The property is bordered by he Murrundini River on one side, 1km, with hill side views on the other. All campsites have easy access the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace. I please ask that you have a proper profile and details when booking, recent "bots" are creating and causing concerns. Site One is a large flat area close to the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far. Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space. All sites have fire places and gas BBQ's (byo gas bottle) And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck. All sites and river swimming are clothing optional, but please respect other campers in public area's if on site. In response to a recent review, I will point out that the driveway is a gravel farm track. Normal 2Wd cars have not had any recent issues. We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them. Amazing, abundant and rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. (see guests photos). I am hoping to increase the nesting and habitat for as many local birds as possible, which has improved, but can get better with Your help. Not destroying large logs and tree's is first and foremost. But if you are inclined , funds for creating nesting spots are greatly appreciated. You can directly ask for donations to go towards specific prospects/ projects. Tawney frog mouths, king parrots, and many, many other birds call this place home. For donations specific to conservation, please contact me direct. With recent changes, Temporarily, removing site 2. please contact me for regulars. With no light pollution this is the ideal spot for star gazing.

Site one is very large, flat and open, beside the river (approx 1400m2). It has fencing and a gate you can close to let dogs run freely, while keeping them close. There is a picnic table, and stone fire place, with swing out grill (fire drum with hot plate is available). There is a new gas BBQ with roasting hood (BYO new type black handled gas bottle), please leave clean after use. Be mindful of potential falling branches when setting up your site, there is plenty of space to site your tent/ van The swimming area of river is well screened by trees and bushes for those wanting a total naturist experience. There is a 3000L rainwater tank for drinking water.

Secluded camp; shady spot, surrounded by tall gum trees, Black-wood and Silver wattles, and tree ferns. The river is right beside the camp, and is shallower here, ideal for young kids to play and slash in. Fire drum provided with hot plate/ grill. There is now a hooded gas BBQ for your use (BYO gas bottle, please leave clean) This site, while perfect in warm weather, can be damp in winter and early spring. Recommend 4WD in winter and early spring. Please be mindful of potential falling branches. There is a cleared overflow area at the entrance to site 2 proper that is not under the large gum trees, for those that are concerned. Approx 905m2 altogether.

Site 3, "Craig's Flat", is a large, flat cleared area on the edge of the big paddock, beside the river (approx 1444m2) It can accommodate several camper-vans/ tents, etc. It is flat and dry, 2WD most of the time, the track to it can become muddy in late winter. There is a gas BBQ (BYO gas bottle) with roasting hood for use. (please clean after use). * Note: recommend 4WD to access in winter if very wet weather. 2WD fine most of the year. There is original native vegetation along the river banks, and newer plantings on the paddock side. Heaps of native wildlife and birds to see. This site is suited to quiet family groups, not for party's. There are great views from the hill, and it is close to scenic reserves, waterfalls and wineries. Plenty of fish in the river for those that want to try. Feel free to be natural at site and in the river, but respect others in communal areas (toilet block), and be able up cover up if needed.

What a beautiful location! Felt like we were the only ones there, nice and secluded. Gorgeous site right on the river which sounds beautiful to wake up to. Michael was great to communicate with, and really helped us out when we had a vehicle hiccup. Can’t wait to come back for a longer visit

Very peaceful private settting with a flushing toilet nearby The Murrundindi River runs along the site 3 camp area - it’s more of a creek than a river but it’s beautiful and clear with lots of fish I caught this 40cm rainbow yesterday Micheal, the owner is an approachable, friendly guy and he’s good at giving his tenants their space and doesn’t intrude - it’s a great approach and I appreciate it

I loved the peace (human) at this site, just nature and lots of it. Easy (but steep) walk to lovers seat to watch the sunset across the valley, stunning. Morning bird songs a joy. If you enjoy cycling, 11k gentle ride with the only up at the end to Sedona estate winery, great wine and local beers, fab cheese platter with stunning views, owner Paul very welcoming.

What a magical place. I stayed at site 2, which was very private and nicely protected. I didn't see anyone but Michael (the host) all weekend. Just the sounds of bird life and running water - it was pure serenity. Michael was an excellent host, providing good instructions and coming to say hello once I got settled. Highly recommend! I will be back.

We’ve visited this camp site twice now, and have had a great stay each time. This time was the end of August, so quite boggy along the track and on parts of the camp site, but we just carried our gear into the site to avoid driving through the especially boggy sections. The kids loved hanging out at the creek, checking out the frogs in the puddles on the way to the toilet, and playing in the mud. Thanks for having us!

Really good place with lo of space. Loved the fact that you are way from other campers. It is a nice place with all the facilities. The Fire pit is great and near the river. The Toilet is good and clean. Very safe place as well with gates.

Great setup with a picnic bench seat, fire out with grill which was brilliant. The sounds of the river were lovely and lots of wildlife around. Close to the quaint small town of Yea which was super handy. The view from the love seat was worth the steep mini hike with views across the valley. Michael was nothing short of a great host, super quick in responding and great to have a yarn with we will be back

We really enjoyed two nights at Fern Glade. We stayed at site 3 which was lovely and close to the toilet. Kids really enjoyed riding their bikes around and doing a little fishing as well. We will definitely be back.

It’s a fantastic location with plenty of open space, walking trails, and the river right nearby — perfect for relaxing, exploring, fishing, and enjoying nature. The fenced areas are great for pets, giving them plenty of room to run and enjoy themselves safely. We loved the peaceful surroundings & beautiful scenery. It’s an easy drive from Melbourne and would highly recommend this spot for both experienced campers and first-time campers looking for a relaxing getaway.

We loved the camping experience at Fern Glade site 2 over the weeekend. The best thing was that it was just 1 hour and 15 minutes from where we live and it still felt so remote and quiet. The site is beautiful and really gived you the remote camping experience. There is a stream running through the property and great for fishing trout. There is also a great hiking trail 20 minites drive from the site. Overall a great experience. Michael who is the host was very helpful with all the guidance and instructions and was great to deal with
