Beautiful—no toilet till May
Beautiful, remote location surrounded by mountains.. Sounds of birds all around including the peacocks! There was a cool tire swing and some other fun things for kids. Our stay was at the very end of March. We did not learn until later that the Porta potties do not get installed until May 1, so be aware especially if you’re traveling with a family, you will have to leave the site to find a toilet and many gas stations close their restrooms after 8 PM. Honestly, we would not have booked if we had known there were no on-site toilets. Hopefully the host updated the listing to reflect this more accurately.
There were numerous new trees planted that were budding out, so I think this place will continue to become more beautiful. The water was clear and if you bring life jackets there were plenty of canoes and such.

Careful - no toilets in March!
Listing isn't clear on available toilets. We were there in March and the site listing says toilets are available but they weren't. We asked and got no response from Mike. So, we probably won't go back at anytime seems unreliable

Perfect!
This was a great stop over on our way to the grand canyon. We arrived around 9:10PM had a little camp fire for our girls to make stores before bed. The lake is gorgeous and we had a canoe trip in the morning before heading out. 10/10 highly recommend!

Beautiful site. Extremely nice people! We just did our test run in a trailer with my 90 year old dad. A little chilly (it is March!), but perfect.

Just passing through…
I stayed here for a night along a cross country road trip. Campgrounds are at the edge of town and had a remote feeling, with beautiful vistas for both sunset and sunrise. The site itself (#4) felt private as the firepit and table were tucked into a grassy corner. There was tons of firewood at the site and kindling already placed in the pit. Easy to find area with great directions. Local conveniences only a few minutes away, with many more options downtown in Grand Junction. Would definitely stay again!

Just passing through exactly what I needed. Mike got back to me in minutes of booking and let me know about things to do and answered questions I had. I’ll will be back for sure. Thanks Mike!!
