We LOVED camping here in our roof-top tent. Since we arrived after dark we stuck to the main dirt road and pulled off into open space toward the end of it to sleep. We came early April - it was a perfect breezy night. Convenient to I25 but we never heard any road noise. For directions we followed Google Maps along with the host’s detailed written directions. Had no problem at all. And if we did I’m sure we could have reached out to the host. He is super responsive. Thank you for allowing us to camp on your land!

The sprawling property had amazing views and the privacy was spectacular! Hummingbird Ranch was a great place for early spring when mountains to the west are still filled with snow and muddy.

The camping was great!
Beautiful meadow is spread across the camping’s view.
There aren’t much shaded areas, so it’s recommended to get some shade solution.
It’s very easy to find the way to the camping as written in the instructions.

It was okay. Not the most beautiful and there’s zero shade. We were disappointed that we couldn’t find the stream or creek that was in many of the photos.
Loads of privacy though, and the mountains as a backdrop was pretty amazing.

We had the best time camping at Hummingbird Ranch! As mentioned in previous reviews the location was convenient, the paths on the property were pretty well maintained (and not too bumpy) and the property was beautiful! We camped at "the sweet spot" and loved it. There is a porta-potty by the entrance of the property and a set of shower stalls (which did not work). We would definitely come back!

Site is comfortable for privacy and incredible views. Like all barren lands, the ground is not super tent friendly but definitely doable in many spaces. Overall, awesome experience and breath taking views.

The place itself was nice but it was quite unclrear where we could park and put up our tent so we felt a bit unsure. Also, the vault toilet hasn't been emptied for quite some time so it was a bit gross... No water at all was available (maybe this was in the description and I didn't see but it's generally nice to have some water available to wash hands or so).

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. While there were a few other campers, there’s plenty of room to spread out so you can still feel like you’re in quiet solitude. We enjoyed just chilling in the beautiful meadow, overlooking awesome views of the Spanish Peaks, and driving nearby (45 min) to Bishop’s castle. And, we saw the namesake hummingbirds — in fact they divebombed our camper door at one point. 😂 Road is good, even after some pretty decent rain, and we did fine in our 30ft 5th wheel.

We brought our 35 ft school bus here! The roads were a little bumpy for her, but nothing taking it slow couldn’t fix! We were at Hummingbird Ranch early May and it was BEAUTIFUL, private, and lots of open space to walk around and explore. We got a surprise bit of snow, and the ground got soggy, but after a few hours of sun, it cleared up enough that we were able to get out without a problem. Highly recommend! Thank you, Hummingbird Ranch for a beautiful stay!

I use camps when I travel for work. So I often come in late and leave early. I know that’s not everyone’s setup. That said, I couldn’t figure out where I was supposed to camp easily. The front sign was destroyed and I was not 100% sure it was the right property. I was restless worrying about whether I was camped legally and I was really wind exposed. I imagine if you camp like a normal person then it’s fine. This review is more for people who do what I do when camping.

Couldn’t locate the portable toilet & it seemed like a far walk from it anyway, depending on where you set up camp. So we didn’t use it…. However, everything else was okay. Host didn’t seem to mind that we came & then left & then came back. (We forgot something at the store, so had to drive to town)
We came across this sign called “sweet spot” when we were looking for a spot & it definitely wasn’t a bad area to camp! Very quiet & got to see a dear family. 👌🏼 also, beware of cacti! 🌵

We absolutely loved camping at Hummingbird Ranch. Our dog Lilah was in heaven with all of the endless places to walk and explore! we camped at the sweet spot and could not have been happier with our experience. We will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Hummingbird Ranch was secluded, but easy to find! Dirt roads allow easy access to camp sites and the views face both mountain and plain. Would recommend to anyone looking to get away for a weekend.

Hummingbird Ranch was as described........far enough from I-25 to leave it and the noise behind but close enough to not be inconvenient. The land has great views to both the eastern prairies and southern mountains. Very quiet and large enough to feel like we weren't camping with others. Thanks for a quiet and restful stay!

Dozens of acres and nobody else there. The dog had a blast chasing birds rabbits and deer. Highly recommended however not a whole lot of shade.
