The 80-acre semi-rural property is a nature lover's paradise, boasting vast bushland teeming with native vegetation and wildlife. The property offers a tranquil retreat with the highlight being a spectacular spring-fed dam, providing a serene oasis for relaxation and recreation. The diverse ecosystem supports a variety of flora and fauna, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The property is located close to a myriad of wineries and is not far from the Yarra Valley towns of Gembrook, Yarra Junction and Warburton. Each with their own unique qualities.
When travelling to the Tranquil Waters Campground it can be a little tricky. Please pay attention to the photos and map provided for directions - the address is 600 Thonemans Road, Hoddles Creek.
The area is known for its beautiful walking tracks located in the Kurth Kiln national park which is only a few Km's drive.
If fruit picking is something you would like to try, then Rayner Orchard located at 60 Schoolhouse Road, Woori Yallock would be a great place to visit.
Its hard to go past the Gladysdale Bakehouse or Carrige Cafe in Seville for brunch/lunch if that's your thing.
Alternatively you can simply relax and enjoy the peace an quite!
For the fishing enthusiasts, we added 100 Golden Perch to the spring-fed dam in November 2022 - they should be about big enough to catch and have some fun with.
Note: Don't camp near or directly under trees, please camp within the open areas for safety reasons.Guests will have a site area to themselves, but please note there may also be other campers on the property at the same time so this will need to be considered. Not all of the property is suitable to camping and we would strongly recommend you do not set-up camp under any trees.
There is a single drop toilet on the property for all campers to use but please bring your own toilet paper and ensure it is cleaned after your stay.
Great camp site, 🏕
Good for families, couples, friends groups etc.
Lots around locally to do, very beautiful setting, we particularly loved the dam. Jon the owner was easy to contact if need be, which was wonderful. Thanks again, we loved our staycation.
Unfortunately, the site, is not near running water but a dam. So, if you are looking for running water, I would not recommend. There isn't much lush greenery and has more of dry scenery. Which didn't work for me and was not what I was after. Also, there was absolutely no one there, so I felt incredibly unsafe to spend the night there alone solo camping. no reception so if anything was to happen i would not be able to reach out to anyone. I decided not to stay at this site and went elsewhere.
Lovely camp spot, but there's no water in sight, no sign saying there's any water, nothing in the description telling you where you might find the magical water and a fair few campers with towels walking around looking for some tranquil water. I'm sure it's there somewhere, but it's not near the campsite :->
The campsite is nice and open with lots of space to set up camp without having to be close to other campers.
Beautiful scenery and was very relaxing!
Only faults were that the toilet could do with an upgrade and the campsite is hard to find.
Must use the map in the photos to help find the location.
Jon was very responsive to any questions I had.
We had a great time and would recommend the campsite.
We loved our stay at Tranquil Waters! The place was fully booked Saturday night but there was still so much spaciousness for everyone
Very luckily had the space to ourselves Sunday which was so beautiful
Thankyou Jon for having us and for the great communication beforehand 🙂
