The property has an abundance of temperate rainforest including massive gum trees, 6m tall tree ferns, permanent spring fed creeks, our own lake and more Australian wildlife than most zoos*. Living here, we feel like we're on holiday every day of the year.
Camping sites are situated at the back of the property just a quick 5-minute walk from the car park. We'll transport your gear to your campsite so you can get set up quickly and start exploring the property or just kick back and relax. The three campsites are positioned so that you won't hear a sound from any other campers on the property. You will feel like you've got the whole place to yourself. And even though the campsites are isolated you'll still enjoy the convenience of clean regular flushing toilet facilities. But unlike any toilet you'll have used before, you'll get to enjoy a our unique loo with a view which is situated right amongst the rainforest looking out over the magestic tree ferns!
Whether you intend to simply relax and listen to all the birdlife, grab a few drinks and head up to the viewing deck to watch the sunset, or put on your hiking boots and explore the rainforest, whatever you do, you will truly get back to nature. While The Love Shack is a private cabin, perfect for intimate getaways for couples we also offer larger group bookings for extended family / and or friend groups with the need for a normal bedroom/bathroom option. There are three under cover areas for group camping use :- an outdoor kitchen
area with sink, bench space and a full size fridge/freezer, an enclosed pen with an extra BBQ, There is a large covered area with a 100" pull down projector screen (bring your own projector for movie nights and fun).
The Shack is a two night minimum stay and sleeps two. Extra guests are welcome in a tents/vans outside at an extra cost per person. The Shack has one bedroom with linen available as an extra, a small open plan kitchen with fridge, kettle and mini cooker. The living room features a little combustion woodfire heater.
Camping enthusiasts can enjoy a level, grassy site with spectacular views across the Tarra River to the forest, or behind you across the paddocks.
We are only 3 kms away from the Tarra Bulga National Park and 10 kms from the historic town of Yarram if you need any supplies. Woodside Beach,
Welshpool and Port Albert are within easy reach too.

The Love shack is a quiet yet private for cabin for single camper or a family who wants to stay close to the nature yet with facilities like shower and toilet. Me and my two dogs enjoyed the stay and fell in love with the view from the cabin. It is also a best spot for stargazing. The cabin has portable water and electricity too also a plug box in the bedroom to connect the charger or other electronic devices. The pine tree views are great and it is a hidden gem close to local amenities. Try the Yarram bakery if you visit the love shack and also the Yarram wetlands to take your dogs for a scroll and to watch some ducks. We will be back again.🤙👏😃

We had a great weekend getaway a the love shack. A beautiful view of rolling Hills and ambient sounds of Kookaburras and cows in the distance left us feeling like we had a great little slice of paradise.
We'll stocked kitchen, comfy couch and outdoor sitting were enjoyed.
The woodfire kept everything nice and toasty overnight and the grassed and fenced area was enjoyable for running around. The Tarra Valley is a hidden gem, we definitely would like to visit again!

I loved my time staying in the forest cabin! Kelly was great with communication leading up to and during my stay. He had even started the fire early so the place was toasty and warm on my arrival - such a nice touch! Walking the tracks nearby and at Lederderg were stunning, especially with the wintry rain falling all around. The local town of Trentham was also nice to explore. I highly recommend the scotch fillet steak at Pig and Whistle! My personal highlight was watching a wallaby outside my window as we both ate our breakfast. So peaceful and relaxing - just what the doctor ordered. See you next time!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Love Shack. It's an ideal spot for camping, with all the amenities needed for a comfortable visit. We especially loved having both an outdoor fire pit and an indoor one. While strong winds and rain limited our outdoor activities, the convenient location, just a short drive to Yarram and close to Tarra-Bulga National Park, allowed us to enjoy a scenic rainforest walk and a picnic lunch. The area is stunning and provides plenty of opportunities for our kids to explore. The property does require some maintenance; for example, the bathroom door was jammed and wouldn't close properly, and the front door handle was loose. Nevertheless, our host Kate was warm, welcoming, and very responsive. All in all, we had a wonderful weekend at the Love Shack.

Water from the tap (even warm), electricity, shower, induction cooking plate, large BBQ, 2 fridges, etc. There were enough plates, cutlery, cups etc. for the 5 of us. Also other kitchen equipment is there, i.e. pots, pans, knifes, electric kettle and so on. We mostly cooked on the fire, though...
The fenced area is large enough for several tents, caravans, with sufficient distance from the campfire and space for our dog to run and play.
It is very private, but with great views over the valley. Lots of birds around, for example a flock of 10 yellow-tailed black cockatoos has visited the pine tree next to the campsite a few times in the few days we stayed there.
We had a great time and would have loved to stay longer. We also enjoyed the Tarra Bulga National Park close by and Yarram provides all the gocery shopping needs for the stay. Also Port Albert is just aroubd 20 minutes drive, a small historic harbour town with a beautiful walk along the mangroves.
We definitely would stay here again, if we are in the region.
