Enjoy camping in the mountains on the backside of Pike's Peak with our Treehouse or your own tent! You will be close to all the mountains have to offer! A little slice of heaven in the mountains for your campsite which is close to many local and tourist popular destinations! Less than a mile to Mueller State Park, just over 3 miles to Trailhead of Pike's Peak, 5 miles to Horsethief Park Trailhead, short distance to Cripple Creek, and not far from many other popular locations in the area!Many new updates and modern off-grid features added to the treehouse for the 2024 season to make your stay more comparable to traditional-style living! Grab the keys to your favorite 4x4/All-Wheel Drive vehicle, and come enjoy getting off-grid while re-living your childhood fantasy of staying in an actual Treehouse! Come and enjoy the finer things in life when it comes to modern off-grid living. You may be off-grid, but you will not feel like it with how close you are to everything, and most service providers still have cell phone service at the Treehouse. Enjoy ALL the Colorado mountains and outdoors have to offer nearby, while being able to stay in a magical treehouse during your stay; which will give you never-ending memories for countless years to come. You will be COMFORTABLE and COZY in this treehouse with your king-size memory foam mattress bed to rest up after a long days’ worth of adventuring out in the mountains! There are detailed instructions given for those individuals who are not familiar with some of the modern off-grid living, so there is no need to worry over not being able to try this lifestyle out. If you are not familiar with daily modern off-grid living, then make sure to read and familiarize yourself with everything by the detailed instructions given to you before your arrival date. We are also available to meet you on-site upon arrival to give a brief orientation of everything you need to know for a worry-free stay. This Treehouse was built to meet or exceed the structural specifications of a traditional home, so we didn’t harm any trees during the making. We only trimmed tree limbs, and did not connect any part of the treehouse to the actual trees, just incorporated the trees into the treehouse build and the trees were built around where the wrap-around porch is. Come and re-connect with nature and the mountains in this treehouse, while enjoying the modern advances of new off-grid technology, and book your stay today! Great spot close to the city but it feels like you are in the middle of a Forrest. There were some planes you could hear from the airforce base nearby, but I'm not sure if that is a regular occurrence or one time thing.

Great camp site!! The camp toilet was super clean and stocked with toilet paper and extra bags and there was a great fire pit and lots of dry wood around. I also loved that there was a ladder and platform/net to store your food and scented items away from the campsite so no bears came near the site.

Stargazing Anniversary Getaway
Off-Grid Tiny House Treehouse
We stayed here for our anniversary and were so impressed. It's a spacious treehouse with a loft-style bedroom up a ladder and a beautiful wrap around outside area on the lower level perfect for viewing stars or just spending time outside. Drinking water and coffee are provided which was a nice touch. We were plenty warm even though it rained most of the night (falling asleep to that was amazing). We were warm all night and the bed was huge. Truly a gem tucked away about 45 minutes from Colorado Springs!

This was a great little campsite that my young son and I really enjoyed! It was straightforward to get to with easy instructions and directions. Despite being right off the road, the site feels secluded when you're in it. There is probably a 10-15 foot hill from the parking pad to the campsite itself, and the composting toilet was really nice to have as hills and vegetation on either side of the site would have made it difficult to use nature as a bathroom.

I didn't receive the directions to the campsite within 24 hours, so I followed up and was told it was stuck in the Hipcamp pipeline. The instructions arrived with a note that there had been a significant amount of rainfall recently so I told my husband to bring a tarp to put on the ground. Upon arrival, there was a huge, deep pit of standing water and lots of mosquitoes. We contemplated sleeping in the car, but wouldn't have been able to have windows open, so we left. Maybe experienced campers know how to interpret what the comment "a significant amount of rainfall recently" means, but being more straightforward about the implications and offering to refund the cost would have been more appropriate.

This tent camping spot is beautifully situated on the top of a hill with a great view. It is all gravel at the top which makes putting up your tent very easy. They aren’t kidding about needing 4 wheel drive, don’t mess around thinking you can do it without, you’ll be sorry! Great place to stay!

We loved staying in the treehouse. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful and tended to our every need and question in a very timely manner. The place was beautiful and was close to so many activities in the area. They even provided utensils and plates and toothbrushes, which was an amazing surprise. They only downside was that we couldn't stay longer. It was so much fun.

Tent camping on Andrew and Elissa’s property was wonderful! All 4 of their sites were booked this weekend but the noise from other campers was completely reasonable. Super peaceful and gorgeous place overall. I would definitely recommend! The Twisted Tree campsite is definitely a steep hike but I took the advice of a previous review and got a wagon to make the haul easier and it helped a ton!

