Hilltop Camping
The isolated camping on the hilltop was quiet, cool temps with a little wind, and great views of the mountains. Only visitors were a few cows traveling to the meadow in the valley below before dark. Easy to get to and Mike responded quickly when we had questions.

Michael’s site is perfectly situated and the views driving into the site are just stunning. From our perspective, it’s Michael himself that is the real gem of this rental. He was awesome to deal with: timely, communicative, empathetic, and down right friendly!

The campsite was amazing. Very isolated and quiet. The huge fire pit was the main attraction at night. Large area to explore and is great for pets. Highly recommended.

Sheep Mountain camping
Our camping experience at Sheep Mountain was awesome! We loved how remote it was and the amount of space we had. There was plenty to explore and the views were beautiful. The campsite was clean and well set up. We would definitely go back!

Very private and peaceful. The cooler weather was such a relief and the breeze was welcoming. Perfect for dogs and kids to run around and great views for a stroll. I found it easy to find. Hard to get lost navigating around. The cows were charming and didn't mind passing threw here and there without a care in the world. There is some equipment to help campers out like an axe, shovel, leveling post thing, and a few cooking essentials etc very thoughtful.

This is a very cool spot. Super secluded and well maintained. There are multiple spots to camp and multiple fire pits (for when there are no fire bans). We really enjoyed it though we got a winter storm and woke up to a foot and a half of snow with it still coming down. I plan to book it again with several other friends so we can really enjoy it.

Great stay!
It was really great! The views were beautiful, especially at sunset, and the campground was tucked away in the trees. You are kinda on top of a hill so it gets windy, but that could have been more because of the time of year (mid November). I’m definitely going to recommend this spot to my friends for a bigger gathering as the spot can accommodate a larger group.

Rugged beauty
Beautiful views, secluded, and lots of space for a larger group. The fire pit was nice, as was the abundance of firewood. Had a little trouble finding it and the road up to the property is a bear for anything other than a high clearance vehicle. Instructions were very helpful.

A great place to get away!
I live in Denver and I am not used to towing a trailer. That being said, we pulled a 5x8 uhaul trailer up to this place using trail 1 with no problems. We did have a 4x4 expedition and encountered some rocks, ruts, inclines, etc., but nothing too hairy if you go slow and be intentional about where your tires are :)
No one is around ... which is awesome! But I did get a 1 bar cell connection (Verizon) from the campsite which would be good for calling for help. Not good enough to send texts or photos.
There are some great views and the fire pit is really nice. We found plenty of dead wood on the property to burn, but if you need the fire to stay warm, that is a lot of work dragging and cutting as it burns quick! Next time I will bring some good logs and supplement with the deadwood.
There is a nice spot back up in the trees where we pitched a 9x18 extended dome tent and plenty of other places to pull a camper or pitch a tent.
The only thing I would say that people should prepare for is the weather. That area is known for wind (windmills on the interstate east of the property). We had highs in the mid 50s, lows in the high 10s ... the temp seemed to swing multiple times throughout the day and winds were constant 10mph+ with gusts up to about 30mph.
Be prepared, dress in layers, bring the proper gear and it is an amazing place!

Seclusion was top priority!
We live in the country so when we go camping we sure don’t want any neighbors- this place was perfect! Beautiful pines, great views, and good location to drive to explore other places if you desire to. We brought firewood but it really wasn’t necessary- it is plentiful laying through the woods. We left no trace so others can enjoy the nature!

A single beautiful camp spot!
This was our first Hipcamp experience and I want to say it was awful and keep this great place a secret, but I won’t, it is amazing! It was quiet, tucked away, and beautiful! We enjoyed watching the distant evening electrical storms, stargazing without light pollution, and listening to the coyotes at night and the cows in the morning. It was nice to get away from people and the city. Follow the directions as written and you will have no issue, even after dark (as we did). We did fine traversing the terrain with a Toyota 4Runner pulling a 18ft camper and we used path 3. We will definite be back!

Looking Forward to Next Time
Very peaceful. Only neighbors was a roving herd of cows. Large area to setup on. We had 4 vehicles and everyone had room to spread out. Amazing sky at night. The road to the gate requires climbing a short hill with some ruts and baseball-sized rocks. I'd recommend leaving the Ferrari at home.

Great spot 👍👍
Very remote feeling. Beautiful dense piñon forest surrounds the camp site. Fire pit is epic. Follow the written directions. Great little hike down into a ravine. Vet quiet and serene. The wind is alive there.. Saw some elk and bear prints and lots of cows around. Some technical driving is needed to not get stuck in a rut but not too bad for CO..

Great, private spot to get away!
This spot is amazing! Having all that acreage to ourselves was really a treat. There is so much to explore around the area with amazing views of the surrounding mountains, and great perks like the tire swing (our kids loved!), picnic tables, and trees for shade. Our dogs loved exploring and our kids had a blast running around. And we all loved the huge fire pit that we cooked on each night and roasted s'mores around. There is a lot of trails and roads to explore around the area, too, via mountain bike or hiking. And the stars at night were amazing as well - it's so clear and we could see a ton of stars in the sky! I highly recommend this spot.

Perfect for Shooting Stars!
This site was just what my family needed to have some Quiet Time! A Heads Up: the maps led to the general location, not the exact campsite. We had a rough go finding the exact spot but Michael was so super patient and helpful in leading us to the site! After we set up camp, we enjoyed the night sky with about a dozen shooting stars! It’s about a two hour drive to the Sand Dunes which is where we went to and came back to build a fantastic fire in the huge fire pit that’s there at the site. Super GORGEOUS surroundings!! We will definitely be booking another stay!
