It was a very independent experience, where you get to create your own oasis! Teresa and Amy were just so wonderful and kind. Our three year old had the time of his life feeding and walking the goats. It was incredible!

2 nights at Serenity in the Foothills

Want peace and quiet without annoying neighbors? This is the place for you. We didn't see another soul for the two days we were there. Jeff, our host, was awesome and communicated very well. Please note, these are primitive sites with no tables, toilets or hook ups. Porta-potties were there but not yet open for us. You will be "roughing" it. Happily, this wasn't an issue for us as we brought our travel trailer. Also, please note, when Jeff says 4-wheel drive required....it is. The road to our campsite was a bit rough but navigable with 4-wheel drive. The only real criticism I have is tree branches along the access road need to be trimmed to avoid scratching trailers. I have a 20' trailer and was occasionally taking it off the beaten path where possible to avoid tree limbs. Shouldn't be a problem if you have a smaller/shorter trailer. All in all, great host and great campsites. If you enjoy the sounds of silence, this is a great location and rather close to the Denver metro area.

3 nights at Serenity in the Foothills

Jeff was an incredible host. He was responsive to any questions we had provided excellent directions to get to the site. The spot is remote so be prepared to drive, and it was exactly what we needed- clean, no frills, and far from our neighbors. Highly recommend and will come back when we’re back in the neighborhood

1 night at Lakeside Camping, Water Time :)

We had such a great time camping here. Mike's directions were very clear, the campsites were perfect, and he even had canoes and kayaks! There was another camper who said she stays there whenever she can for a getaway, which made it feel even more special. Thanks for a great stay, and we'll be back next time we're in the area!

This is my second time coming back to Jeff’s property. It is about amazing. I’ve been camping in the front range for over 10 years and this is one of the best. All the sites are spread out and you can’t see anyone from any of the sites. I highly recommended coming here.

This was our third time camping at the Serenity Camp. We keep coming back because it really is serene. It does require clearance and for some of the spots 4WD, but Jeff is conscientious about making sure you've got the right car for the spot you go to. This time we tried disk golfing, and it was super fun!

5 nights at Serenity in the Foothills

Absolutely gorgeous place and completely private. The scenery is amazing. We definitely wanted to stay longer, but a spring snow and ice weather forecast meant we had to cut it short. Jeff’s directions to get to the campground were perfect and his description of the road in (one lane with pullouts) as well as the dirt roads to the sites themselves is absolutely accurate. We were in site 12 and didn’t have any trouble getting there with our truck and off road capable teardrop trailer. I wouldn’t have wanted to try it with a big camper or one with low clearance. We will definitely be back!!

Teresa is an amazingly accommodating hostess who strives to makes her guests feel welcomed. My boys loved the goats and donkeys especially. We had such a great time that we extended our stay multiple times.

We had a fantastic time at the Creekside Chalets, from the ease of the check-in to the site's amenities. We travel with a senior dog, and having a comfortable pet area is a major plus. I was worried about the proximity to the road, but they have nice fencing and enough trees to allow pet safety and privacy. If you travel with kids, there are outdoor areas they will enjoy as well. We loved it and will be back!

Rustic Creek Ranch

The 160 acre ranch was homesteaded by my grandfather over 100 years ago. He was an engineer. The plan was to use this property as summer grazing for his cattle. The cattle were wintered at the other ranch about 10 miles away, which was homesteaded by my great grandfather. Because my grandfather could survey, he made sure the property lines zigzaged up the valley so the small creek was in the middle to provide water for the animals. He chose well. It is a beautiful, quiet place with elk, deer and wild turkeys. There are tons of wild flowers in the summer. Columbines, the Colorado state flower, wild roses, paintbrushes and lots of wild chokecherries. With nice views of nearby mountains, open pastures, evergreen forests and aspen groves, it looks like it did 100 years ago. Plus, there are a couple of ponds for your dogs to cool off in. Since the first cattle, the ranch has also been home to goats, chickens, horses, and now more goats, alpacas and llamas. And of course the Great Pyrenees ranch dogs. I had a house built a few years ago and live on the property full time. The ranch is surrounded by Pike National Forest with the Colorado Trail connecting the property in a number of places. Some of the highest ranked mountain bike trails are nearby. There are lots of places on and off the property to hike, mountain bike and ride your horse. On a clear night you can see thousands of stars and hear coyotes howl. For a drone video of the ranch check out: YouTube's Midsummer 2020 Flyover. We can handle RVs around 40-45 feet in TOTAL LENGTH - truck and trailer. It’s a big field, but a narrow, winding and steep ramp to get in and out. If you are a nervous driver, perhaps choose another place to rest your head. If you are a great driver, you can go even bigger. Prior to your exit, open the gate!! Don't hesitate while going up the driveway - if you stop on your way up, you may not get going again. We have a community fire ring with a big pile of free burn wood, though the big logs are getting few and far between; having your own firewood is recommended. Bring an ax or saw. If it's windy, please skip the fire. We have well water to offer up by the house, but I wouldn’t drink it without purification… makes for a great outdoor shower. We have fresh eggs! The chickens free range during the day, so please keep an eye on your dogs… leash if necessary. Our gals won’t run away. Venmo code at the coop for your convenience. Little Scraggy Camp is located on 95 acres of an historic 160-acre ranch that was homesteaded by our family in the 1890’s, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. This totally off-grid ranch is surrounded by Pike National Forest, yet has easy access from a paved road. We offer several accommodations and glamping sites, as well as sites for moderate sized RVs, travel trailers, truck campers, vans, tents, and hammocks. You might prefer rock climbing Little Scraggy or fishing the gold-medal waters of the South Platte River canyon below Cheesman Dam and the waters near Deckers. For a day trip, Wellington Lake is only 30 minutes away for no-wake water sports. Many people enjoy kayaking on the North Fork of the South Platte downstream from nearby Buffalo Creek. This is a working ranch where we raise and train Shire draft horses and also ponies. Our particular interest is in carriage driving, and we offer driving experiences upon request.