We enjoyed our stay overall and would definitely come back. The only thing I would suggest is to bring a collapsible wagon to haul stuff up the hill to the site. It’s walkable but tiring after a few trips up and down from the car 😊 It was also somewhat difficult to find in the dark. Would be helpful if instructions mentioned something like “driveway is just south of clearly marked sign for X.” Other than that, it was peaceful with beautiful views, plenty of firewood to collect, convenient to Manitou Springs/Colorado Springs. No signal at the base of the driveway but a slight signal at the actual campsite with AT&T.

Its a secluded area covered by trees that provided a good amount of shade. My wife and I liked the propane fire pit. Not sure if due to user error but it would shut off on us periodically but restarting was no issue at all. A small picnic table came in handy and there was a composting toilet that my wife appreciated a lot. The area was rocky which a bit difficult to dig in even my heavy duty stakes but held up fine. It is a private area secured by a gate. However only drawback for us was the site was close to the street. Maybe because of the Labor Day weekend it felt busy and heard cars, trucks and motorcycles thoughout the night. The moments of complete silence was very nice and the stars looked amazing. Even though it is a drive in site it is still and in-direct car access site. So for those wanting complete access to your vehicle its still a tiny hike up to the site moving gear etc. Those with roof top tents I could see having 2 areas, the parking/tent site and above a place to eat, hang out and have a bathroom.

I had a great time at this camping spot. It was really secluded and quiet. All the information I received was really helpful and made the stay super easy. There were beautiful trees everywhere and could see the stars clearly every night. The first 10 minutes of us arriving, we saw two huge bucks run across the trail from the campsite so was a great start. Would definitely recommend visiting this site.

Beautiful secluded campsite nestled in a quiet valley with huge aspen and pine trees. A private secure entrance that does not require 4-wheel drive means no one will be crossing your site. Just a quick drive to Mueller State Park for hiking. Andrew was kind to quickly ready the site for us very last minute and made sure we had everything we needed. This site is well named as the night sky was full of bright stars.

Wonderful campsite with all accommodations available as listed. The path to get down and up from the site is definitely a bit of a workout if you have a decent amount of gear, but very doable. Would definitely camp here again sometime.

We loved camping at this site! It is a beautiful location, where you feel secluded and you don’t even hear or see the other site. And the stars on a clear night are incredible! I will say that the incline from the twisted tree site up to where you park is steep and is a definite workout packing out your camping gear. But 10 out of 10 recommend, we will definitely be back many more times in the future.

Amenities galore!
"Glamping" Pike's Peak
This place was perfect for a birthday weekend getaway and we can attest to the fact that the canvas tent truly is weatherproof because we got some serious wind and thunderstorms our first night! The bed is crazy comfortable/warm and not needing to bring chairs or pillows/linens was so convenient! Everything was clean and well maintained, and the only wildlife we saw were birds and squirrels! The only tiny down side is the noise from the highway the site sits off of, but we will definitely be coming back again regardless! Also, it’s 30 mins from Pikes Peak and 5 minutes from Mueller State Park (we did both in one weekend)!

Gorgeous campsite that’s convenient to anything you need. Very secluded and surrounded by large trees. The stars at night are absolutely amazing without all the light pollution. 😌 We came from Denver and it was an easy drive. Definitely trust the reviews when they say you MUST have a 4WD vehicle to navigate the drive in. The walk into the site is very steep, prepare for a workout. Once you’re down in the site, there isn’t much reason to leave anyway. Plenty of fallen trees and branches for the fire pit, and they even provided a camp toilet/tent and folding table. 5 stars and exactly what you’re looking for if you need to get out of your routine and reconnect with nature. The land is beautiful and so fun to explore, we saw a badger and some elk while roaming around. Book it!

We loved camping at Andrew and Elissa's land. The bed was comfortable and having the keurig inside the tent was a nice way to start the morning. With bug spray we didn't have too much of a problem with bugs.

The Twisted Tree Tent-Campsite is located in a quiet, little valley and surrounded by towering evergreens, aspen trees, wildlife and flowers. It was the perfect place for my own getaway in the mountains. There is also plenty of wood for campfires in the provided fire pit. If you're looking for a quiet and beautiful campsite, Twisted Tree is an amazing choice! The hike into camp is challenging, so be sure and pack lite : )
