a responsive and amazing host. She made sure the trip was hassle and stress free. Also as an added bonus their 2 Great Pyranees and a little wire haired terrier patrolled the area and after the first day they adopted me. I would have them hanging out with me by the campfire and at night they would make their rounds and come back by to check on my RV. Theo, Kaylee and Finn were an absolute bonus and made the trip even better. It was also amazing to walk just over a small hill by the campsite and about 10 miles away the sand dunes were easily visible in from of stunning mountain vistas. I will be back again before winter for sure. If you need a place to get away from the craziness of the world around you. This is your place! Thank you again Jen!

A steal near the dunes
Absolutely gorgeous night skies, friendly dogs and a very kind and generous host for a fantastic price. Feels and looks remote while actually being within a relatively convenient distance from Alamosa if you really need anything. The primitive feel is great and it's dead quiet. If you're here for stargazing (and you should be) do bear in mind there is a little visible light pollution in the direction of Alamosa but it's a small part of the sky compared to the absolute sea of stars you'll be bathing in all night. Felt safe under the watch of their three dogs and slept great. Will come back!

Better directions and signage would be a tremendous help to first timers. Dogs barked until 3 AM. Roosters wake up call at crack of dawn. Cool spot but bring earplugs.

Wonderful!
Stunning view of the area! Highly recommend. Ranch dogs do bark throughout the night, so bring earplugs if that bothers you.

This was a beautiful site! Jen answered all my questions before we came and the instructions were clear and helped us get there without any problems. Definitely follow her instructions and not navigation apps. The porta potty was clean and having the sink there was nice. The ranch pups were adorable and hung out with us for a while! My dog loved them too. There’s lots of land so you won’t hear any neighbors and feel like you have the whole place to yourself! Highly recommend!