Glen Isle is located in Bailey, Colorado which is the perfect vacation spot for friends, family, reunions, or a private get away. Glen Isle was originally built for an escape from hectic Denver. Once you cross the bridge into the resort, you’ll understand why it has served as a peaceful getaway for over a century. The Platte River welcomes you and divides the property from Highway 285. If you love to fish, you have a mile of the river to use at your disposal. If hiking is your forte and you desire to explore nature, Glen Isle is surrounded by the National Forest, Lost Creek Wilderness, Payne Gulch Trailhead, the Colorado Trail and many private acres for you to explore. You will find history narrates the Native American’s story where Glen Isle was once used as an Indian encampment, and numerous trees still stand today that were culturally modified to mark sacred treasures. If you seek tranquility, you will find hummingbirds and chipmunks always seeking an audience to entertain. Starting June 1st, we will offer evening activities, and campers are welcome to come to the lodge, shop in our gift shop. We also have snacks for purchase, and popcorn for our guests to enjoy. (Glorious Glen Isle was unoccupied for six years. We are in the process of renovating hundred year old cabins, and the 8,000 square foot lodge. Our camping areas have a river setting, glorious valley views, and a private setting surrounded by the National Forest. However, there is renovation and construction going on around some areas of the property. Additionally, as you can see from the map and read in a few reviews, we are just on the other side of the beautiful Platte River from Highway 285. About 75% of our guests are not bothered by the busyness of the this highway but others can be more sensitive to the noise. We want Glen-Isle campers to enjoy their experience as much as possible, so if you would like more information, please do not hesitate to ask. Our goal is to share the property with others, and to have the "happiest" campers in Colorado!) Glen Isle Resort was opened in 1901, by five original investors. In 1923, the property was bought by the Baldwin's and in the 1940's it was given to the Baldwin's granddaughter, Barbara and her husband Gordon Tripp. The Tripp family owned and operated the resort until Barbara's death in November 2012. Mary Ruth grew up coming to Glen Isle Resort as a child in the 1970's. Her favorite memories are the chuckwagon dinners, horseback riding, evening dances, movie nights, and the endless activities that never grew old. Mary Ruth grew up, married Greg, and they started bringing their five boys to Glen Isle Resort. Mary Ruth and Greg were both professionals in education, and visited Glen Isle in the summer of 2016 after an Adele concert. They found their beloved Glen Isle was being sold. After much consideration, they found the idea of not pursuing a dream to be more terrifying than looking back and wondering "why" they didn't...so they began the magical journey to purchase, restore, and bring historical Glen Isle back to life.

We moved here in 1997 The home has had major remodels done on it. The lake is an old gravel pit to make road base for local road construction. The buoys in the lake are scuba projects from the local college CMU, and hold lots of fish. Other nesting platforms are for our local Geese and they hatch out in April-June. We airbnb 2 rooms in our home as a shared facility and have airbnbs in Northern Ca and Baja. Our home is off limits for campers as we need to respect the space for our other airbnb guests. But in an emergence please call, cell service works fine. port-a potty is gone for the winter November-April. port-a potty is clean and works great, May- Oct. If you are here in the winter you may use the trees or Mavericks gas station in 1.5 miles away. The first two pets are included at no additional cost. For any additional pets beyond the first two, there is a fee of $10 per pet, per night. Please make sure to add the Pet fee extra accordingly.

This property has been in my family since 1900. It is still a working farm/ranch but we are looking to let a select few others enjoy our property. My grandfather built the lake with a d9 cat bulldozer in the 50's and we are just completing a sediment clean out and refurbishment of the lake. All of the trees were planted by my great grandfather and they afford lots of wildlife cover; wild turkeys, raccoons, skunks, squirrels, etc. The area we selected for camping is in a bowl so you have good privacy. The lake is stocked for fishing and because its private, no license is needed. The fishing hole and swimming hole are separate from the main lake and offer cheaper accommodations. We limit ourselves to 2 campsites to the 100 acres, so there is plenty of privacy. There is some road noise and smell from the local dairy that is about 1/2 mile away if the wind is right. Simple private camp spot - there is a swimming/fishing hole with dock and ladder. There is a year round creek and some small islands that can be explored. Fire pit, portapotty and propane grill are available. Potable water and sewage dump is available at main residence but not at camp site. This is designed to be a family friendly area that's great for younger kids. Area is also a pasture so cows and cow patties could be encountered and wild deer and turkey are around. If you have a larger family than 4 remember hipcamps policy is that younger children do not count towards the limit.
