We began this venture in 2012 by purchasing 35 acres overlooking a 7000 acre homestead. We are located on the beautiful eastern plains of Colorado southeast of Denver. Rolling hills dotted with Ponderosa pines that encourage wildlife to settle in. Pikes Peak, Longs Peak and Mount Evans all visible on clear days. We have 35 acres and raise alpaca’s, chickens, cats and dogs as well as a large garden. We are totally off grid and enjoy life in the home my husband built using trees he cut down and milled on his sawmill. We lived on the property in a 400sq ft cottage while building the house and this cottage is now available to rent. Water is available outside and the outhouse is just a few steps away. It comes equipped with a woodturning stove you can use to cook on.
We added the Bijou Tree House to our options a couple years ago! It is a one room cabin (sleeps 2) with an incredible picture window that frames Pikes Peak beautifully. It is nestle among some old Ponderosa Pines; sports a cute but tiny wood burning stove; bar table in front of the window; deck with seating and a propane camp chef 2 burner stove. A hammock is available for use and private outhouse just a few feet away. Across the gulley is the new Sawmill Cabin built under the canopy of Jim's sawmill. It is small, and can sleep 3 with a unique bunk over a queen sized platform bed. A small deck, fire pit all under a covered open space. More kids? Bring a tent! there’s room!
Numerous tent sites are available all within easy walking to your car. An outhouse is close by.
We love sharing our story and our home and the beautiful place God has gifted us with people from all over the world and hope to host you as well. Come Camp; and relax. Watch and listen to the birds, deer and antelope really do play here two little fawns were chasing each other through the gully just this morning. We are blessed beautiful sunrises and sunsets; stars at night and an added bonus is our Farm Store where we showcase products made from our alpaca's, and trees my husband has cut down... !

A few important notes:
Dogs are welcome, but they must be well-trained, friendly, and respectful of other animals. They’re free to roam, but chasing calves or causing trouble with livestock will not be tolerated. We have our own dogs and will do our best to keep them secured with advance notice of your estimated arrival time.
No bathroom facilities are available.
Campfires are not permitted unless explicitly approved by us.
Upon arrival, we’ll happily check you in and show you to your campsite. We’ll be available if you need anything, but we won’t disturb your peace otherwise.

Treehouse Magic sits on an 80-acre horse ranch 6476 feet above Sea level (+ 20 feet for the treehouse!!) Built by hand, with love, and a little help from our friends over a 4-year period. Treehouse Magic is built around PAL an over 80+-year-old Ponderosa Pine.
This wonderful space is magical in every way! Only 300 sq. feet with an almost 1100 sq. foot deck, including the covered gnome room. The upstairs bedroom is a full mattress (14" gel mattress). There is also a fold-out couch to sleep 1. The main level couch will fold down and become another bed platform. We provide a CordaRoys transformable chair, that unzips and becomes the bed topper (plus extra sheets, blankets and pillows). Some of the kid guests like to sleep in the Gnome room in the "pop-up" tent and cots (during the Summer months). We provide a "smart movie projector" with built-in ROKU, for a movie night...The outdoor kitchen includes a PitBoss pellet smoker/grill, and propane griddle. The kitchen has a 2-burner gas stove and a small refrigerator. The bathroom has a Nature's Head composting toilet... (a little tutorial is needed) a sink and a trough step-in tub/shower with rain head. Wifi- Roku on inside TV as well or just the calm of beautiful nature!
Please note: This is a real treehouse!! Running water will be turned off from Nov-April (except for warm days and we can turn on for a short time). We will be sure you have plenty of potable water for drinking and using.

What a charming comfortable cabin! Set in a nestle of old ponderosa pines with a nice patio to let the breeze and the birdsong wash away the stresses of the city. We were greeted with a gift bag of bottled water and homemade cookies upon arrival and later the hosts had a six pack of farm fresh eggs for us. Beautiful views of Pikes Peak, Mount Evans, and Longs Peak were interrupted only by Western Meadowlarks, Sparrows and Broad Tailed Hawks. Definitely a place to return to!

The farm animals were healthy and provided loads of entertainment. View from the property is beautiful. You can even see a section of the Rocky Mountains.

This place is magic. It really is. We rented it for my Son's 12th birthday, the boys enjoyed it. My Daughter fell in love with it! She counted the gnomes, the ants, she enjoyed lounging in the hammocks, the peacefulness of the place is stunning. The stars at night were so good. Horses, goats, great hosts. Jaimie is a great host! She communicated quickly and clearly, was flexible when a storm blew in, and was great to talk to about the area.
For us, the location was great. Easy to find, plenty of room with level sites, a wind break, two pine trees perfect for a hammock, quiet with great bird songs, and 'very' easy to get to the paint mines. As a photographer I went in the morning and evening catching great colors.
We were not bothered by the wind turbines. On the contrary it was quite amazing to see the red lights blinking out to the eastern horizon. There was some sound, but it blended into the background.
It was nice talking with Jaimie who worked on the turbines along with her husband. Learned about transporting those long propellors by truck!
This was a perfect getaway for us. Three days, although we could have stayed longer. However, we will definitely return. Not only for the paint mines, but also for a taste of life on the prairie.
This was five stars all around!

The land was gorgeous waking up to windmills surrounding you is definitely an incredible experience. The hosts were just incredible too! I won’t lie this was our first time car camping so we were ROOKIES! We got stuck in the snow, and when we gave up trying to shovel ourselves out, we texted our hosts and he they immediately came and got us out. They are incredible people not only did they help us but the entire time they were so gracious and kind!

We stayed in the treehouse last night to watch the Geminid meteor shower, and it was absolutely perfect. We specifically chose this spot after looking on the Dark Sky Map for a location within an hour of Denver that had very low light pollution and the 360° view of the sky did not disappoint. The large picture window in the treehouse was the hook so our little kids were able to stay warm inside while still having a great view of the meteor shower.
The hosts were incredibly sweet and had everything warm and ready for us when we arrived. The treehouse was well stocked with everything we needed to cook dinner, and there was a great space for the kids to do crafts and play board games we brought along.
In the morning, we got to spend time with the alpacas, who were so friendly—even with our 3-year-old running around and petting them nonstop. That was a huge highlight for everyone.
We will absolutely keep this place on our list for all future astronomical events and can’t wait to come back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s just off the freeway, so it made for a nice quick stop. The amenities were top-notch. Perfect place to reset after traveling the road. Our kids enjoy the playground and play room. We used their laundromat which is available 24hrs. The showers were warm and kept clean. Overall it was a great experience.

Jamie is very gracious, knowledgeable and kind. This location is right next to the Paint Mines and a great place to say after your hike. The location is very quiet and great for star and moon gazing.
This site also sits adjacent to a wind(mill) farm which is a great unique landscape. Very nice, safe place to stay!
