Great views, loud highway

The site was well maintained, the host was helpful and very friendly, and all the other campers were also very friendly. The river and surrounding foothills were beautiful and lovely to wake up to. The highway that the campsite is on is much busier than I was anticipating, and so it was difficult for light sleepers and also hard to feel in nature. That is the only thing I would note is if you are looking for a quiet get-away, this is not that spot. Everything else was wonderful!

Camping with a young child.
I loved the cabin and the vibes. It was safe and calm my 6 year old son and I had a great Easter. It snowed the first day and it was so beautiful having snow in a cabin on the lake and the second day was 60° and everything melted and it was extremely perfect. We had the best of both worlds. The cabin was clean nice and warm with the heater provided even when it went down to 18° you can see the river right outside your door. I think this was the best placement cabin there is it’s hard to find a cabin that’s right on a river, but this is exactly that I definitely recommend.

Best Campsite in Colorado
I could not recommend this campsite more! It has everything you need plus it’s only 5 minutes down the road from a country store with anything else you could possibly need. The owner is incredibly kind and generous, gave us a great deal and upgraded our stay! (Has a cute kitty named Gus too). This site even seemed to have water and electrical hookups if you’re someone who off-road camps - it has all different types of sites and for such a good deal, plus the views are to die for. The river is so nice and you’re right on it so you hear it first thing in the morning and as you’re going to bed. 10/10!!

RV River 8 - 30amp pull-through
The campground was nice but we had some trouble when we first arrived. Unbeknown to us, the office was closed on Sundays and Mondays in the off season. We arrived on a Monday and our arrival paperwork/info was not at the front door as stated on the email from HipCamp. We were trying to hurry a bit to get to Black Canyon of the Gunnison before they closed at 4 pm, but the delay in getting our campsite number made us late. They were just closing the visitor center when we got there. We had to go back a second time as a result. Otherwise it was a nice experience and we enjoyed the rest of our stay.

Great spot right on the river! We had a wonderful time here. You do have to watch out for cow poop but that's nature. Loved our stay
