Picturesque location, fab hosts!

Such a beautiful and private location. Our kids had a blast exploring and feeding the fish in the pond. A must-visit if you are in the area - you won’t want to leave! The hosts are kind and helpful and take such good care of the grounds. We will be back!

Tim and Lori were amazing hosts! They greeted us at the gate upon arrival and drove us to our site. Lori gave us homemade chocolate chip cookies, doggie bags with treats, a goodie bag for my kids to play with and fish food! They were available whenever we had any questions. The property is beautiful and spot 4 was the perfect spot for my family of 5 and our 2 dogs! We absolutely recommend this camp and 100% plan to come and stay again!

This is the second time that my Brother and I have stayed at Tim and Lori's place, and we love it here! The views are stunning and they are very accommodating! I have referred many friends and family to go here for their future camping trips! We will be back again!

Beautiful Retreat!

This is an amazing property. We came once before in July this year, and decided to invite our friends who brought their daughter (our daughters best friend, and our 4 year old sons favorite person) for her first camping trip. We had the area around the pond to ourselves, the girls (both 8 years old) had a magical time. All of us grownups had a great time too. The goodies for the kids and our dog were so much fun. We realized we dont really need to bring anything to entertain our kids next time. The place was fascinating to them. At one point the girls jumped into the pond together, it was truly an adventure! The kids are begging us to stay there a month next time.... if only that were feasible! We also took a hike up a hill to see one of their other campgrounds. It was amazing, although I'm not sure our car would make the trek. I love this place, it is such a gift that Tim and Lori have chosen to share their beautiful property so that families can have a much needed retreat. I cant wait to go back next year.

Mountain sunrise

Tim and Lori were fantastic hosts. They meet us when we arrived and explained everything we need to know. They also gave us some fantastic cookies and doggie treats making us feel very welcome. They gave us our space to enjoy their beautiful property. Amazing how beautiful the sun rise was coming up over the mountains. We had a young dog with us and it was his first time off leash to run and explore. It was a wonderful site to see him so happy. Thank you!

Great time camping!

My wife and I loved camping out of our car on Tim & Lori’s land! It was calm and the view of Pikes Peak was great. We were able to gather our own fire wood which was a great option. There were lots of deer all the time and essentially no noise. We didn’t get a chance to explore the whole property but I would definitely like to go again to explore more. It was an amazing place!

There's No Place like Camp Penguin!

This was one of the most peaceful and beautiful campsites I have ever been to. Tim and Lori are very good hosts, they have thought of everything to make this a wonderful retreat, which is quite an art. Even the bathroom and the trash can were well thought out. The kids really loved gazing into the pond and observing all the wildlife. Our dog was the happiest he had ever been getting to run around our campsite and circle the pond with the kids. We will be back! A side note: We did a fancy weeklong trip to Disney World a few months ago..... Camp Penguin was hands down our favorite trip this year.

This is a stunning camp site overlooking mountains and a beautiful little pond. I brought my dog and he had a great time swimming and exploring the property. Lori and Tim are wonderful and thoughtful hosts! We will definitely return in the future!

This spot was amazing! Tim and Lori were great hosts, they explained everything to us and were always available if we had questions. The camp site was incredible - the view of Pike’s Peak was so beautiful. It was nice to have a bathroom and the aspen trees provided some shade which was nice. Highly recommend this spot!

Love Camp Penguin!!

Wonderful stay at Camp Penguin. Tim and Lori are fantastic hosts. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our site (3) by the pond. We fished, waded in the spillway, played games around the area, had great campfire evenings, and Lori’s cookies were FAB! We also partook of the fresh eggs for a lovely breakfast one morning. Will definitely be back.

The site was so nice and private. We had a lot of space to wander and explore without seeing or hearing any others. They greeted us with cookies and dog treats plus activity pack for our toddler! They also provided a water bucket for the fire, firepit, and picnic table. We were able to gather lots of wood for the fire and never ran out. We had fun walking around the property by the pond and seeing the chickens as well. Great spot and easy to find. It is windier at this spot up on the hill but there is also lots of shade for a hot day.

It is a beautiful location away from everything, but if you do need amenities, Canon City is about 35 mins away. With only 4 spots, you are not alone but obviously it is fairly private with a stocked pond (catch and release) as well as plenty of areas to take nice walks. The roads outside the property are dirt so great for gravel type biking as well. But for me it was the hospitality of Tim and Lori that made the place stand out. They have had very interesting lives, spending over 20 years in Antartica, and are just warm and friendly people who very much want you to have a good experience on their land.

Camp Penguine was amazing! We had a lovely time tent camping by the pond and our pups LOVED getting to swim and play. Tim and Lori were so kind and gave us a very warm welcome, even gifting us some (delicious) homemade cookies for us and some treats for the pups as well. The view was amazing and the land was VERY well kept- would absolutely recommend!
